  1. i can understand that it just seems to be such asmal differance in viscosity appreciate that info. nice video. how knots on the forehead until you got used to working aroung that pair hanging on the receiver?
  2. good to hear.:hyper:
  3. my owners manual calls for 75w/90 gear oil for the front and rear diff. is there any reason that you cannot use 80w 90 gear oil insted. the reason i ask is 80w 90 is plentiful. i can get it in gallon jugs, quart bottles whatever. 75w 90 only comes in quart bottle here and finding 5 in one store is almost impossible. just wondering what you guys think.
  4. that was a little more than expected. i should have remebered that beings my vp came from blue chip. very happy with it so far. it appears to be a advetrised. now we will see about the longevity. i have a 6 speed and could not use that one.
  5. good thing is i wont be taering into the dakota this weekend. supposed to be 102 tomorrow. bad news is there is still plenty to do around here without the dakota.
  6. cant seem to climb out of the gutter. bum foot, cant climb.
  7. ditto on the question above. what is a blue chip x. enqiring minds would like to know.
  8. mike has wood and a screamig beaver. must make you proud mikey.:hyper:
  9. to beat all my wife calls me a tells me the parts are here. i just got home and only have the upper control arm. the rest is coming from another warehouse. all that for 10 bucks. go figure.
  10. i buy some of my stuff from rock auto. they do have good pricing. the shipping prices are somewhat inconsistant. i just order for my 06 dakota, front whell bearing hub assembly, upper contol arm w/baljoint, and lower ball joint. shipping just under $10. thats gotta weigh 40 pounds. i cant figure that one out.
  11. happy you got her fixed.
  12. sounds like you need a wiring diagram and start following the wires until you find the bad connection or wire then repair it and you should be good to go. i dont know if mopar has an 06 diagram in the down load section. i dont think it would be hard to come by on the internet. Electrical is a weak spot for me and i am not good on procedure. i just looked at mine and there is only couple of wires to trace, but wiring diagram is going to help alot.
  13. mine spins with the truck off. i believe they all should spin when the clutch is not engaged. you might have a loose or damaged wire in the connecter or the harnes causing it to come on and off.
  14. sounds like the clutch is working intermitantly. bad connection? bad clutch? thats about the imit of my knowledge on ac.
  15. had to think about that one for minute. seems there more of us in the gutter than previously thought.
  16. when my master went, it would work fine and then just start letting out on its own. then would work good for a while and do it a gain. finally it just went completely. i replace just the master cylinder. it took alot of pumping to get the air out of it but it has worked fine for over a year. i just replaced the slave when i changed out the clutch. the one i bought had a bleeder screw on it. bed it a couple times and it is working just fine. i never took anything out of the truck other than the two cylinders.mine also never showed any sign of leakage. evidently iwas leaking by the seals internaly
  17. i saw it last night and decided to cut you some slack for a change. i have to agree with ah, it is hard to fall into something you never quite got out of.
  18. i have been a member here for just over a year. i still amazes me how much help i have received from you guys. wether my truck trailer or wifes truck. you guys are great. i hope i have been able to provide the same assistance to some of you that i have received here. Thanks to all of you.
  19. that was agood one:lmao2:. maybe he needs a trojan. i was thinking he would do nothing since the batteries were in backwards. i pretty much live in my rv since i am on the road so much.the past year and a half has been tuff. computer problems then front end problems then tranny problems then brake problems. spent a lot of money on the truck while the trailer just sat there, pretty much ignored. the one battery has served me well because we dont dry camp. it has always been i rv parks. second battery will have to wait. i am hoping nothing but some routine maintenance for a while on the truck. the trailer seems to be working good right now, though the fan on the coverter seems to be non functional. will see if i can replace it. for now i have a small fan blowing on it. thanks for all the help.
  20. home and installed a new fuel pressure gauge and big line kit. spent 2 1/2 hours trying to figure out why the truck wouldnt start. thats when i remembered that you have to replug the vp for it to run:doh:. finished my sunday by loading up a load of trash to take to the dumpster. very exciting.
  21. in the construction industry you can ususally tell when an engineer of any type has had field experience or common sense or both just by how things go together. if it doesn't work i calll them, if they have either of the above traits the problems go away quickly. one that has just graduated or has never left his office, it might take days to solve the problem. id like to see them auto enginneers working at my garage. it is called a gravel driveway. your grand father sounds like a wise man.
  22. my rv only has one battery, unless they hid one somewhere. my first rv only had one. i'll have to think about the bunny.
  23. i can see by your post you have no problem with posting links. i did get me a new battery today and all is working good now. i will start plugging my fuses in soon and make sure everything is ok. i am not sure but the fan on my converter might not be working. i will have to see how it looks in the morning. i know my old battery was very hot this morning. the new one is working fine. not even warm yet. the converter was pretty warm also. neither to hot to touch, but warmer than they should have been. i apprciate all the help from you and russ. I hear Rough Rider make a pretty good battery too. you can get at most service stations.
  24. thats a pretty nice set up there Mike. maybe if i put my battery in the iving room i might remember to check more often. i noticed that your batteries are Trojans, are encased in rubber by any chance?:lmao:
