  1. Maybe they can excavate an acient dealership with FSM's they have find a Rosetta stone to decypher. Like our Egyption ancestors.
  2. Dodge seems to think their tow mirrors need them, I think I would put them on there. Of course this is just an opinion and we all know about opinions.
  3. I could get it up to about 4 psi on the mechanical but the SGII reading was stuck at 14.6 and did not move. As far as the truck brain goes it was seeing 0 boost and would not fuel very much. As far driving, completely gutless. I could cruise the interstate at speed, 75 mph, and accelarate very slowly on the flats and slight slopes. But you would have to take run at a 2% or 3% grade. Any thing over you could do but you better be in the slow lane. No fun but better than sitting in a motel another day.
  4. This is what retired free ranger chickens in their spare time. I think the chicken foot on the front end got him messed up.
  5. We are being flooded out my way. It is raining from Mobile Al all the way up the I85 corridor to the coast. And its freaking 65* out. I need scuba gear and a periscope.
  6. He should still be able to see a constant 12v on one of the pins with the engine running shouldn't he?
  7. Is the sheet metal on door strong enough for the long run?
  8. When the failing it was going in out of working and not. During the times it wasworking you could the MAP sensor doing the same thing. Got the new pump in and had to order MAP delivered at home and drove 200 miles with the bad one.
  9. There is a pin out on one of the ECM on one of wiring diagrams in the articles section. That will show you the pin # for the pump. It is a pita to get to as you say. Unbolt the fuel filter canister, if you still use yours, and move it out of the way. Access is much better. Use a straight pin and stick it in where the wire goes into the connector. Then start the engine and get a voltage reading at the pin. At least you will know wherher or not its the ECM or the wiring. @Haggar is one of those power supply for the short prime and the 20 second or so run when bump the starter? I would have to assume so. Why else would you need 2 power supplies to one pump? I have to admit I never noticed it before. If that is the case one those wires will only be hot briefly at key on then hot for 20 seconds or so when you bump the starter. If I am right @hex0rz only one of those pins will be hot while the engine is running.
  10. Just to be clear I am speaking of testing at the pin on the ECM itself and not at the plug you connect to the relay. There maybe a problem between them. As far as getting the prime and such back the ECM controls that. The only other way I know to control that is put a switch on it.
  11. I have had good luck with SMP until that sensor failed. It failed ar the same time the VP was failing. And i mean the failed simultaneously.
  12. Did you check the voltage at the ECM? Could just be a bad wire or connection.
  13. Oriellys told me the new has a lifetime warranty, Standard also. Lost my old receipt and they had no record of me buying it. So I saved this new receipt and the old sensor and figure I will have a mysterious failure in the near future.
  14. My Standard,$90 from Oriellys, lasted about a year. Failed when the VP did. Coincidence, maybe.
  15. My 96 had a V 10 in it. It got 12 on the interstate and about 6 around town. That was 1 of 2 reasons I got rid of it. The second was # 10 piston was in the oil pan, never ran right after that.
  16. I have run 265's on mine since new, they were option I chose, and instock condition got 18 mpg on the interstate. Rv275's and a tuner got me up to 19+. This is strictly interstae driving.
  17. Last time I looked for Cummins MAP they were $175 or so. Last one I bought was from Oriellys for $90. Made by Standard in USA. Only lasted a year or so though, failed when VP failed. Lifetime warranty. Hopefully this one lasts.
  18. Just get someone to turn the wheels back and forth while you lay up under the and see whats moving. My steering had gotten some play in it and while doing this I noticed the joint at the pitman was loose. The nut was backing off and the joint was flopping back and forth causing 90% of my play. Think I might have damaged mine from that. Need dedent week end to check it out some more.
  19. I for one have always liked the Dodge tow mirrors, except the manual ones. PITA to flip those up then have to adjust them from the inside. As far at convex on the passenger side, I like the ones without. The small convex one does the job for me though bigger would be better. Nice install though @Gregturley, enjoy them
  20. How do those look from a 100' out looking back at the truck? I know picture are a bit deceiving but those look extremely bright.
  21. Never had a jetta but 30 mpg would be cool. The only time I have seen 22 was out of a pump labeled bio mass diesel. The butt dyno could not feel any difference between that and anything else. I put about 30k on mine last year and like you I pretty much buy whatever there is buy from where ever. But if it is a well traveled road and I know the stations that have the best prices that where I stop. My truck will burn it all just fine.
  22. You ought to be getting 16 to 18 mpg minimum on the highway. Someething else has to be going on. Mine got 18 off the lot. My 96 with a V10 got 12 mpg down the highway. Just wish I knew where to help.
  23. My first lasted 215k, the second about 225, third one about 30k. On my fourth one who knows how long it will last.
