  1. Glad to hear the good news. L8tr D
  2. You could get a Obdlink for $50 and then have extra gauges after diagnosing. L8tr D
  3. I'm along for the ride with this. I will be doing the same thing next tranny service. L8tr D
  4. A new stereo was the first thing (well second after a ddrp) I put in the truck when I bought it. The adapters you can get to connect to factory wiring makes the job easy. A new head unit with the Infinity amps sound pretty good but the speakers could be better. When I get new speakers, I will still use the amps and then I'm sure it will sound much better. L8tr D
  5. You can keep the factory amps too. I'm pretty sure there were some posts about it but may have been a long time ago. L8tr D
  6. I use Bluetooth quite often with the phone and no issues. I do have the mic on top of dash right in front of me. L8tr D
  7. It's Monday, I can't think that hard.
  8. I have to apologize about the overflow valve question. That was a big brain on my side. I completely forgot about the banjo bolt there for the return. Anyway, Things went real well and replacing the VP44 was much easier than I had anticipated. Here's a timeline of my progress 10:30 Started the process 12:25 VP44 out 1:20 New VP44 installed 2:00 everything hooked back up. I hot wired my DDRP and let it run for 10 minutes and verified fuel flow to VP44 2:11 Cranked for probably less than 10 seconds and the Silvermoose fired right up. It ran rough for a few seconds but that's it. Everything went real smooth. Installing the new pump and aligning the key was pretty much a none issue. It went on real easy. I was very paranoid that I would drop the lock washer inside as I usually do stupid stuff like that. The magnet tip and something else I thought of made it pretty fool proof. I got a piece of cardboard and put it in the opening to keep things from falling down. The biggest PITA to me was getting the two inside mounting bolts off. I'm glad I had some wobbly extension for my 1/2" drive. I knew I would not have too easy a time getting them back on and I had a brainstorm. I fired up the hot glue gun and tacked the bolt to the socket so it wouldn't fall off. That helped tremendously. All in all, the process went real smooth and I had no major issues or obstacles. I think my old pump had been going for a while. The Silvermoose starts up real real fast now. That surprised me quite a bit. It definitely runs a lot better and smoother. I also have been having a lopey idle at start up which is now gone. That's been happening for a long time. I Have to thank everyone for all the input and appreciate it tremendously. Thanks again L8tr d
  9. @Scottfunk I just went out and did some highway driving after installing a new VP44. With my 285/75/17's I was turning 2060 rpm at 71 mph. I was probably mistaken in my last post about turning 2100 at 71 with my 285/70/17's It was probably 2150. L8tr d
  10. Thanks too all for great advice. Will be starting in a few minutes. Going to have my laptop out in the garage with me with @Mopar1973Man's post about removal out there with me. L8tr D
  11. All very very good tips . I went to get a 23 mm socket and couldn't find one so I ordered that, a telescoping magnet and telescoping mirror off amazon. Got them today. I love prime shipping. One question I do have for anyone. What torque does the pressure return valve tighten to? Mine came separate and have to install it on the VP44. Thanks L8tr d
  12. My hypertech use 1/4" diameter increments so I'm stuck with that.
  13. Not to throw a stick in the spokes but I am very anal when it comes to precision. I've been in some sort if engineering my entire career and precision is required for that. I have the hypertech programmer to adjust my tires size. I think that 33.25" is going to be the correct size for my new tires which are advertised as 33.9". You will lose some diameter when tires are on a vehicle. I do this to verify that my odometer matches GPS readings. My last set if tires, I was right around 2100 rpm's at 71 mph. I'm estimating I will be around 2000 with my new tires. L8tr D
  14. Should have known that. That's one of my issues. I hate watching the machine run slow. We are able to run some things fast. When I mill tooling projects, I'm running 300+ fpm. The slowest I've gone to date is 50 fpm. L8tr D
  15. Stock except for DDRP. Tuning is my right foot.
  16. It looks like we are pretty much the same mileage wise with the same tire size. I have Toyo AT's. L8tr D
  17. Thanks again, much appreciated L8tr D
  18. Well I finally got the lights installed and all I can say is WOW. These lights are awesome and what a difference. I highly recommend this as a necessary upgrade. L8tr d
  19. I can't wait to get this bad boy installed Saturday. I've looked at @Mopar1973Man's post on removing the pump so many times I think I have it memorized. Any other tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. L8tr d
  20. It all depends on what you want to do and the complexity of it. I think one person could pick it up real quick and the other may never get it. I've been using computers for years (mid 80's) and mostly cadd for work. I never did the programing until a few years ago but I pick it up pretty quickly. 3d modeling is another fun thing that I just picked up. I think having the mindset for it helps as well. s-f? Please excuse my ignorance. I would think the machines don't have the accuracy for smaller parts. The material is held in place by vacuum. I see parts break vacuum and fly across the building quite often. L8tr d
  21. I just got new tires and went from 285/70/17 to 285/75/17. My best trank with the old tires was 20.4 but usually average around 18-18.5 around town. I will let you know if the slightly taller tires change anything. L8tr d
  22. We have 2 DMS cnc routers with 5' x 10' tables. I think it would be difficult to cut aluminum on them. L8tr D
  23. Great info. I am adding that project to my list. Thanks L8tr D
