  1. Wow, that's impressive! Also check out Michael's Frantz by-pass filter. W/ the by-pass you could run anything available. Supposed to clean down to 3/10th's of a micron. I have one on mine, filter replacement is less than a buck! Dave
  2. Now I need to know what to expect. I'll make sure I get them. Thanks, Dave
  3. I will not be running heated WVO, as per Bosch requirements for the VP44, fuel temp to the IP should not exceed 90F. Part of the job of the fuel is to keep the pump cool. CTD spoken here, Dave
  4. NOTE TO SELF and Joe...........as soon as you get the Air Dog 150........open the box up, take out the life time warranty card and mail it in IMMEDIATELY. There is a 15 calendar day time limit after purchase grace period to mail in the life time warranty card. If you don't.........then the unit is covered by a 1 year ONLY warranty.
  5. [quote name=' But now increase the fuel pump to say 100 GPH and now do the math. 20 / 100 = 20% so that means 80% is being return under the heaviest load and plenty of cooling and lubrication is occuring. But there is a hitch to this Now the lift pump has to be able to keep above 14 PSI at WOT to keep the cooling and lubricating going. Once you start dropping below 14 PSI the overflow valve on the return line start to close that means reduced cooling and lubrication so once the fuel pressure falls to 10 PSI the valve is closed and all extra cooling and lubrication is gone...[/quote'] That's why you're the GURU here! GO CTD, Dave
  6. Gr8 advise Dually! After you cleaned your grounds, did you put any electrical grease on them, like guys do on Battery posts. Just was wondering if that's a good idea or not is all. Thanks,Dave
  7. Cumminspower,Gr8 name by the way, & wecome. Where do you live? Just curious as to what temps your truck may encounter. Do you keep it in a garage? That does help slow down the moisture, condensation problems like Russ has. If it's outside at least keep it off the bare groung or gravel. One thing for sure by following your severe maint. schedule your doing the best that you can for your truck. Get some fun weekend getaways planned so that you need to use it. When I'm not hauling hay w/ mine in the summer, I'm pulling a 74 King 2-horse trailer that I rebuilt this Aug & Sept. Painted it & am using it as a tailgate party vehicle. That trailer is a prime example of what happens when you leave something parked on the dirt, but that's another story. (No it doesn't smell like a horse inside, I might! (-: )CTD,Dave
  8. Coolant Temp was normal? That doesn't make sense to me either. What codes did you throw? I'd check there first.Let us know,Dave
  9. I went w/ a used Frantz I bought on Ebay. Thinks I have 100 or so bucks in it. Frantz I was told, filters down to 1/10th of a micron.Guys use those spnner II's for filtering used veggie oil & they work gr8 for that as well. That's for the two tank WVO system.Dave
  10. Thanks Diesel, My next question was going to be about the warranty, I was wondering if Air Dog stood behind or gave an excuse, like for me, sorry, not covered because you are running BioD w/ it. Thanks you all for your comments, Dave
  11. Hey gassernomore,Thanks for the strong Rec. for the Raptor. That's what I'm getting & I like the fact that it's a gearator pump too! Thanks,Dave
  12. Hey JL, What happened to your truck? Don't you just love it when things work out as planned? Congrats, Dave
  13. Huh? I thought these pumps were pretty much bullit proof! The only one I like better is the Fuel Boss but too much $$$$$$I'm keeping an eye on this thread just so I can learn about the Raptor. Thanks for posting here. Great site, Micheal & his guys know a lot about Dodges & Cummins. Welcome!Dave
  14. Make sure you read Michael's sticky on vp44 min fuel pressure. The first gauge to add is the FP. Get rid of the restictions in the fuel sys. That's the biggest killer. Save your money for a Fass or an Air Dog type of unit. That's what I'm doing. The way I'm going, I'll be 80 before I get all the weak spots taken care of. So I just drive it like I want it to last a million miles. Eventually, I'll need another VP44 & another TC but I don't want to break the bank before I need too. Savin' for an Air Dog Raptor, gettin' close I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. :-) Makes good cents to me because I want to run my own BioD.Also, a bypass filter like the Frantz. I bought a used one on Ebay & went to the wefilterit site to get all the parts I needed for the install. Deb worked with me, she was great!Happy CTD,Dave
  15. South Bend clutch, that's about as good as it gets I thought! Huh? Slave cyl maybe? What did SB say to check? Good thing you're not driving it for now!Dave
  16. Gr8! I will keep that in mind. Will be a plus when running BioD. Much cheaper than the stock Fuel filter. Even if I went through Geno's. Around here a FF is about 30 bucks at the part store. I'll check out your site & bookmark it as well. BTW the Raptor is only a pump w/ an ajustable pressure valve w/ no filter(s), for those you you that are not familiar w/ the Raptor. I was going to keep my stock filter w/ heater, so your inline system could be the ticket! Thanks DieselAutoPower! Dave
