  1. Dorkweed only demolition derbies cute ones so he gets her address and phone number.
  2. Joe your truck is a total wreck. Please bring it by here for a good price.
  3. Or whats the most miles you ever heard on a Dodge trans that's original? Mine has 82 k on it with no sign of problems. It's been hauling heavy about half those miles.
  4. You know what they say to a guy standing on a precipice......... Don't do it.
  5. After a run remove your fuel cap very slowly and listen close for air suction like the tank is under vacuum pressure. If it sucks air your tank vent may be clogged. There is a way to do the vented cap mod too if you wish. Just drill an 1/8th inch hole thru the underside of the cap in between the little spokes on the star wheel looking dealy bob. Drill thru the white plastic first layer only not all the way thru.
  6. It' cool just to slow down anyhow, enjoyable, you get better gearing when you can watch all the cute ladies going by
  7. Why can't you slow down for using 3rd gear on the uphills (tow haul mode)? It's easier on the truck. That's why I always let the other guys running uphill just go by and pass. They seem to like doing that a lot but I see the poor truck just giving everything its got on some loads.
  8. I think there are lots of people who like the look of a second gen better. They are sure holding their value around the big city Portland, Oregon anyway. I see them for 18-22 k for nice ones.
  9. Tyler, thanks for clarifying the situation with Blue Chip Diesel. Loosing $100 to find out it's not worth the effort dealing with a certain company is one thing, but having to change the pump 3 times to get one good one on top of it, well, that lost hundred would feel like a kick in the face, would get my goat. I think it is chicken crap they kept your hundred after all the work you did.
  10. Paul you read this wrong... I'm not the one who went thru so many VP's. I just complained about Blue Chip Diesel in the customer mistreatment department based on What TFaoro said. But, I do understand what yer saying.... I should not bad mouth somebody not knowing all the facts. You are absolutely right. I apologize to everyone concerned esp. Blue Chip Diesel.
  11. I find it very maddening that a company that gives such a write up about how their VP's are better than anyone else could do that to you. I think if Chip was still on the job it wouldn't be that way.
  12. Yes GM replaced them and gave him a hundred thousand mile warranty from the time they were replaced.
  13. So is that the same injectors that leak fuel into the crankcase without warning when they start to go? Could have this wrong but, I think you told me this too, that they cost 3 times more money than second gen Cummins injectors.
  14. we Have the same year trucks and our mileages are really close but, he laughs at me having the Cummins because he heard about my injection pump that Mike just replaced. Laughs at me cause I don't own a 'problem free' Duramax like him. Tell me..... what injection pump an 02 Duramax has.... isn't it a VP also, built for a 8 cylinder diesel? Thanks all
  15. What is that thing at the top?
  16. Thanks Kitt for deciding to join in the fun. They made me a director and I still have to have the wife post pics for me and snail mail all my donations. Well..... one reason is I refuse to have credit cards anyway after the shenanigans they pulled in the past.
  17. Thanks Nick, that's all I need.
  18. I did post some up awhile back showing the work I did. Problem is, doing a search of the forums I cannot find them. New pics are difficult because the slide in camper is on the truck for the season right now. Best I can tell you is go under the truck , looking up at the bed frame, particularly the bedframe that crosses right over the tank lid and module. When that gets cut, you have to plan out how to frame that back in for bed/floor strength. Be prepared to spend some time doing that. I took my time and spent a whole weekend and then some getting it done. I also think some of you younger guys can figure a better way than my fix. If you decide to go ahead just make darn sure about where you are cutting first. Drill small holes in the corner of your 4 cuts and go back under the truck to see where it ends up first before cutting anything. Once you cut that out you can see better about what to do, but, like I said, if you cannot plan out what to do first.... don't do it till you do. Prayer always helps too
  19. 1/4'' aluminum diamond plate fits flush to the bed corrugation. Remember to stop the cuts on the left and right sides leaving the lower corrugation to hold the cover when screwed down. You'll find a lot of work in building steel framing once you cut the bed over the tank module, but, it's sure nice for getting access and pulling out the module in less than a couple minutes whenever you need.
  20. I hired a new guy a few weeks ago but can't stop calling him 'Nick'. His name is Pete and keep telling myself to call him by his correct name Pete, but it so happens there are four other Nicks.... Nick the Plumber, Nick the electrician, Nick the sheetrocker, and there was the concrete cutter that made me very happy we got him on time. His name is Nick too. So by now I've called this new guy' Nick' so many times he just answers to it anyway.
  21. Were these weak points in VP's all the way up to the later 2002 model trucks? Must have a lot of miles on that truck.
  22. and there's more rice rockets to stomp the pedal on around here....
  23. Do I detect an ulterior motive? Ryan probably wants to make you an offer on this truck. Wish I could find a manual 12 valve to replace my first gen work truck.
  24. For normal mantainance you want to be on a miles schedule so I would at least change the oil and filter first before starting. so I knew that was changed. Oil is hydroscopic in addition to what CSM said so I would want fresh oil before starting. Check the fuel and change the fuel filters if needed.
