  1. Not so sure it sucks to be me, I'll get back to you later on that one. It does, however, suck to be in the cold. 30 is cold enough for me and you can have any thing below that you want. Never cared for the winter sports much unless it involves fire and I am keeping up with it. Darn sure dont like working in it.
  2. I am not believing that you are getting milder weather while I am looking forward to single digits and maybe below 0 this weekend. It is strangely cold for my region. I have several fun things in store for me if the weather will break a little.
  3. You have the 95-02. The 02-08 deals with the 1500 02's since they were 3rd gens.
  4. The blend door motor has a little coupler that is made out of plastic and it tends to crack or break. Here is what I used on mine.http://www.heatertreater.net/. It is a bit a pain with the hvac box in place but easier than removing the dash.
  5. Just think about what the cop car would look like if you were DD'ing the Dodge.
  6. I think being "me" approved is all he, me that is, is worried about. Hope that makes sense. If it does not, I tried.
  7. It does sound like the clutch is going away. When you put the edge on level 3 it is just to much power for it to handle. If you leave it in the stock setting you can buy yourself some time. Your hydraulics might be failing too since you cant get it into gear with the engine running.
  8. I have always run mine pretty low if I know where the next fuel stop is on highways I run regularly. If I am unsure of the next stop I fill up around warning light time.
  9. With the tank down let it rest on 2X4's on edge where the straps are that way the tank will be sitting just like it hangs in the straps. Then you can cut to fit the tank as it is.
  10. You can hear the pump but is any fuel making to the VP? You can loosen the the fuel line at the VP and be sure. Then if you have fuel there you will need to open some injectors and bleed the air out of the high pressure lines. 1 3 and 4 would be sufficient. Crank it for 10 or 15 seconds and let it rest then repeat until you get fuel coming out of the injector lines. Then start tightening them up as they get fuel and it should fire off. It will run rough at first but will smooth out. If you cant get fuel thru the VP to the injectors then you will have to trouble shoot it. you could recheck the pump install just to be sure all is ok with that also. Since you had to replace the pump you will have alot of air in the whole system. Here is some good reading on the fuel system
  11. I cant imagine drilling for the sump is any more difficult. It is just a bigger hole. My set up will suck the tank dry and as long as it does that I dont see the need to drill a hole in the bottom of my tank. Most of the folks here with a draw straw dont seem to have issues with them either.
  12. You might want to talk to Eric and see if you can get what you need to modify yours if it is the in tank set up. The picture of the Liberty Module looks an awful lot like my intank module. I had to modify mine and it was not difficult. You might be able to save a couple hundred bucks. Eric should know.
  13. I wonder how differant the liberty module is from the in tank pump retrofit? I have not been able to find a comparison. I have to admit however I did not do aot of looking.
  14. Mines a hybrid just not sure what. The banks system I put on mine came with a new exhaust housing supposedly to spool quicker and had the big head waste gate. I did not know squat about this stuff when I bought it and have not had much luck finding out any technical info on it.
  15. The AD kit that came with my FP all installed in the basket, supply and return. It did however remove the pump if you are thinking about leaving. Either way removing and modifying the basket and or tank is not a big deal. The one thing I have always wondered is when I run the tank low and all the return fuel is going into the basket, just how warm the fuel might be.
  16. My truck had the in tank pump and I installed an AD II. It cam with a kit to eliminate the in tank pump and modify the fuel basket for pickup and return. It has worked very well. No problem running the tank dry. I would think Fass would have something similar. Not advocating AD, if I was buying today it would be Fass. Not knocking the mechanical pumps, folks seem to be having good luck with them. The truck looks nice from the one photo. How about some more?
  17. The last time I removed mine I used a steering wheel puller. It was a little big for the space but did work. i had never done anything like this before and it was not difficult. I used the instructions from Blue Chip Diesel. Thats who I bought the pump from. This was in my pre M1973M days. I used Mikes instructions the second time I took mine off. Either will get you thu it. It is mostly just turning wrenches.
  18. Even in rv parks where I have to pay a power bill, electric heaters are cheaper than buying propane. If I am seeing lows of 20 and highs in the 30's even 40 I can empty a 30# cylinder in 3 maybe 4 days. The furnace at least the two I have owned are and were gas sucking pigs.
  19. I bought my last 3 gauge package from Vulcan like you. The sent me one wrong gauge. All it took was a phone call and the sent me the right one with a label to return the wrong. They are 'stand up folks.
  20. You want to check for the ac voltage while every thing is connected alt included and engine running. You want to disconnect the alt and then drive it and see if the gear hunting goes away. Both test will pretty much confirm the same thing. The volt meter will tell how bad it is.
  21. They dont use much at all thats for sure.
  22. I have ran the ev fuel pressure gauge for some now and it works fine. If you dont have one it is another very important one to have. About 2.5 years ago I added that same package to mine that you linked and they are still working fine. I put mine in a dash pod and am very happy with that. I had my old Banks ones in the a pillar, just thought I would try something different. You will like them.
  23. Some things are tough to resist. Check out the pm I sent you. It could be worse.
  24. It is very difficult to beat the exhaust braking capability of an Idaho potato. Their characteristics make the best for use in potato guns also. Just hard to beat. Check it out.
  25. if your alternator is going bad a producing alot of AC noise it messes with the electronics that controls your tranny. By taking the alt off line your just seeing if your alt is causing part of you problem. check this out.
