  1. That would be a fun project. I do CNC programming but our machines are too big for that. Good luck. L8tr D
  2. That's a major bummer and glad you are OK. L8tr D
  3. Me too. Is the lift pump controlled directly by the ECM or a relay using ECM signal?
  4. I had new cables made at work and then realized I could reuse the charge line. At least I have a spare ground now. L8tr D
  5. This mod isn't difficult at all. If you can take a laptop or tablet out to your truck and go through the steps. It might help you visualize what needs to be done. In a nutshell you will be moving the charge line from the PDC to the passenger side battery and moving a ground from the passenger side battery to the driver side battery. The ground connects to the VP44 along with the wires from the splice right at the VP44. I hope I didn't muddy the water any. Good luck. L8tr D
  6. If you have no fuel pressure maybe try hot wiring the lift pump to see if it does indeed work. Also, no matter the outcome of all your issues I suggest adding 2 stroke oil (TCW3) to your fuel (1 ounce per gallon). You just have trust these guys here. They really know what they are talking about and follow ALL their advise. They will definitely get you up and running. L8tr D
  7. Thanks for your help guys. I ended up getting the VP44 with the 2 year warranty for $1099. That pump had the new electronics as opposed to 1 year warranty ($975) with rebuilt electronics.
  8. Thanks guys I appreciate the input. I assume you are referring to DAP? Going to call them in a little bit. Thanks again L8tr D
  9. So I'm pulling the trigger on ordering a VP44. I got dead pedal 3 times yesterday and have had enough of that. I'm planning on getting it from DAP. Does anyone have any pluses or minuses about this or any other suggestions? I figured this would happen as my brother's ignorance with the VP44 is probably what lead to its premature death. With 2 stock lift pumps in it with no TCW3 and more than likely constant low pressure sound like a death sentence. He also used if for towing 2 to 3 horses and very little non towing. The silvermoose had a very demanding first 60k miles. This is going to be one expensive week. My tires will be getting replaced as well. They currently have over 50k on them and there is still a good amount of tread left but they are dated 2014 and are not behaving nicely. Thank and appreciate any input. L8tr D
  10. I think you should add "adjust my expectations" in there a few more times. L8tr D
  11. I'm in the same boat as you except my seat has a small tear in it. Not sure how the heated seats affect putting in new foam. L8tr D
  12. That old cushion certainly was worn out. I can imagine the difference you feel sitting now L8tr D
  13. Cool a new toy. I have my king pin & plate out now. When my brother got the truck new he installed it and never took the pin out. It is stuck solid. I have soaked it in PB blaster, map gassed it and sitting in a 6 ton press now. It has not budged. That induction heated would get it out in no time I bet. L8tr D Sorry, didn't mean to hijack.
  14. I've got most if our house converted as well. Just waiting on cfl's to burn out. I love the daylight color as opposed to soft white which is too yellow. Haven't done the rv yet L8tr D
  15. I have one in my dome light, FP gauge & all exterior lights except fog & head. Love them. I got a whole bag of them for all interior just got to get off my butt & install. I love the color & not too fond of the incandescent color. I have one of those light switches to fix as well. I think that is some sort of right of passage for a 2nd gen owner. We all go through it. L8tr D
  16. OUCH Good thing you caught it before anything disastrous happened L8tr D
  17. I probably would. Turtle wax makes a lens restore kit and it comes with 2 coatings that get put at the end to help protect the lenses. It's only $6. May be worth a try. I'm going try it on my wife's car. Just a thought L8tr D
  18. I've been getting the extended cranking for 3-4 months and 7-8 dead pedal in the last 2 months (all very random). Been running TCW3 since I got it from my brother. Using about 2 is per gallon now instead of 1. I attribute these issues to my brother's ignorance. He had stock lift pump changed once and that one died when I bought it. He never used fuel treatment & assume he'd ran with low pressure. He used it for towing horses around for his daughter. Mileage not alarming to me...just higher than anticipated L8tr D
  19. Trust me, I would love to have the Morimotos. Unfortunately with my VP44 on its way out and only a few thousand miles left on my tires (and they are getting too old, from 2014) I couldn't justify the additional expense right now. My lights work great on low beam but suck on high. I figured that out on my trip to NY over memorial day. Driving all the back roads at night on the lookout for deer was not fun. Speaking of my trip to NY memorial day, my mileage well exceeded my expectations. I lost 1 receipt so can't get exact numbers but did average slightly over 19 mpg for a 2900 mile round trip. I left the Thursday before, got there Friday night, left Monday morning & got home Tuesday night. My best tank as 20.6 and worst was 17.4. I was thinking that if I got 17 I would be satisfied. Not too bad with a truck with 4:10's. L8tr D
  20. I get no frost just condensate draining....lots of it. I've dealt with frost before to the extent of blocking air flow. Switched to vent to melt and the cycle continues L8tr D
  21. Amen neighbor L8tr D
  22. You should see how much the AC systems drain water down here. L8tr D
  23. Only because I'm adding HIds to my current ones. I went the lower budget sets from Amazon as I can't afford the big ones right now. I'm going to need a new VP44 soon and also a set of tires. After reading some of the posts here, I decided too go with the H1 35 watt version and got a relay. I also got a pair of 9004 headlight extensions so I can tap off my light circuit for the relay and magnet for the high beams. Anyway, I plan to put my old lights back in so I can take my time getting the projectors fitted and adjusted properly. I decided to try to clean the lenses before putting them back in and got the turtle wax restoration kit. I was skeptical but I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. The kit also has a sealer to put on the lenses to help it stay clear longer. I probably could have gotten it clearer but I only need them for about a week. I have to go out of town this weekend to bring my daughter to orchestra camp at FSU so I won't be able to start until next week. L8tr d
