  1. Yep, I've never seen our grassy areas this brown so early in the year too.
  2. Another item about fireworks is there's too many smoke plums coming out of an area from everyone doing it. In other words, it's too difficult to tell weather there is a real fire emergency, someone may be in trouble.
  3. Looks like the potential for thunderstorms near you Mike, went more northward Even still I hope they are weak as they are here cause they did not develop at all
  4. It's cloudy here now feels really nice but you can feel the thunderstorm convection starting up. I hope Mike, that you don't get lightening strikes there either. BTW...... 113 degrees?! that's impossible isn't it. I'll take mine over easy.
  5. This weather is getting serious out here in the PNW. We generally have this type of weather for a couple weeks with rapid evening cooling. This year it seems we have another continual hot summer. Unrelenting heat from a well entrenched high pressure system blocking normal marine air.. It is very strong and accounts for our not having any real winter. It looks as though it's going to be around for awhile is my worry. Doubly serious with the amount of beautiful forest land we have. It's a great resource out here. The streams and rivers are abnormally low as if it were the end of summer the way they look. Our tallest mountain in Oregon is normally covered in snow about 75% to almost 90% but, now looks more like a giant rock with only about 30% coverage. I know throughout history that God destroyed those cities and empires with drought and famine the more it became like Sodom and Gommorah and yet our supreme court says it okay to have same sex marriages. What is wrong with these idiots aren't they educated? What about our children.... who do they think they are to change God's law... sending this evil message. I pray for all you guys on here that we don't experience God's wrath because of it. You can delete this Mike, as I know it may be extreme but I'm just sick about America.
  6. Yep, get good hoses all around, cut grass short and keep a good watch. With the terrorist warnings in the U.S. this July 4th, they should probably ban all fireworks.
  7. Usually we get one more good rain in the NW just before the 4th. I don't think it will happen this year. Plus it's unusually dry. Sometimes I wish they'd ban fireworks in dry years.
  8. This good lesson.... Cummins owners should pull the intake tube and inspect everything after any work is completed, before driving off. I don't think it matters on a ford truck
  9. CSM, isn't life great? Some things hit just right, like a home run. You'll have to make it to Mopars 2017 full eclipse meet and greet then I can put in some fresh ground coffee brewed just like the Cowboys did it.
  10. I think the manufacture date on my Air Dog Raptor 100 makes one of the newer version pumps. It's been on there for about 5 years with about 25,000 miles on it. I can hear the bearings squealing at times but still holding around 19 at idle and around 15 hauling heavy up hills. Time to request a new one since the mount is an easy frame mount change out
  11. This is a great post. I should know this by now but didn't. Thanks CSM.
  12. I know that many diesel fuel systems have run for many years with the 2 stage filter system like everyone's talking about. Mine has a 30 micron water separator before the lift pump and then down to 10 micron factory filter. I like the Racor because it says it's designed for the suction side of the lift pump and like the clear bowl at the bottom. I don't know if other brands specify which side of the lift pump or not.
  13. It wasn't me..... If ever I'm around don't leave any bolts laying around with an open intake tube
  14. Since you changed my injection pump Mike, my mileage has gone up. Lie-O-meter is showing high numbers on cruise control on the flats. Never seen it show a steady 25 miles to the gallon before going. Of course I only use it for comparisons as I know it's off but nice to see anyway. One more note is I've found the fuel to be much better quality at those private filling stations. Truck accepts higher gears sooner than usual, and fuel is lasting longer. I have a feeling they are selling us paint thinner at the public places. I know it isn't right because the better quality diesel makes my truck come alive. Feels like a powerful hunk of steel by comparison.
  15. No just semi dark. I think the problem stemmed from mixing two different P/S fluids, one synth and the other original dodge stuff.
  16. I drove the truck tonight after the full flush I'm happy to report everything is fine so far
  17. That's my truck and camper (back and white) camped next to Mopar Man in last pic. With automatic trans hauling around 3500 lbs, I'm getting 14-15 0n the flats but drive easy at about 60 mph.
  18. I just got a tricle when running steering wheel back and forth. When I started it up and placed my foot on the brake that's when it really started pumping out. Hope that was the right way because I did it from the power booster and boy did it pump out.
  19. I'm glad you got it fixed. You must be living right to have gotten a new/ used line so easily
  20. Are you stuck somewhere besides home?
  21. An average run of the mill voltage meter cannot read the correct amount of AC noise the alternator is throwing out. I had to go get a good Fluke volt meter cause my other one showed 30 volts ac on every vehicle I tried it on. The new to me Fluke showed my Alternator was marginal at best so it got changed out before any damage. Also like Mopar Mike says, it is good to disconnect all grounds and charge each battery as the chargers are bad enough on AC noise to hurt the ECM while charging also.
  22. I don't know but I think you'll need to go to Cummins parts. So it snapped from high pressure and fatigue? Is there a way it might work to cap that one off till you get home? This might be a bad idea however Perhaps a wrecking yard nearby. I've never heard of this happening either.
  23. Thanks Paul, '2 cycle Micheal' sometimes never details how to do something. He thinks we are all smart as him.
  24. If your patient, there are some good deals. Many folks don't know what the Alcoas are worth nor what they are. Thinking they are just some old ford rims. They were offered only on 95 thru 96 Ford 3/4 ton trucks and are still the strongest 16 inch rim you can buy. The only problem being that they are not the 17 inch like you want Joe. When I look up the price for new Alcoas (you can still get them new) they are around the $260 each price range. Don't know if you can get a 17 inch.
