  1. i found my speedo variance with oversized tires to not be a linear calibration. what i found is that at sub 50mph it seems to be very accurate with the gps. 60>mph it seems to skew further the faster you go... thats my experience anyway..
  2. I've got the FS Transforce ATs on my dually (235-85/16), and IMO, they are crap. I don't know how many miles are on them, but their traction ability in anything but dry tarmac is sub-par, IMO.
  3. just because no lights are on (i.e. check engine) doesn't mean there aren't any codes, unfortunately. As for checking fuel pressure, the only method is to either install a fuel pressure gauge, or put a fuel pressure tester gauge onto the schrader valve bolt at the pump.
  4. any mods to the truck, or completely stock? Codes? fuel pressure?
  5. as previously stated, 150hp sticks + hx35 is way too much fuel; the hx35 doesn't truly flow enough air to clean-burn the 150's fuel delivery.I'd love to know what the 35"s on a 20" wheel would weigh. I can imagine quite a lot. I would not be surprised if there's 5-600 lbs in un-sprung rotating mass there.Even with 35s, if you're turning 1400rpm at 55mph with 4.10:1 R&P, that doesn't sound right. Unless that's GPS-speed, and your speedo showed like 30mph..
  6. Being that I'm inland west of the atlantic by a good 5-6hrs, I was a little concerned with the amount of rain and wind I was seeing here. I can only imagine what it was like in DE, NJ, NY, MA, etc..
  7. my rain gauge says 5" now, since 1030am...My highest registered wind, here, is 47mph, with 35-38mph sustained.. And I'm 5hrs west of the coast..
  8. specs on the truck...?
  9. I went last year and watched them for awhile, as well as the changing of the guard..I was awe-struck at the level of discipline, methodical routine, and extreme attention to detail.
  10. but, on a 20gal refill, or even a 23 gallon refill with a 25gal tank, 23gal = 12.1. 20gal = is almost 14mpg..But follow Michael's lead.. we need more info.
  11. That's how I roll! The two 'illumination' wires on mine are, well, stupid..One goes to 12V IGN, the other to the dash light circuit. All it does is when you turn the key on, the backlight illuminates. When you turn the light's on, it dims it. Almost to the point of unreadable at night.. :cookoo:So I think I'll be disconnecting the illumination wire and go with the default.. OR, connect the one that is currently on the 12V IGN wire and move it to the illumination circuit, since it's not bright enough to fiddle with, during the day, yet isn't bright enough to cause an issue at night. My biggest issue, however, is the temp sensor probe locations. The 'outside' one is in the drivers door jamb, but get's skewed by under-hood temps in city traffic. I need to find a better (read: more accurate and stable) location for it.
  12. It's all good; no worries. I'm just exploring thoughts and options right now. It'll be tough to leave the profession I'm currently in, just from a financial stand-point. But I'm sick and tired of doing it.
  13. Is that a Pro-Mod? My brother and his '63 Pro-Mod back in '06..
  14. Yeah, somehow it went from what im entertaining to rebuilding broken trucks.. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  15. I'm in my mid-40s. I've ALWAYS had outside jobs (from the farm growing up, to operating heavy equipment at stone quarries, etc. I broke my neck in 2003, and have had desk jobs since then. I cannot stand this anymore.
  16. Like... who (here) does transportation/shipping with their truck? Is it financially stable? Is it profitable? Is it costly? (aside from maintenance stuff)I'm tired of doing IT stuff.
  17. ^^^ HAHAHAHA!!! Epic, CSM! So, Mikie:
  18. I haven't had a chance to install it yet. Maybe this weekend, if the weather holds out
  19. I mounted this the other day. I called michael since I didn't have wiring diagram. I made him walk out in the snow to look at his wiring colors and connections to find out his has 3 wires, and mine has 4. After he was out in the snow, I found the directions in the box :oSorry, Mikie. So anyway, I need to relocate my two temp sensors I think. Inside one is between lower trim bezel and knee bolster cover. Outside one is in drivers door jamb. I think they're both reading high.. michael, where do you have your sensors placed?Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  20. Welcome to the forum! Is they 25mpg hand-calculated? That seems quite high :)Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  21. Got it, John. Thank you! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
  22. All good, valid points to consider when purchasing a new saw..
  23. Remember, I grew up in Texas. "cutting firewood" meant chunking up a mesquite bush.for the past 4-5yrs, I've been cutting cords and cords of Virginia red oak with my Homelite Pro 46cc 20", which honestly sounds like a weed eater, compared to this Husky.. But, I thought it was a decent saw.. Again, until this Husky..
