  1. I see hissing! You got two birds that don't look happy.
  2. Well, you see... AH64 is on a business trip, and we didn't think he would mind...
  3. JAG1, that really must have sucked. I doubt I can fully understand. The families of vets sometimes pay just as high of a price as the actual military member. On your side note, Bill... I don't advocate for our politicians or the horrible way the wars have been run. However, if you are advocating isolationism, I disagree completely. Isolationism is one of the causal factors of world war 2. Isolationism wasn't even a viable option during the Revolutionary War. If anything, I would argue for more of a presence along with a properly operating Department of State, but we seem to miss that mark these days. War is, and has always been, politics by other means. Our duly elected civilian leadership has not done a good job with their end. To that, I blame the leaders the american people have duly elected, and the people aren't devoid of that culpability completely. I do not under any circumstances, blame the service members who do the job they are given.
  4. What was the range of temps?
  5. My aluminum deep pan keeps temps pretty stable, I never see it move more than 20 degrees below coolant temp except in stop and go traffic. I wonder what temps are "normal" in manuals and in our differentials.
  6. That would be where I would start looking... You can pull them and have them pop tested, or just get new ones.
  7. Bet you have an air leak somewhere on the suction side of the fuel boss..
  8. Wow. That is a tame goose to not be hissing and biting. What kind?
  9. These trucks just break sometimes, like ah64id when his engine went. I doubt it is your maintenance.
  10. Tfaoro. Dang that sucks though, mike. No fun. Tyler is looking for a g56.
  11. Hmmm.... then mabe treat it like an analog control system and put a resistor in line with the servo.
  12. I think a restriction in the system might help, but it would not be ideal. I am willing to try it though. Ideally, we would increase the resolution of the cruise control brain while slowing down the rate of throttle movement. I'd like to have an adjustable cruise throttle application rate in cab, to slow it down when I'm light but speed it back up when I'm heavy or going uphill. Another thought would be if we could have a moving average of the input speed signal. Is the cruise servo driven by the pcm or is there an analog brain?
  13. Dripley, consulting in retirement would be awesome. A lot of the old oilfield guys I used to work with went that way and loved it.
  14. They fit, but getting the right paint fade, hail damage pattern, and rust shading to match is real tough.
  15. The 727 is a great transmission. It provides great service and is pretty simple. There is a reason that the classic design has lasted so long. The guys that built it had some real sharp pencils. I like the new stuff, but I'm a big fan of old tried and true technology.
  16. It's a fine line between cost effectiveness and good service vs perfection. Usually perfection puts companies out of business.
  17. Isn't it M73M that uses a thin film of non abrasive goop for his boots?
  18. I should have a new one here out of Nebraska this next week. Thanks though!
  19. Well, last weekend it was me. This weekend it was Tyler. I wouldn't drive your truck next weekend... haha.
  20. Doing a quick search on Car-part.com doesn't look great. Looks like they are going for about 2k-2500 for a G56. They will want a core as well, but in many cases the smaller yards will take a NV4500 as a core if you talk to the right guy. Boot Hill Truck in Denver is the first place I'd call.
  21. The AR platform is one of the most inherently accurate rifles by design. Very few unnecessary parts and extreme repeatability compared to older designs and most newer ones... However, it isn't made for hunting. Though they do serve as excellent varmint and deer rifles. If you haven't shot one, they are extremely fun. The AR and ARFCOM started my whole gun nut life... all I wanted was one. Yeah, one. So much for that! As for my shooting, I have been way too busy for a while to do much, but I have been casting my own 405grn bullets and loading old school black powder 45-70 rounds for this thing, made in the 1880s... One of the most fun guns I have ever played with. I really want to go shoot a .22 lr competition this year, they have a tactical 22 "sniper" style shoot that goes out to 400 yards or so. My .22 is at about 88 moa of elevation at 400 yards. And once in a while, some other stuff gets to come out and play.
  22. Wow, its kinda ugly up here between Co Springs and Denver on the front range, but no 32 inches. No joke, I have a pretty late build 02 and it is 14 years old. The first 2nd gens are 22 years old. When I bought my Barracuda, it was only 30 and was a legit OLD car.
  23. I'm an ar15 fan as well... but love the old curio and relic stuff most. For steering gear, blue top in ND i where I'm sending mine. I pulled it today.
  24. Depends on what you want between features, power, tunabilty and cost. Smarty, tst, edge, quad, etc. Used vs new... what are you wanting to end up with? Nobody has a crystal ball for your truck to last another 100k.
