1. !@#$&!!From the Galaxy S3
2. Worked epically, first start of the day, too! GraciasFrom the Galaxy S3
3. My '97 12V seems to take a little cranking to fire.. like 5-6 seconds.. doesn't matter if its the first start of the day, or if it's been running for an hour. This just seems a little on the long side.. My old '96 would crank right up, especially when it's warmed up already. Same with my 24Valve..Think it's possibly a timing issue?
4. Exactly...So whats the point in continuing to use it in my truck? It's like right now, it's showing avg 17.2mpg, and that's all towing. I know that it's nowhere near close to actual, and I've been trying to calibrate the SG2 for 3 or 4 tanks of fuel...
5. 200mA, or .2A is all it takes to trigger a standard (i.e. Bosch) relay. ;)
6. My SG2 is calibrated to the GPS. - - - Updated - - - I "assume" the SG2 is tracking actual mileage. Otherwise, I've got no way of knowing the actual miles traveled per tank, since the odometer is incorrect. The SG2 seems to be pretty consistant to the GPS mph.
7. Has prepper written all over it ;)Mechanical VRs work well, but they're just not as precise as their electronic counterparts. As for grounding, all I can go on is my past mobile audio/video experience as a Master Installer (MECP-certified) and tell you:In order to ensure the least chance for noise introduction is to keep the ground wire as short and tight as possible, no longer than 18 inches, and clean the ground-points regularly. The Oil Pressure switch is not designed to carry the amperage that a Raptor would draw, thus requiring a relay, anyway.
8. If you're planning on going >25psi (not sure off-hand what the exact number is before the CEL is triggered), then you'll need some sort of 'boost fooling' device..
9. Tom, do you have a scan guage 2? if so, what is your TPS reading at closed throttle (rest)
10. so you think it not that the truck suspension is too low, but rather the overload main leaf is just closer to the pads due to the additional thickness of the overload pack?
11. ok, so a couple things:1. I'm about to give up on this SG2 in my '97 as an economy tool.. It's so inaccurate that it isn't funny.I just filled up this afternoon, and it assumed I'd used 39.7 gal, and went 734mi. Apparently there's something I'm doing wrong.. But, I didn't have this issue in the '01.2. I drove 334mi, of 300 of those were towing the enclosed trailer at approximately 3500# gross trailer weight. 29.17gallons @ 3.89/gal. (334 via odometer.. speedometer/odometer = gps up until about 40-45mph. after that, the faster you go the further the two go apart (i.e. speedo = 40, gps = 40. speedo = 55, gps = 59. speedo = 65, gps = 71-73...Tires are 265/75-16.SG2 (calibrated) seems to match gps.
12. it's surreal..
13. Mark, it just dawned on me who you are. LOL your screen name is spelled differently here, no?Sometimes, I'm a little slow..
14. 2 items.. bright flashlight, laser pointer.. Or, just the laser pointer.. and hold it steady.. The 'red dot of death' will scare the hell out of anyone, I don't care who you are..
15. First impression is I like it. A lot.. Towing, I can keep my trans temp sub-180*F my utilizing the OD switch and the TCC switch in conjunction.. it's a little intuitive but once I got used to it, it's not bad at all. From the Galaxy S3
16. I just installed mine (along with an OD lockout switch, since the OE one doesn't work) and it works fine.. this is in my '97 3500..
17. I'll have to find some scales and do that..
18. Y'all got me concerned now, unless that Western Hauler bed is just that damned heavy...From the Galaxy S3
19. I ain't above that method! LOL From the Galaxy S3
20. As far as I know they are. I am missing one isolator (right rear). From the Galaxy S3
21. Other sideFrom the Galaxy S3
22. As you can see they're touching. This is with the empty trailer hooked up.From the Galaxy S3
23. A.c. and auto transmissions have always eluded my brain.. From the Galaxy S3
24. I'm curious as to where you can get the overload springs cushions for my 3500. My dually seems to be missing them. Everytime I hit a bump you can hear the overload springs slap the stops, as it is metal to metal. From the Galaxy S3
