Danger..... 7 pin Connectors
Are you saying the male plug comes out of the female plug or the cord itself works itself out on the male plug?

Danger..... 7 pin Connectors
I wasn't there but apparently it shut off when it hit the ground. Worst part was the gas station was owned by his son in law.

Danger..... 7 pin Connectors
I've never dropped my cord. Well except that one time when I pulled away and forgot to unplug it . That's one step better than Dad did when he was still here. Pulled out from under the gooseneck with the tailgate UP . Maybe that's why they make the tailgate 6" thick on these new ones? At least none of us did like Grandpa and drove away with the gas nozzle still in the Lincoln Town Car .

Changed turbo and exhaust manifold - now I have white smoke under acceleration
That article has it backwards. Step 7 says tighten the injector and then step 10 says tighten the crossover. It should be changed. I mentioned it before but it's still backwards.

WOT upon starting
WOT for how long after start-up? 1 second? 1 minute? Does it happen every time or just after sitting a while, or just hot, or just cold?

Which Mechanics Creeper?
I'm on my second Craftsman in my life. First one the casters gave out and wife got me a new one for Christmas before I got them replaced. I kept it as a backup. Still didn't get the casters replaced.

Carrier bearing shot
@Doubletroublethe more I think about it mine came from AutoZone and not Advance. Either way it's the same Chinese crap . Merry Christmas!

Carrier bearing shot
Mine came from Advance several years ago and is still going. I remember something about the 2 different sizes. It's been a while but I think there was a physical difference between the two that I could see. Like one has the bolts on the inside and the other on the outside. Like I said it's been a while but somehow I got the right one without measuring. Yeah, here we go. Of course if yours is like mine you want the expensive one

Water in fuel, light. Truck died on me.
Many codes won't trip a CEL. I would check with a decent code reader and report back. I hate to say it but a delayed is a sign of a failing ECM. I'm leaning towards electronic issues but lets see what codes if any are stored.

Any codes in it?

4x4 indicator light
I was just about to say that. I agree with Haggar. Probably the bulb.

Water in fuel, light. Truck died on me.
I don't have an AD so this might sound like a dumb question, but how do you get a light with the stock filter deleted?
-
Water in fuel, light. Truck died on me.
Both filters? Meaning the air dog filter and the stock filter on the engine?

Changed turbo and exhaust manifold - now I have white smoke under acceleration
I agree, and I doubt a manual would fare much better at the task. Stall stopping was brought up which is why I mentioned it. As you said the only good way to stop a runaway is to block the air intake. I suppose if one were worried about it a piece of 3/4 plywood could be kept in the engine bay for just such an occasion. I'm told a hose clamp works in a pinch too. Heck I'd even stuff a chicken in there if there was one around at the time. On second thought catching a chicken involves running and bending over and with my back and knees I's just as soon replace the engine again.

What to look for in 1st Gen?
It's still for sale. Use the stimulus check that Pelosi is gonna send you.

Changed turbo and exhaust manifold - now I have white smoke under acceleration
I would think trying to stall stop a runaway Cummins with the anemic Dodge brakes would be a chore no matter what transmission, but if I had to do it I'd use my lockup switch after I had the truck itself stopped and off the road. Hopefully I'll never have to do it.

Put it in neutral?

COVID blues
The good news is that as Joe- John work tirelessly in the first 100 days to wipe the ICE off the face of the planet, our trucks will soon be worth more than our 401k's and we'll be able to afford enough sheets of plywood to build a nice box for ourselves should we choose to sell them. It may sound bad now, but once we all get the covid vaccine laced with a small amount of socialist kool-aid it will be all good. Trust me, and Joe, oh, and Nancy. Can't forget about her. I could go on and on about these left wing socialist #@$%&**'s but I'll stop before I get wound up.

COVID blues
Don't worry. It'll get better. Once Joe and the newly appointed climate change 'czar' John Kerry get rolling....... yeah, it'll get better

Some nice 47re info and tear down
Thanks. Good info. Not everybody can travel to the left coast and spend a day watching a guy in person, but a good video can be watched anywhere.

Code questions
I built an aluminum flatbed with my spent beer cans. Working on side boards now. By the end of this election I should have enough for that......... and a tailgate too. Is there room behind that couch for me?
