  1. What, no duct tape? > I've been living on borrowed time for a year & a half, 12,000 or so miles, since I bought it. My time is getting nearer, still starts great, just when not warmed up is the only time she doesn't want to merge like she should. So I allow for that. It ain't broke yet!The check engine light came on a month ago for a few times but off now. She's not a daily driver so I have other cars to drive. Till then, I use her when I need to.I have that original link bookmarked. Not looking forward to that purchase, :thud Dave
  2. Yes unwashed Bio can be a problem, it has to be good quality, as Michael has stated, that is the key.I had the tank down a few times last year & my tank was just as clean as Michael's.One can not run Biodiesel in a 6.7, at least not more than B20. What I don't understand is how a DPF system can use more fuel per mile & be cleaner burning. Where is that extra fuel per mile going?
  3. BTW, good luck on your first Cummins diesel, my third Dodge Truck, Sixth Chrysler product, second diesel, but first Cummins& I love it! B)
  4. My ABS light came on & all I had to do was bleed my breaks. I thought it was a sensor as well. Maybe it's something as simple as that. Does your pedal feel low or spongy? Took a lot of air out of my RR, the rest were fine. Good luck, Dave
  5. Most guys do a valve body & upgrade the TQ. Another good measure would be a trans temp gauge. Still we're talking some money here, that's why I haven't done mine yet.Sun Coast, is that a complete tranny? That would be the way to go, that would probably last the life of the truck, as long as you don't start pulling a sled w/ it! :D Dave
  6. Thanks....................BTW.................Like the new look you gave you site, sorta like HD! :thumbsup
  7. Michael you sent me a link on the turbo schematic. May help to understand even a little more clearly.Dave ;)
  8. Bio fuel is supposed to be the best lubricant & a natural cleaner. From what I've read the B20 combination is supposed to be the best for performance. After that point, above B20, the BTU's per gallon drop off. In the summer, guys run it 100% Biodiesel w/ no problems as long as it is fuel grade quality. The amounts that you are running are supposed to be good year round. I don't have any access to local bio fuel but with EPA requirements some states are now or will be requiring small amounts B2, B5 to be in regular D#2. Much like ethanol is now in gasoline. There is talk about bio fuel to be on the same status as E85 flex fuel according to BIodieselmagazine for EPA regulations/emission standards. You are actually doing something good for your fuel system & going a little greener. Should significantly help the precious vp44!Run it like you own it,Dave :thumbsup
  9. Thanks LIVEOAK,For posting that for me. I thought that the draw straw is needed if there was an in tank pump? So AN fittings are the thing huh? Thanks again,Dave
  10. Hi again Keydl,Thanks for the tire lesson. We only had 4 days of 90 degree temps here this summer, so heat is not really an issue in NE Ohio.I'll keep all your info in mind when I buy tires next time. I'll see how much I have to use her this winter. Last year there was salt on the roads here from Thanksgiving to March. Some reprieve in December but not much. If I drove it more I'd would consider those BFGoodrich T/A's for the rears. Had a 76 Dodge 150 that was a daily driver that I never really had any trouble w/ getting stuck even empty.Quite an array of light diesel trucks. Do you run any WVO or biodiesel in any of them. A guy from the Cocoa Beach area gave me a WVO blend formulation that I had some luck w/ running in a 6.9 van. Was sort of based on the diesel secret scam that is going around, especially when the price was up over 4 bucks a gallon.I'm not a stranger to Honda cars & ATV's. I've had plenty. Accord, Prelude, (Wife's summer car) my third Civic, del Sol, (my summer car) Vtec coupe, & now this hatchback VX. I had the coupe parked in the drivway & a teenage kid came up a offered his 71,000 mile Miata for my 185,000 mile Civic. My wife said to do it, so........ Sitting in back garage waiting for paint. resto project! Some rust but mostly dents, dings, new clutch, rear shocks, crack in rear bumper, factory style wing, new top & some door seals. Fun, fun!Still my most favorite vehicle is my Dodge Cummins. I love the seat of the pants feel from my stock truck. I can't imagine what a hopped up one of these would do. If I came into some money, Trans upgrade, Veggie Fass pump, ss twice pipes, new IP, BD steering brace & a repaint. Clear coat popping off in places. I admire the dually fat fender look, looks hot rod to me w/ those deep dish syms. ;) Dave
  11. Where would I be able to get an Everstart Maxx yellow top. That's the one your now running right. Anyone else have a favorite battery for their Dodge Cummins? Whats the life expectancy? Going on Six years on mine, that's why I'm asking questions! Dave
  12. I always get the 1693 code when I Get my codes checked. So there must be moments when the we have communication breakdown?
