  1. I stand corrected. I learn some much from here. L8tr D
  2. Down here in Florida they are a dime a dozen. I even use mine at night by habit. Just find one you think you will like. I have a 2 piece one now and hate it. Can't wait til it falls apart. The one pictured is nice but bulky. It's all personal preference. They also help save the dash cover and we all know how good ours are. Fortunately my brother got a new one before I bought it from him. L8tr D
  3. There ain't no such thing as a smooth running 2nd gen. I know my VP44 is on it's last leg. Seems be something that has unfortunately been very popular lately L8tr D
  4. That looks like a hell of a lot of fun. L8tr D
  5. Did you put the LS additive in when you changed the fluid? L8tr D
  6. OBDlink for sure. If you have an Android phone or tablet, get the LX It uses Bluetooth. I do recommend a tablet dedicated for this. The size makes it much easier to view. I have and old galaxy tab 2 that lives in my truck. I can't imagine not having one now. You get live data, logging & code reader. L8tr D
  7. @Dieselfuture you can get a programmer from hypertech that will enable you to change tire size. I have one and check it with gps. As my tires wear down I can adjust the size. All it does is tire size and gear ratio. It's about $200. The nice thing about having it is if you decide to change tire size you can save cash by not having to go to dealer. L8tr D
  8. If it's an auto I would agree with @dripley . Does your HVAC work as it should? That would help determine if vaccuum or not unless the vaccuum pump is powerful enough or cruise and HVAC are isolated with check valves. Or it's just a small leak near cruise that is affecting it. L8tr d
  9. Most definitively. I've had in my truck for almost 3 years. TPS is something I monitor L8tr D
  10. I did this mod yesterday as well while dodging rain drops. I have not run a ground between each battery yet. My ac ripple was 0.03 before and 0.015 after. A big thanks to @W-T for his knowledge and brain storming this mod. Been doing a lot of maintenance in the past week or so as I am driving up to NY next week. I wanted to make sure that it's in the best shape as possible. I do believe this will be the longest trip the Silvermoose has ever been on. My brother the po kept it local. L8tr D
  11. Sorry for the delay. Weather here is basically rain (all last week & all next) anyway, I hope these help Passenger side Front upper 20 1/4 Front lower 13 1/8 Rear upper 22 3/4 Rear lower 16 Drivers side Front upper 20 3/8 Front lower 13 1/8 Rear upper 23 3/4 Rear lower 16 The rear upper difference has me stumped. I did double check. My truck pcm is set with a tire size of 31.75 inch diameter. 47re trans L8tr D
  12. Going to work on my truck in a few hours & will get some numbers L8tr D
  13. Very interesting. Mine are disconnected and we don't get much cold weather down. I have started with temps in the 30's with no code. Probably like @Mopar1973Man suggested. Non CA truck & newer. L8tr D
  14. I guess you will gave to keep L8tr D
  15. I got a great transmission guy less than a mile from me. He rebuilt my old half ton & a friend's 48re. He really knows his stuff and very reasonable. Gives you a little piece of mind knowing that. I hope he does good by you when the time comes. L8tr D
  16. You were the first one I thought of when I read the post from @dieselautopower. I knew you would be drooling over that L8tr D
  17. It sure is nice to see the legend return. I hope you can keep in touch with us L8tr D
  18. 17 x 9 injectors... do they smoke alot? Nice looking wheels L8tr D
  19. I bet if you took a poll about AC leaks, most would say the evaporator L8tr D
  20. I could do the same thing in my old 1/2 ton. Didn't need the key for ignition. Kinda scary. Glad you caught it sooner than too late. L8tr D
  21. You should've added a pic of you knuckles. Bet they are a little dinged up. It looks great but probably a PITA L8tr D
  22. If it reads the same as OBDlink, it won't read boost correctly. A while ago we tried hard to figure it out with no luck. One of those unsolved mysteries. L8tr D
  23. Ain't that the truth. I got offered 19k for mine over the weekend L8tr D
  24. Below 50% load sounds real good. I can actually here the nice tone of the exhaust. Above 50% still some drone but not quite as much. Man these straight sixes sound soooooooooooooo much better than those V8 diesels. L8tr D
  25. I had enough so I added a piece on where the muffler was and the rest in front of resinator. Going to home cheepo for a test drive. L8tr D
