Vacuum pump - Rebuild time!
Thats all you are worried about? Like I said on the other day, mine is starting to look like the EXXON Valdez. I think my next job is near home so I can park the ole girl for a while and work on the to do list and fix those pesky leaks.

Install fuel pump in series with in tank pump
Actually neither one of mine were connected to thru the ecm. The intank pump was connected thru a relay Dodge installed with the in tank pump and power came right off the battery IIRC. The booster pump was connected to an oil pressure switch I installed on the driver side of the block with the power off of the battery. I never did figure out what fried my ECM. not that computer savy.

Just upgraded to hx35, not happy
Some of the HX's come with a v band to clamp the exhaust and others, like mine, bolt up. seems the v band is more prevalent I think. I have not seen that many to know, just basing this on what I have seen and read here.

Fuel pressure gauges and needle valves
I have an add a fuse, but this one just fits in the fuse slot and the fuse goes right back in the slot.

Fuel pressure gauges and needle valves
I believe you can tap into the wiring under the dash, but I could not tell you where. I am sure someone else will know.

Fuel pressure gauges and needle valves
I have mine tapped into the #5 fuse in the fuse box in the cab. I have this little thingy that after removing the fuse you plug it into the fuse box and replace the fuse. I put it in so long ago I dont remember what you call it. It came with my gauges. The #5 fuse is the illumination circuit for the dash lights and will dim with the dimmer control.

Fuel pressure gauges and needle valves
He has no isolator. I set mine up almost identical to MM's. Needle valve in the line between the fuel filter canister and the vp. Piped straight to the mechanical gauge in the cab. Mike is my hero.there's you some love Mikey.

Fuel mileage update
When my truck was new I was not real happy with it. Mileage and power were not what I expected. I was talking to my wifes cousin about it and he sympathized with me. Told me something had to be wrong with it because he got 20+ mpg out of his 454 Chevy. Never could figure how big a trailer he was pulling to get that mileage.

engine running hot
The thing that amazed me is how difficult that is to see on your radiator while it is in the truck.

Fuel mileage update
That would be correct. I am empty at about 7300#. I got about 10.5 to 11 with the 5'ver in tow. That was at 60 tp 65 mph. 65 mostly.

Vacuum pump - Rebuild time!
That one is the Goulds kit. I have heard a lot good things about it. Just not sure I need all the extras. - - - Updated - - - Had you ever done one before and was it fairly self explanatory when you took it apart? Appreciate you bringing this up Mike. Looks like I am going to have some time to work on mine soon.

Fuel mileage update
I can get 425 out of my first 1/4 tank and then 300 out of the next 5/8 when the fuel light comes on. The needle does not move till I get 120 miles on the odo. It has been like that since I took the in tank pump out. The first time I drove it after adding the AD I thought i was getting 25 mile to the gallon. Boy was I surprised when I watched the rest of it go so fast. - - - Updated - - - no propane here, just wishful thinking.

Made a flag pole for my truck!
Just never cared for him that much. He is a heck of a driver I will give him that. I was a big Rusty Wallace fan for his career. There was a gal that used to work in our office who was a Gordon fan and she had a magnetic 24 on her car and I used to take the 4 and put it in her desk so she would ride around with the 2 on her car till she saw it. The best thing I ever saw Jeff Gordon do was run out of gas at the Winston(thats the all star race now that we cant have tobacco in racing anymore). He had it won except for the gas. How do you run out of gas in a race that short? Anyway all that dont mean nothing. We all have drivers we like and ones we dont so dont take any offense by it. Thats just racin!!

Air dog Raptor 100 pressure is variable
I dont know what is inside of mine. I set it 2.5 years ago and it has held since. I figure if I mess with it now I'll start having issues. But if we get to the point of needing to know the difference I'll open her up.

Air dog Raptor 100 pressure is variable
I would think they both accomplish the same thing.
-
what interval do you change oil/oil filter at?
Thought maybe you had a little mini cummins under the hood running some secret device.

what interval do you change oil/oil filter at?
What is the little filter beside the oil filter for?

Made a flag pole for my truck!
Looks good. I am just not sure of that 24 on rear window though.

Tow or haul ?
One of the things that attracted me to this forum and has kept me here is the freely shared information on what we do with and to our trucks. We dont all do things the same way. That is how we all learn, from each other. Sometimes if might not come out right, but some times s___ happens. I try to keep a small crow bar handy for quick removal of the foot from the mouth.

Fuel mileage update
I am working in Terre Haute In. I have made 4 trips back home to NC. I fill up before I leave and it is 627 miles one way and I am running 75 mph. I fill up when I get home or back to work. Every time it takes 33 gallons +or- a 1/4 gallon. That is 19 mpg. Before the RV's I got 18 mpg for similar trips.

My ADII has an adjustable regulator and I have not touched since I installed. Got it set to 19 and it is still there. Installed it 2.5 years ago. The regulator might be different on the II vs the other pumps, I dont know.