  17. I have 172k on my truck. Any recommendations for getting a replacement ECM?
  18. lol! --- Update to the previous post... I've done it both ways, it's still work! As for getting the bolts off the tank straps, I use my 1/2 CP air impact gun w/ a deep well 6 pt socket. I also use 2 floor jacks to bring it down & put it back up. It's usually me, myself, & I doing all the work. So I try to make it as easy as I can to make the job as painless as possible. It's a bit easier if there is only an 1/8 tank of fuel. One thing though, I've never been smart enough to figure how the electrical connection comes a part. I'm always afraid that I'm going to break it, don't want to do that! Again thanks, gassernomore, rockcrawler69, white01, & of course Main Man Michael! Dave
  19. I agree, my 98.5 is pretty loud, but I like it like that. Some people like to tease me when they hear me driving past them by sticking their fingers in their ears. I usually give a big smile as well.So did your valves need adjusted? Michael's way is very straight forward! Need to check mine again. I'm glad Cummins used a rubber gasket too!Dave
  20. Hi Guys,Thinking of purchasing one of these. I like the adjustability of it & the fact that I'm using bioblends or adding filtered WVO in warm weather only. Above 10% my low pressure light comes on till I add more diesel to thin it out! Been seeing it around for about $365. And since Michael thinks the Fass Dodge Direct Replacement is junk.Any thoughts? Thanks,Dave
  21. Yep, same for me! VP44 or VP$$!Thanks for the hood knownledge!Dave
  22. My oil stayed clean, like when I first put it in for like the first 5,000 miles or so. So for me the proof is on the dipstick. 1/2 a micron filtration is pretty amazing when you think about it! Another bonus is it also is a bit of an oil cooler. The oil galley on top of my Cummins is now clean w/ no black used oil junk on the rockers, springs, so it's doing the same for the entire engine. My mileage is 188K, my instal was 10k miles ago or so. I just use regular Rotella & add either that or Lucas oil extender. NO BS here guys I wouldn't tell you it doesn't work if it didn't. I had a 6.9 Ford that as soon as I changed the oil it was dirty, my Kubota is the same. No Frantz though. Install on the Cummins is easy, there is a plug right on the stock filter housing that the by pass lines taps into, it get filered & goes back into the top of the engine via the oil fiter cap. Also take a look at Michael's used TP w/ 5K on it, does it look like any of the filter is sucked into the motor? There is a wire mesh screen that holds it all together, along w/ a lock ring! A huge plus is filter replacement is less than a buck! TP is Scott 2ply that is available at my local convenient store. Think I found it at Sam's Club, Wally World, & Cosco.I'm a believer,Dave
  23. Hi Michael,Thanks for posting the pix of you Frantz canister opened up. I was changing the TP & forgot how the inside parts were supposed to go back. It does a wonderfull job. Glad I followed your endorsement. I have 2 plus years on this oil & this is my 3rd filter change. It's really helping to keep my budget it check! Thanks for helping to keep my Mopar running young,Dave
  24. Also the AirDog is adjustable, I was checking out the one for running BioDiesel.
