  1. You should not have to, but as mentioned above you will not be able to use your old pump as a core. I have not seen anyone accept a core that is not like the one you purchased. Core charges are around $500. I have a 6 speed also with an HO and it performed very well with the Banks chip I had on it. It has since died and I replaced it with an Edge comp only to find my clutch will not hold it. That is another $1000 I get to spend. Unless you are trying to go crazy on the power or just have an extra $1500 to drop on a new VP, the HO will serve you well. It is all a matter of how much money you want to spend.
  2. That is unereving. I just bought a 98 SL2 about 4 months ago. I aint a v12 like Nick has but that 4 cylinder screams. Of course the thing weighs almost as much as ream of paper.
  3. And you sir as I remember have pretty good taste in trucks. I fell in love with this one the minute I saw it. But i never thought I would be driving 14 years and 353k miles later. It has become part me. While I have had some problems along the way,ECM, tranny, VP and other normal things, I have a lot less money in this than buying a new one. Dont think I will ever part with her unless she just dies outright.
  4. Damn, I have a rare HO 6 speed too. Just not a dually.
  5. Glad you got them in there.
  6. I buy from both harbor freight and northern tool with good success. I cant justify snap on prices for how I use them. I bought a 9" pole saw from harbor freight and took down a 60' maple tree with it. All but the last 18' feet of it anyway and it still works fine. Even that surprised me.
  7. Been there myself and its good to be back. Good to see ya'll back as well. Texas, good luck with the 1st gen.
  8. I see where some municipalities are lining up the lawsuits already for befouling the air. The lawyers have got to be over this.
  9. If you pump the clutch and it does not help or bleed the system you have and it does not help, dont buy a new master/slave set up because it wont help either. If you did not see any fluid loss from the hydros, that is most likely not the problem. I looked on Rock auto at slave cylinders for the 00 and the 02. While there were several different shown between the the two, there were several of the same also.
  10. That is pretty cool! Dresses up the area.
  11. If the hydros were not opened they should have remained ok. Just to test, try pumping the clutch and see if it brings the pedal up. When my master cylinder went that is how my clutch acted until I got all the air out it. This would eliminate that as a problem. What clutch did you put in?
  12. They came on 6 speeds with the HO engine.
  13. 65k on the first set. That matches my best on Micheline LTX's, 65k
  14. I am on my second set of Cooper ATP's. First set did real well, hope these do too.
  15. Guess I saw the 1300 and forgot about the other tires.
  16. 1000 to 1300 a year. I have never had anything to drive that little. Maybe in 3 1/2 years after I retire. If I get to that low a mileage Mike might beat me back from the moon.
  17. I have been running the 80W-90 in mine for a while now. I do tow heavy but very seldom, about 2k to 3k a year. I move it about every 4 months. There seems to be no ill effect. No noises or leaky seals, the LS seems to be working properly. Think I am doing any harm to anything? 353k on it right now.
  18. The super moon part of it had to do with the fact the moon is at its closest point to the earth which made it appear even larger than normal. Apogee or perogee i forget which. All in all a pretty rare occurence. http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-34375868 Nice pictures Bill.
  19. Drove back to Alabama tonight. Overcast all the way back from NC to Al. Managed a glimpse of the moon coming out of the shadow was all.
  20. My list, although different, is about as long. Need some time at home to do them. Good luck with yours John.
  21. at least the lift pump is acting normal.
  22. I dont know that your ECM has failed. When mine failed it showed so many codes I got writers cramp. No code for the ECM being bad. The WTS worked and so did the fuel pump.
  23. Starter going out? Same thing mine did when it went. How old is ti?
  24. I have been the internet ECM route and was sorely disapointed. I have no idea if PCM's are any better.
