2007 5.9 Fuel Pump Fuse or Relay Location
my 59 is the ASD relay and 61 is a spare. The only fuel related relay is 51 that runs the vp. 62 is trans relay in mine with no relay plugged in.

What are your gas prices
It is running 2.18 here in northern Alabama. Reg ul is 1.89. Back home reg ul just broke the 2.00 mark and diesel is around 2.35.

2007 5.9 Fuel Pump Fuse or Relay Location
I have got the one from the site and found the fuel system relay going to the VP. I could not find the wiring diagram showing the lift pump circuit. My eyes were pretty tired last night when i was looking.

mad at 01 6 spd with a 1689
How are you checking for codes? key trick or scanner? Not sure about repairing the FPCM, I have never heard of anyone able to do that. Check that fuel pressure, low pressure can kill the FPCM due to lack of cooling.

Turns out that relay is for the VP. I cant see a relay that runs the lift pump; Where are you seeing it in the 01 FSM?

I have to say I have been thinking about the fan clutch on mine. I still hear it engage or disengage. It is hard to miss when fully engaged. Really roars. Maybe partially engaged it is not noticeable. At least to my worn out ears.

Fuel pressure drop?
My AD has a regulator to increase/decrease pressure with. Cant you just stretch the spring to increase the pressure and see if that helps?. You are seeing a little more pressure drop than me but I would think if you can keep the wot pressure 14 or above you would be ok. At least from what I have learned anyway.

2007 5.9 Fuel Pump Fuse or Relay Location
Well there is a fuel system relay in the under hood distribution box. I always thought the relay that comes with the aftermarket pumps was there to get the load off of the 'ECM. If that relay is for the oe lift pump then I have a relay triggering another relay for it to operate. Even the intank pump the Dodge installed came with a relay in the harnes and it was plugged into the oe pump harness. Again a relay triggering a relay. I dont have a FSM with me to look so I will have to take your word on it until I can look.

I have to agree with Mr. Diggler on the relay. The oe setup does not have a relay. It is powered straight from the ecm. My AD has a relay that came with it and it is plugged into the oe harness and it now is a trigger for the AD supplied relay. The oe lift pump had no relay.

Fuel pressure drop?
FWIW i have had my AD with quick disconnects for 5 to 6 years with no problem from the quick disconnects. The pump crapped out about 4 or 5 months ago and they replaced no questions asked. Maybe I am just lucky on the fittings. As far as your fuel pressure drop, what were you seeing pressure wise before? Mine idles at 19 and wot is 16. That is a 3 psi drop and not out of line with what you are seeing.

Beavers in the Sky
That's good stuff there. I saw an article on Wikipedia that said they were really looking for some wood. Just can't find the link.Nothing like screaming beavers.

Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!
A wrinkle or two? Stray gray hairs? Ya'll live in a different age bracket than me!!! My wife told me the other day how much better her skin looked than mine because she takes better care of it than I. I looked her square in the face and told her that they are earned and worn proudly. First argument i have won in a long time. still scratdhin my head over that one.

Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!
Just so you know the pasture I have i mind is the one at the house. The one that lets me do what I want to do. No more 8 hour drives to get home for a day and a half, just turn back around and do it over again. It's not about just sitting in the chair, it's about taking the time I have missed thru the years of being home. That pasture looks pretty darn good to me. It would give the time i need to run over to your house for some electronic diagnostics.

To M1973M. By the way I was senior in high school on the day you were born. I will get the pasture ready for you.

Cold blooded
Do you think it is a better product than the green EC?
-
Cold blooded
Curious as to why you would not use the green ethylene glycol. I believe that is what came in mine and the FSM says to use it. Is there something I am missing?
-
Cold blooded
Yes. It is fairly in expensive to replace.

I dont think it is the ECM since the trouble began well before the oe ECM went out and the problem carried over to the new ECM. The low temp readings predate the wiring harness being cut also. I have since soldered the those wires back together, so i dont think it was the splices but still think it is in the wiring. I guess I cant rule anything out yet.

FWIW I have dealt with the same problem for 8 or so years. It got so bad that when the temp dropped to 160 or less the Banks Ottomind tuner I had would quit working. I finally took the tuner out and the temps stabilized a bit around 170 or so. I even installed a cheap suncoast temp gauge. Now it seemed to read higher temps near 190 most times I looked at it, but the lead was short and the gauge was under the hood. That made comparisons iffy at best. it has since stopped working. I have done that same as you as far as new coolant and t stats, from a $15 Stant up to a $65 oe replacement and one cummins t stat with no change. I sent one of those t stats to Mike who ran it in his truck for some time with no issues. I have also installed 2 new temp sensors with no difference. my temp has since, over time, settled down to mostly around 180 to 184. I have no idea as to why. Even today I can be cruising down the interstate at 75 mph and the temp will, out of the blue, fall of to around 160, 165 and hang there a little while then go back up to 180 or so. This happens very rarely now. The only 2 ways I can get the temp any higher is to strap the 5th wheel on(15k #'s and 28'-8" tall) and hit the highway or put in the winter fronts and climb a steep grade when 60+ outside. That will get my temp up but with either as soon as I am cruising on level ground, it is back to 180. I wish I could help you solve the problem but I have never figured out what mine is. Something in the wiring is my best guess. I do feel the engine is running at the proper temp but cant prove it. One day I am going to install another temp gauge that come into the cab and compare the two better. By the way I am reading my temps from my scan gauge that stays close to what the dash gauge is reading. Of course they are reading off the same sensor so they should.

Power steering fluid
I would put in what ever redhead recommends. Some pumps dont like but one fluid. i would have to let someone else explain the difference between the two because I dont know.

0122 followed by 1693 once APPS is replaced
Aint that a hoot. I guess the only NorCal you will see with me would mean North Carolina. It seems to me that most of the items I pick up at whatever store has something in it that the state a cali has determined can cause me to get cancer. Guess I will just shrivel up and die. Might do it there just so they have to bury me. I take that back, they would probably bury me in Nancy Pelosi's yard.

0122 followed by 1693 once APPS is replaced
I agree Me on getting codes. You got find the problem before buying expensive electronics. I have a similar issue on mine right now. My truck was surging, mainly only noticed it at idle, but surging anywhere from 1% to 8% and setting a 122 or 123, I forget now. I was convinced that it was the TPS, but not sure. So I ordered a TPS off of Ebay for $16. Installed and low and behold no surging no codes. So I went ahead and ordered a new Timbo apps to replace my old one. Installed it and the engine starting surging within a couple minutes. So I reinstalled the el cheapo from Ebay(from china by the way) and no surging but it did soon set the cel, 222 code, and every so often surges just a little, almost un noticeable. i believe my problem is in the wiring harness. My point is that I have a problem and am not sure what it is, but I am not buying anything else until I know. When it comes to chasing electrical problems I would rather replace my dash and HVAC box than chase electrical gremlins. And welcome to the site.
