Water leak after 24 valve rebuild
I can't see how it would leak.... Now are you talking about the gasket on the ac bracket/water pump outlet? Or the one behind the oil cooler? --- Update to the previous post... Nah don't take it dodge, you'd spend more trailering over there than fixing it. You'll get it done, if not I could probably get it for you one weekend I aint far from ya. It's probably behind the a/c bracket, you make sure you took some real fine sandpaper to both surfaces? Get em both cleaned up real good? Little rough is best with a bit of crosshatch from sandpaper. Then torque the bolts to spec, go over them 4 or 5 times, it oughta be good to go. PM me for my cell number if you need to

good transmission jack for nv5600
I got some 6 ton jack stands, they go up pretty high. You got a good point, I'll have to go measure the tranny height and see if the height from the top of the jack and bottom of the frame is greater than the height of the tranny.... If not, I got a couple tractors with loader I could lift the back of the truck up.

'Nother good article there for sure! Just fascinating to me for some reason. I had no clue they had a bad run of engine blocks, thank god I don't have to worry about mine. You are doing good then, hope I don't jinx ya I hope it keeps on holding together! You in OKC? I drive to OU for law school classes everyday from the Shawnee area. Really cool to see another Okie on here. *edit* hahaha me and my grammar sometimes LOL.

Want to buy bulk nuts and bolts!
Wound up getting several 8 foot tall x 4 foot wide cabinets filled with 2 foot deep plastic bins, and I am wanting to buy large quantities of nuts, bolts, screws, etc anybody know of any good places to get hardware? I went to tractor supply and bought 40 pounds of yellow grade 8 nuts and bolts, but they are all standard and 3.99 a pound seems a little high, I don't know maybe not. Are any of you all hardware collectors? I like to keep plenty of stuff around for projects in my shop

good transmission jack for nv5600
I'm about to pull my engine out of the truck to clean it all up, reseal everything that is leaking and put in a new oil pan, and paint the whole thing 'apex red'. First thing is first though, have to pull the tranny. I have a little tranny jack for car transmissions, it wont handle the nv5600 though. So who has suggestions on a good jack that will make this easier???

$60,000 vs. $6,000
Exactly, that is insane! Crazy how many little things can go wrong with one of those new v8 diesels. SOOO many emissions things all over it that are just insanely expensive. Then not to mention just the overall design of the engine is not meant for serviceability. For example, the lifters. Fords, the 6.0 and 6.4 have roller lifters that are prone to failure and destroying the entire engine. To replace them you have to completely remove the engine from the truck and pull the crank out. Just insanity. Then you look at the cummins and that is a relatively easy task but hey you never have to worry about it because they are flat and no moving parts. Stuff like that.

Where to buy ront Wheel hubs for 2 Wheel drive 01 dually
Yes sir, sure did, kinda disappointed in how much they are! $240 per wheel! Only last about 100k miles before they start squeaking, i'm on set number 2 and they are bad.... Lord have mercy it's one thing after another with stuff breaking, my 10,000 dollar lincoln welding machine started burning oil this past week smoking blue, and now lincoln is saying it was due to improper maintenance (bs) and are voiding the kubota engine warranty.. arrrg why can't machines last forever!!! anyway, i'll keep checking ebay maybe something used will come along!

Where to buy ront Wheel hubs for 2 Wheel drive 01 dually
^^^ like the title says I am looking for the best place to buy 2 new front wheel hub/bearing assemblies for my TWO wheel drive 2001 dually. I can find 4 wheel drive hubs all day long, but 2 wheel drive not so much! I know very few folks have 2 wheel drives so I am sure it is a supply and demand thing.

3rd gen air box fit 2nd gen tube?
Well we shall see in about a week, I ordered one from a guy on another forum so we'll see if I cant figure something out with plumbing where it doesn't look like crap or I will probably just use the stock 2nd gen I guess it's not too bad.
-
3rd gen air box fit 2nd gen tube?
that's cool. I think I saw those on ebay one time, they are made in india I think. emusa is the brand if i remember. cool that it is working for ya but if i were you next time you change your oil is buy you some neodymium magnet squares and stick a whole bunch up the oil drain hole just in case that turbo falls apart. wouldn't want to get a piece of casting sucked up to the oil pump, it wouldn't be long for this world.

3rd gen air box fit 2nd gen tube?
Cool. Hey what kinda turbo you got there? Don't look stock!

Manual trans swap.
Yeah that is the bad part....... But for 2wd guys I bet it would be a fun project! I would do this swap right now if I could find the sae# 2 adapter.... Ebay doesn't have them....
-
Manual trans swap.
I'd definitely avoid floating gear shifts with the 6 speed if you got one.... unless you can get the rpms perfect every time you are going to be wearing out syncs and blocker plates in a hurry... also this tranny aint easy to work on, i got one from a guy on craigslist and I have been tinkering with it at my buds shop, we are going in half on all the special tools and stands to take it apart haha i'll post back when and if that happens... pretty tempting to take it to blumenthals in okc though they will rip it all apart and replace whatever needs replacing for 400 plus parts. anyway, i would look into some other kind of manual tranny that isn't obsolete. Like an eaton 5 speed or 6 speed, they will never go out of business and those trannys are e z to work on and get parts for. main thing for one of them is to get an SAE #2 flywheel housing there is some guy on the internet that put a 6 speed eaton fuller in his truck... .http://www.sanco-bg.com/Conversion_NV5600.htm
