Grid heater issues?
My grids a disconnected for now and I started it the other day around 19 or 20 degrees. It took 4 or 5 cranks for to fire off and stay running. That was a little extreme and quite smokey.

Changing a VP44
I dare say there is no difference in the 2 pumps. The extra $500 just covers the cost if a tapped one craps out. Run some crappy fuel thru your pump and see how fast that will void your warranty. Not sure i would spring for the extra warranty if it was mine. But like Jag said, It aint my money!!! The last time I pulled my pump I used a steering wheel puller on the pump gear. It will work but the space is very tight and I think I had to buy some different bolts to use with it, cant remember.

2 stroke info.
When I first starting using 2 stroke i did notice the engine idled quieter than before using it. Right now mine is idleing even quieter than ever. I am thinking that it is bio in the diesel fuel. Most states I am driving in allow up to 5% with no labeling on the pumps. Anything over 5% has to be labeled. I did a few months back start seeking the bio diesel and thats when it quieted down even more than with the 2 stroke. I am still adding the 2 stroke except when they are labeled B-15 or B-20. I believe the the B-5 should be good with out it or at a reduced rate. I am not always sure what I am getting when I fill up these days. The Love's I am building mixes there own bio here on site. They have 3 tanks with straight #2 and one tank of pure bio. It appears to me to be mixed on demand and not in the holding tanks. I will have to ask my fuel guy to see if I am reading the prints right. I am not familiar with the petroleum end of things.

new clutch, fuel mileage with the Comp, and a miss
Well due to the cold, snowy, sleety, rainy and freezing rainy I did not get to try anything out on the truck. Funny thing is it has missed once in 2 days, no matter how hard I get on it.

24 valve turbo
Mine whistles pretty good around 20 to 24 psi but the only way I can keep it there is with the 5th wheel hooked up and pulling a grade. With out it I just keep accelerating. LEO's dont accept that excuse very well..

Grid heater issues?
He is pretty borderline for the grids coming on in the 50's is he not? And if one or both came on they would not be on for long I would not think.

2nd Gen parts lookup tools
You could probably find that piece at junk yard. The parts of the lower dash are out of the sun and should still be in reasonable shape. The 1500 series parts are the same as ours. The price ought not break the bank either. The only interior parts I have priced were the dash and instrument bezel. I still have sticker shock. Maybe some of the sellers other than dealerships are more reasonable.

When I was in the 25 below the last thing on my mind was whether it would or not. I was looking for the warm zone. I had prostate surgery to cure the stream problem. It worked nicely. My brother had it a couple years earlier than me and always rubbed it in how good he could go. After mine I found out he was not rubbing it in, you just want to tell everyone you can go again and how proud of the fact you can. IBMobile, bet you got an emoticon for that one too, don't ya?

new clutch, fuel mileage with the Comp, and a miss
I have the intank fuel module which I believe is the same as the liberty tank module. The pick up and return are both in the module. The pickup is open on the end with no screen. There are no screens on the bottom of the module like the oe. I cant remember whether I had to drill any additional holes in the module for fuel. I just know I can pull the tank down to nothing. It was all part of a kit from Pureflow to remove the in tank pump for the AD install.

Swaybar end links?
They really helped mine out though it was not swaying as you describe. It cleared up the bump steer i was getting and got the normal swaying under control.

Swaybar end links?
I dont know that it is the sole cause but it is the likely cause. They are not expensive and worth putting on. You can just by the bushing if the links are still in good shape.

New BHAF options!
Welcome to forum. I use the BAHF and just clamp them together as is. It has not buckled and holds together tightly. Some here do use different things like you are mentioning. If mine buckled somewhere I would definitely be adding something.

Fuel pressure gauge saved my bacon.

Fuel pressure gauge saved my bacon.
I blew the fuse in my AD with the same results. Truck ran fine and you have would have never known the lift pump was down. Mine was about 6 years old and it turned out to be a bad pump. AD did send me new with only a couple of questions. That is another story however. Glad to here all is well. The gauge just paid for itself.

I am innocent. I did not ask the question, just tried to answer it.

new clutch, fuel mileage with the Comp, and a miss
If I stab it at low rpm it will miss right off. It does not sputter just a miss. I never watched the egt's. If I roll into it, it does not miss until about mid throttle. It never missed lick when I towed the 5th wheel back from Alabama. I had it under heavy throttle quite often on that trip. This just started in the past month.

Depends on where I am at and what speed I am going. I am not seeing anything out of the ordinary but not paying a whole lot of attention. ???????

I will give the grease a try if it will just warm up a bit Cant stand having to work on the truck with thick gloves or frozed fingers. It did get into the high 20's today but the breeze sucked. Supposed to be colder tomorrow with more snow moving in. I am tired of winter.
