EGT gauge
I guess I left that part out. The job is almost over and its time to head home, the rv and me. The Ottomind took care of EGT's and boost fooling. Since it is gone it will be up to me. Figure I can handle boost with my foot and tranny. I would like to monitor the EGT with the gauge. Lots of grades to pull from Terre Haute back to Hickory. - - - Updated - - - I pulled my egt gauge today and I have 4 wires. 2 to the light and 2 to the gauge. My thermo couple has 2 coming form it. I took the 2 wires off the gauge(not the wires to the light)and connected the two from the TC. I am getting a reading of 90* at idle and when I rev the engine it does go up. I no there is no way I am idling at 90*. I would have to assume that i need 12v to make it work and currently I have just wired the TC straight to the gauge. Gotta be something I am missing here. Bare in mind that you are talking to an electrical 1st grader here.

EGT gauge
I have not pulled the gauge yet. I did take a quick look at the thermo couple and only see on wire coming from it. A very heavy gauge wire. I will investigate both a little better tomorrow. Thanks for the info Tom.

EGT gauge
My Banks system seems to be causing me some problems. Enough that I have removed it and am seeing some improvements in performance. The system came with an EGT and boost gauge both connected thru the Ottomind tuner. They neither one work now since I have removed the tuner. I will be driving back home in about 2 weeks and must travel thru the Blue Ridge to get home and I would like to at least get the EGT working. Would any of yall have an idea of how to wire the gauge to the thermo couple so it works?

I dont believe you have to have a CDL if you are under 26k or hauling hazardous materials, even commercially.

Zimmerman, then and now...
I did not dwell on this case but what I did see of it there was not enough evidence to convict GZ of anything. Even some of the prosecution's witnesses corroborated GZ's story. I think both parties were guilty of bad judgement, and unfortunately one lost his life. But the system did work as it should. However Eric Holder is going to find a way to stick to GZ. Now thats the system working at the whim of a few people and will be a great injustice if they follow thru.

APPS question
Did your new sensor not come with any instructions? Do you know who it is made by?

Seat belt light
Mine has been doing it for a long time. I figure a loose connection and have just learned to ignore it.

Trans and edge comp
As said a slipping TC is much like a slipping clutch. RPM increase with no speed increase,

What route did you take for ECM replacement? Dealer or rebuild.

Trans and edge comp
Leave it on and wire your right foot to a stun gun and set it to nail you when you get to crazy.:lmao2:That is one thing that drew me to the banks, it was full power all the time, just use your foot for control. But for what it is worth my banks has died and now I need something more. So I am .......

Occasional Dead Pedal
What kind of fuel pressure are you seeing? Idle and wot. I went thru the same thing and fixing my lift pump situation cleared it up. When it happened to mine i would have to restart the engine and it would work like normal until it happened again. Get the codes read and it will help a lot.

Mine does go to the overloads with the 5th wheel. Just settles right on them. I only move my 5th maybe 3 times a year. I am sure thats why mine still work good.

2001.5 Emergency Brake Article
They will wear out. When you do the rear brakes you can pull the rotor and have a look at them. I just replaced mine but had a leaky seal and the one side was trash. IIRC they dont have alot of pad on them when new.

Turbo Trouble???
Some lateral movement is ok. There is a write up on the turbo in the articles section.http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/24-air-system/122-turbo-inspection I have never rebuilt one but it does not look difficult to me. - - - Updated - - - I would however leave any advise on a rebuild to those more knowledgeable than I.

My overloads still work fine. If i did not have any I would have added air bags. My old trailer weighed right at 12k and I pulled it with my 96 with no overloads and it could be a little squirrely at times. The one I have now at 15k would probably have been to much for it.

Mopar1973Man's Crankcase Vent Modification
The holes came from the factory. Still have my oe holes included. It is supposed to be emptied every oil change. Try getting an oil change place to do that.

I could not enlarge the spec page, but from what I could see, an empty weight of near 9k#, and a hitch weight of 1k#. None of that would be more than your truck could handle. Bare in mind that loaded the weights will go up. I am hauling a 5'r that weighs about 15k with a pin weight of about 3k# and she handles it well. I am about 3k#over weight how ever. The trailer you have chosen is well within the factory ratings for your truck and should be ok. That is as long is I am reading the spec sheet properly.

Pikes Peak, test passed
Sounds like you had a lot of fun and the Jeep is working good. Next time you go that high, try it in plane and go skydiving.

Runs fine low power
I have made all my donations but one with pay pal since i have been here. There is alot more to be gleaned from here than just an FSM. You can download it for free at PDFtown.com. Hang around and you can get alot more to go with that FSM.
