  1. I got a set of them off Amazon a few years ago. They work OK. Because they are LEDs, I have both lights on full time as DRLs using my lift pump relay. I like the fact that they are DOT approved. I would get them again
  2. They changed to metric threads. Not sure if they did it for 3rd or 4th gen. I'm pretty sure the thread was all that changed. L8tr D
  3. I did the same as @Sycostang67 a few months ago. I got some 4th gen chrome 18's. I got my lug nuts from RA & they are fine. Only a couple bucks a piece. Later D
  4. As @Mopar1973Man recommends, projectors and HID bulbs are the way to go. Great light all the time. One of the best mods I've done to my truck. Wiring can be challenging but once done it's worth it. Later D
  5. That would be great. All 4 you mention work well for me. DAP is
  6. but we typically don't need any additives in Florida. I always use TCW3. I did try cetane a few times when I first got the truck and mileage is definitely lower. Later D
  7. At least it was an easy fix and I'm glad you found it before spending a fortune. I can understand what you have been Through. The same thing happened to me with an old OMC outboard. It ran like crap and I couldn't figure it out. Did all sorts maintenance to it. Then one evening as it was getting dark and I started it up. The first thing I noticed was the main ground arcing. Tightened it up and it ran great. Later D
  8. So far, all is good. Thanks D
  9. That's a nice looking camper. I'm sure you'll enjoy it Later D
  10. Thanks for the tip @01cummins4ever. I changed the trans fluid last fall and adjusted the bands then. I did as @IBMobile suggested and all is good now. I went out for a nice long test ride and no issues. This is a great site and as usual I get pointed in the right direction. Thanks again to all L8tr d
  11. Thanks @IBMobile I will do that today. L8tr d
  12. I am assuming it's the solenoid and/or transducer. The tans shifts fine from first to second. Sometimes it doesn't like to shift to third until a higher rpm or I lift the throttle to coax it to shift. Sometimes it doesn't like to lock up as well. My AC ripple is 0.02 volts which I believe is acceptable (but could be wrong). Does the solenoid and transducer control all shifting? Thank in advance for your help. D
  13. And that works great. Replaced ball joints 2 summers ago and did that to get the bearings out. And as @dripley mentioned, I used anti seize when putting things back together. Later D
  14. Third part and same problem. Could the belt clip be worn that much? Sounds like this could be one of @dripley favorite things. Electrical gremlins Bad connection somewhere or possibly a pinched wire. I hope you figure this one out. Later D
  15. I have the same issue. From what you explained I wonder if the male part of the buckle could be worn enough to cause this? I might check mine this weekend. I assume a new belt would be a PITA to install. I will probably just disconnect the wire plug and short it out so the light stays off. Later D
  16. I'm assuming you have the air dog ddrp? I just put one of them on after my fass ddrp went south. It seems that the air dog reacts slower than the fass as I noticed what you mentioned. The fass reacts faster for some reason Later D
  17. I was in a similar situation. I typically use the floor/vent combo almost exclusively. I just like it that way. Unfortunately in the winter, the AC would always run. I simply added a switch to the low pressure valve and can turn the AC off whenever I choose. Works great Later D
  18. Thanks for the info. What a difference a resistor makes. Even down here in Florida, It's so much quieter. IAT at 144 with resistor. L8tr d
  19. Thank you very much @Tractorman L8tr D
  20. I've done some research about adding a resistor to to the IAT connector as an MPG fooler. Is this an acceptable method? I wonder if it can affect anything in the engine when the outside temps are cold and the IAT is set at 143 degrees. After thinking about it for a while, I bet an arduino could be used to ramp up the IAT while monitoring the ECT. That could be an easy thing to do with a few relays and different resistors used to change the IAT. Say when you start the truck and it's cold out, a relay could close and send the actual IAT temp out. As the truck warms up, other relays could open/close and send out different resistor values. Any thoughts on that or could I just use a single resistor in the IAT connector? I wouldn't mind trying this on my trip to Texas next week. Thanks d
  21. Thanks again for all the input. Turns out I needed to put the alternator on the back burner. The Tuesday before turkey day my lift pump took a dump. It was a FASS DDRP and the shaft seal went on it. Got home form work and fuel was leaking pretty good out the weep hole. Thank goodness for Amazon. I ordered an Airdog DRP the day before turkey day and got it the day after. I find the Airdog to be quieter than the FASS and I like the adjusability of it. I'm glad I move it to in front of the tank. Makes the change a lot easier. I plan to get to the alternator this weekend. Got to go to Texas for a funeral next week and need to to some routine work on the truck. Thanks again L8tr d
  22. Thanks for all the suggestions. I need to digest them all and and determine what my best approach will be. Nations alternator on top of the list. I need to check all the connections first. Have a great Thanksgiving! L8tr d
  23. Hey everyone, I hope all is well. I currently have a Bosch alternator and even with the WT mod I am experiencing high AC ripple. I plan to replace the alternator and am wondering if I can replace it with a Denso unit as they seem to be more plentiful than the Bosch units. I also plan to keep my stock alternator and rebuild it with a new rectifier, bearings and brushes. Has anyone rebuilt their Bosch alternator? I'm curious if it is easy to do. I have found a replacement rectifier online so they are available. Thanks and I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving. L8tr d
  24. Finally, I am able to get back here. After thinking about this for way too long (one of my downfalls is I way over analyze things) I have to agree with @Dieselfuture about this. I am going to scantool.net and post there about my issues. I appreciate your thoughts and will update if I find anything. Thanks again d
