  1. Back in the rock crawler days, we'd mod an old VW ac compressor into an air compressor to re-inflate "aired down" tires after the trail ride. We'd also mod big alternators into welders ;) Here's a primer:
  2. I just ordered a manual boost controller..
  3. Welcome to the forum, Eric! This thread may help you: http://forum.mopar1973man.com/threads/5937-Torque-Converter-Lock-Unlock-Issues?highlight=lock+unlock
  4. The edge boost fooler is an electronic device that takes the MAP sensor readings and manipulates them so that the ecm doesn't see the high boost. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  5. In Turbo car days, we'd crush the waste gate diaphragm canisters top in a little to pre load the spring pressure. We'd do the same with the dsm blow off valves. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  6. My auto ('97) makes crap for boost; maybe 20-25psi max.. I've considered it.. LOL
  7. My 96 12v, when i had dual 5s, was 4" straight-pipe to the stacks. you couldn't even think in that truck when it was under load, due to it being so loud in the truck.. Then I changed it to a single 7". It got much, much quieter.. But the 2200rpm drone on the highway (around 66-68mph) was insane..
  8. Pull the intake tube off the turbo and look inside.. If it looks like this: Then the silencer ring is still intact. If it looks like this: Then it had been removed. - - - Updated - - - Okay, apparently I missed Page 2 of this thread...
  9. "shouldn't be" and "none" are two different things LOL My '01 had tow mirrors and the Dodge backing plates, and still shook a bit.. Wasn't unbearable, but they did shake/vibrate.I haven't put them on the 3500 yet..
  10. does the mirror glass just.. "pop out"? wonder if it is different for power units..
  11. I'm so sorry to hear. Please accept our condolences Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  12. My prayers go out to you and your family. I've been through the hospice thing with my grandmother last year and I feel they are the best hands she could be in right now. I lost my father (suddenly) in 2011 and I know it is very hard to handle, but stay strong and focus on the great memories. We're here if you need anything.
  13. I had dual 5" stacks on my '96, then changed it to a single 7" mitre cut. I have to say that I liked the single for a couple reasons.. It was much quieter than the dual 5", and it took way less bed space. The downside was rain. When it got wet inside and was started, it would cover the truck in wet soot. That sucked.
  14. I just went through this, basically. the air cooler to trans rear, and trans front to side cooler are available (Oem style). The side to air cooler seems to be dealer only, even though Dorman has a pn# and stocks it, I couldn't find any reseller that could order it. Ive fixed the 47re's 1/2" with brass compression couplers (standard union) This might be an option for making your own connections.
  15. Concerns are understood, and (IMPO) easily remedied by replacing the diff bushing and modding the adjuster. Clayton ( I remember him from way back, when we wheeled together in Gore, VA, years and years ago, before Clayton's Off-Road was a thought..) His stuff, IMO, is 2nd to none. But the pricing was way out of my league. As for the lockout switches, etc., yes. I'll look for my notes and post them for you. It may take me a couple of days, though..
  16. 3link. Flex front setup Installed Droop Next to a stocker Two of em together.. My daughter trying to get in it.. The trans controls.. Parkin on a rock ( ~4' tall boulder) Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  17. Having built several Cherokee crawlers, iron rock offroad has a great (inexpensive) long arm kit. I had 10" lift on my last one and used grand Cherokee 8" coils in the front. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  18. 231 is a gas tc. That's what was in my jeep Cherokees. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2

  21. Is it a crank but no fire situation?
  22. I used to That is the ultimate in ATV, in my opinion. I worked off the back of a 16hh blue-eyed cremello AQHA-registered gelding, and a beautiful bay cutter. Also had a 15.1hh medicine-hat arab/qh cross 'heeler'.
  23. this will probably be my next toy purchase.. but at a fully decked out price of 23k$... it'll be awhile.. ...if ever..
