  1. Do you have brake lights? I see your truck has 340k on it. Id just go ahead and change mastercylinder. Calipers proportioning valve danged near everything in the system could be culprit. I did a master cylinder at 300 when my brakes quit when temps dropped below zero. I also wouldn't discount power steering and vacumn pump. Everyone says they don't effect brakes but ive learned different. Id assume at 340 youve doneca vacumn pump seal and probably power steering pump but maybe not. I did vacumn seal but didnt do steering pump. Now im adding fluud to my steering pump a couple times a week if i drive much. I can now feel the steering wheel in the brake peddle when pumpnis low brakes definitely have a different feel. Vacumn pump seal, power steering pump, master cylinder. Consumables that dont last forever. I was silly not to change steering pump when i had it apart.
  2. Very nice. Whats the story on your old ford. Looks like a solid build platform
  3. I guess putting the stick back in is acceptable
  4. I dont think youd have run the phone 24/7 most of us run required gauges already so no need for a monitor only use phone to tune then forget it. Hopefully im not wrong.
  5. I just looked and it says built in egt boost etc with gaurdian angles ;) So i dont think it comes with gauges or sensors but i dunno. You going to control it with your phone?
  6. I bought this to ream my jeep knuckles to chevy 1ton tie rod ends. 1.5" tpf(taper per foot) 70 bucks. Ive reamed 2 sets of jeep knuckles and two pitman arms. I think its got lots more life left. Potential money maker. Its kinda exspensive tool but very worth it. I do think the dodge taper is 1.5tpf from 03 to now maybe. This reamer will work on both tie rod ends and pitman arm. Pitman is same taper just slightly deeper. I could be way wrong but i dont think i am.
  7. Ohhh damn that sux Build it then chuck it, put a auto in its place 47 48 Allison something , quit rowing the gears and turn the power way up.
  8. skepticism Says reduce fuel and power to increase driveability. I do think your truck will be a good test of reality for the quad and mike. Im currently not a believer in the quad ferries. Horse shoe bend hill might be indication of improvements or what the hell this thing is ball less but atleast runs cooler.
  9. So it was the ecm. I chased grounds for a months or so thought i fixed it a few times. Water in fuel lamp kept randomly coming. Truck kept shutting off. The ignition switch. It made its way back to the shop again after i put time and money in it. They let it idle for 4 hours and it finally shut off had power on one side but not the other Truck is going to roll passed 500k in the next couple months
  10. Haha old thread good info on almost everything except 12valves.
  11. I run the 727 style in a deep pan with filter extension. What did you end up doing?
  12. Austin, Looks good, i like what i see on the intake side. What do you have going on here?
  13. Lol Good reply. Good info i think its worth more today
  14. True the quad small turbos and big injectors have theyre place. But theres a potential for melt down thats my main concern mpg realy isnt a concern set cruise at 80 and roll. Look at it this way people read this forumn they run 150s a stock turbo a quad with whatever tune they buy or heck maybe no tune. They drop injectors in hook up to the toy hauler camper the family jumps in get fuel then melt the truck down on the first hill going to lucky peak. Reading the forumn does not mean they have mikes 20 years of 5.9 experience they dont see the evolution of these trucks from new to old trucks the after market has taken over. Many minds have changed and evolved with these trucks. I can not recommend tuning first before the correct mechanical parts are placed together. Syco I'm not sure what turbo you have for sure but i see one says stock to 110 injectors. So likely will take some fiddling to be happy. And damn are prices up in the last year seems theyre like 300-400 more then when i got mine
  15. I think mikes truck is being towed around by a heard of magic ferries thats why he gets such good fuel mileage and low egt pulling with stock hx35, now its got a turbo and seemingly floats around at an idle while whistling to the ferries or maybe whipping so mpg stays in check and exhaust drone bearable
  16. Yes dirt. We usually get a couple storms a season that put down 12" but usually over 3 days or so.
  17. Power makes heat your either pushing enough air to manage the heat or your not, theres no in between. I do think guys are scared 62 turbos arent quick enough on the bottom. But man my truck is pretty damn quick. I also think most dont tow . Yes the quad can take all the power away to make it run safe temps with a decent load. But why not put that same money into a turbo that actually works with the injectors. It is a viscous circle more fuel means more air more air means more fuel. The quad can make this circle bigger or smaller but only within the limits of the mechanical circle.
  18. Turbo is to small not moving enough air. Your having to peddle off like you have a hy35 still on there. I wouldn't count on any programming to cool you. I run through eisman canyon with 15k behind my truck at 80mph at 1100 1150s. Thats actually about where my egt stop climbing. It use to bother me that it climbs fairly quick to there even accelerating on flat ground but it preheats and holds it. I do have an itch to try a 62 68 12, compared to 62 65 14. I kinda feel like these guys suckerd you into a Basically stock turbo. Theyre all about the 150s and tune tune tune with quad to manage heat . Uhhh no
  19. I always get a pass cause im doing snow removal pushing the massive 2" storms we get. Ok ok sometimes we get 3. Ever 5 years or so we get a few ft storms and town goes dark and shuts down. We're doing walmart this season. Its been about 5 years since we last did We did get a couple foot storms and pushed for days with no sleep. Im getting older now and the excitement of the big push is gone. We have 5 machines pushing but only 2 go around the clock scott and i. It is fun but id just sume stay pushing the brown stuff
  20. Ive heard some places officers hand out tickets if your out driving in storms. I to have had factory halogens ice over and been in snow so heavy it doesn't matter how good my lights are. The halogen on my snowmile is always wearing a thick layer of ice and its on when the machines running. Technology trends led so thats wherevim going
  21. For 2001 yes. For 2000-94 pitman arm would need to be reamed or replaced with 2001-2002 pitman arm. On all trucks about 1/4" of thread needs cut of tie rod end at pitman arm to be able to center drag link to center wheel. I have a thread somewhere with photos where put moog 2008.5 plus steering on my 02 and 07 work truck. Ill see if i can find it
  22. Correct. Even the morimoto led bulbs with fan blowing heat towards the lenses snowed over on me.