  13. That must be a newer updated posting, as always great tips!
  14. Geno's will get you everything you need to do the install. Just tell that what year it's for & where you want to run it from, the IP, fuel filter, or line, like the way Michael did it. It would be great to have a Cummins motorhead nearby. I just know enough to get myself in trouble. :D This site is as close as it gets for me, but grateful for it! Dave
  15. Hey Keydl,What a fast assortment of tonners, as you call them. Two of everything! So the 93 your first diesel. Many folks like that 90-93 12v, saying that is the best of the best. You've got a keeper in that one. I've got to check your sig to see if it's stick & what style cab.Yep, ice is a pain in the neck. I usually don't drive mine in the snow if I can help it. Only a few times last year, to get hay or something that was it. A friend of mine gave me a 94 civic just to get it out of his driveway after he bought a new vehicle. Wasn't running, needs a battery & maybe an alternator. Thanks for the tire lesson! :thumbsup
  16. Never had any trouble, knock wood! Like I stated, both batteries have been in since Dec. 03!ISX,The Maxx batterie is an 860 amp. Why do you think that is the best one you've seen. Saw it yesterday at Wally World of 75 bucks. Not the yellow top I don't believe though. I've always had good luck w/ Interstate. That's the only batt, other that factory, that can fire up my Kubota in the winter when it gets close to zero F!Dave
  17. I found the Scott 1000 at Wally World yesterday, ends up being 71 cents a roll. Not bad! Cheap insurance! Thanks for posting the pic of the used roll for all of the doubting Thomas'! :smart Dave
  18. Sure! Mechanical or electric? Are all the fittings included in the price if mechanical? Where are you going to locate it in the truck. Pillar?
  19. Thanks Keydl! So the wider tires displace the weight better in the sand, is that it? I'm going to have to look to see what came stock on my 3500 in 98. Even my spare was a 215 Michelin.
  20. BTW. called Geno's Garage on Monday, shipped it on Tuesday, Received it on Thursday, from Georgia to NE Ohio, & installed the same day.Dave
  21. In this instance the TP does not break down. It gets held in place by a screen. & probably because it is so tightly packed together. It does not show up in any trace form in all these guys oil analysis. Good enough for me. Besides this is not new, this technology has been around what, for at least 50 years. Good enough for a man, in the can! (Both situations) :thumbsup Dave
  22. I would give your supplier a call just for a little bit of re-assurance on this one. Maybe he would have advice on what he thinks works best for the parts that were installed. Couldn't hurt! :bulb Dave
  23. Great! I went with the Frantz, like Michael's, hoping to get the same results. I love seeing clean oil everytime I check the dipstick. I'm thinking with my dipstick! :smart Get one of these if you really want to save money in the long run, have clinically clean oil, & run your Cummins for a long time! Just get a by-pass filter. :thumbsup I'm about do for a TP change. What do I need to get again, Scott 1,000 single ply? If I can't find that, what else does a comparable job? Keep up the clean work, Dave
  24. Yep, I hear you Russ. Man guys are running wagon wheel tires, skinny rubber, one has to look for the tire. man, the pot holes in the roads we get around here. My Bro-in-law, had his wife switch his bank because he didn't want to drive his new truck on the road the bank was on. LOL True! The bigger sidewall just needs more tire shine? B) Dave
