  1. This place is out in the country and under the shade. It's a good place and the information can't be beat.... Welcome
  2. I really don't think I can help much..... but on my 02 the PCM ground goes to the firewall, just a short distance toward the driver side. There is another ground from PCM to the passenger battery, negative post. Check the factory connector in that wire. Some have chased away a problem by getting rid of the connector and soldering the wires together. I'm getting a little older and I accidently crossed wires and put full battery power thru all the grounding system. Truck thru codes and did strange things..... not shifting... temp gauge very high.... CEL was on all the time. I cannot remember all the codes nor every symptom but after disconnecting batteries for an hour or so everything worked properly on the truck after that. Had to have codes cleared and did not come back. I was very lucky my PCM and ECM weren't fried. Sometimes you'll find an alternator that isn't fully grounded thru the mounting bracket, with some resistance there. I ran a seperate ground wire off the alt. Just throwing thoughts, not parts, if it helps........... I do think the electrical system on our trucks is very sensative so therefore can easily be effected by any wiring anywhere on the truck that may not be in number one condition.
  3. what are you?............ 86 today:lol:. Happy B Day Mike
  4. i hear ya' on the batteries. When you bump the starter it should run the lift pump for 25 or 30 seconds.Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? If so, what lis it showing? Most likely you have a bad lift pump, but, I'd be checking all the L/P connections also.l/p should run all the time when the engine is running. 30 seconds or so when you do the starter bump and no engine start.
  5. Check your battery connections that they are clean and bright. You should always replace both batteries if even only one was bad. When I still had the stock LP, mine used to do the sputter and then smooth out after only about 2 seconds. But it wouldn't run contineusly for the 25 seconds till I bumped the starter. Then after starting the engine it runs all the time. This the way it's designed. When just turning on the key it sometimes kicked on for just a split second, that was it till I bumped the starter. Then it would sputter around for about 2 seconds, Sounded like the fuel flow was sort of bouncing around all the fuel line fittings and bends, till it smoothed out just 2 seconds later.I would suspect the stock lift pump above all else since they are not reliable. Then getting rid of the poor stock fuel lines as they make the pumps work too hard with poor flow.
  6. With O rings a lot of time hand tight without a wrench will get it to not leak. I wonder if you got them over tightened and 'mushed' or distorted the O rings.
  7. Thanks for the truck story. I enjoyed reading it.
  8. The only reason I can think of if it's got heavier gauge wires on the new harness for the bigger pump.
  9. Glaciers are disappearing, but, it may have more to do with warming of rock or earth as a whole (thermal mass build up) warming from increased underground volcanic activity? It looks like glaciers are melting more from underneath than on the surface.Look at the ice caves they recently discovered under the Mt. Hood Glaciers. They are the largest in the lower 48. These caves are increasing in size everywhere.
  10. The more diesel they pump out of the ground the more the land masses are sinking. Therefore....It's not the oceans rising.
  11. JR, Doesn't the chemical compounds in the MSDS show that yours has got some solvents? Eek! I'd be worried about that... or am I wrong here.According to my wife I'm way more wrong than right anyhow
  12. JR, What are you using for fuel additive? Are you sayin' you use the stuff on the above link you provided?I wouldn't use that stuff with all that solvent. The new ultra low sulfur fuel needs more metal to metal protection in it, like oil.
  13. I believe it too......... things everywhere are starting to show signs and wonders as the Bible says.
  14. I may have gotten lucky getting one of the older Raptor 100's. No problems so far in 2 years, but, I've got mine set up so it's easily changed back over to an oe pump that I carry in the tool box. No quick lock fittings, just 1/2'' fuel hose and clamps. Carry extra piece of hose just in case I have to cut it off the old pump. Here's how mines set up;1/2'' shutoff ball valve-------- pre filter-------- liftpump--------1/2'' shutoff ball valve.Shut off valves help a lot. keeps prime and stops a mess when changing filter or the pump.I should mention having the Vulcan big lines all the way too.

Thanks all you guys... probably saved me at least 90 bucks not having to worry about it. My wife really likes it esp. since we never had a real B-Q before. This ones got 3 full length ss manifold burners, a warming rack, 2 smoke stacks, temperature gauge and an outside burner for doing large pots. It's not a stainless steel one which cost a lot, but, the racoons raise havoc with one if you leave it outside. So in garage it goes when not getting used.
  16. Has anyone had experience with the new bar-b-ques that have the porcelan coating on the grills? I just got one and a buddy of mine says that glass coating comes off and gets in your meat. Not to good if true .Should I go find some stainless grills that fit? I can have them made too by a shop close to me.BTW my new B'Que has 2 smoke stacks on it.
  17. It must be easy if your a smooth talker cause, for example, look how many guys got suckered into buying a truck without the Cummins.
  18. Working together like that perhaps makes them last a long time.
  19. Cajflyn, I don't see how your current health insurance can go down when everyone else reports theirs is going up. At least as much as a third. You can't expect to get everyone else on the program without costing more. Our insurance is already higher from those that seek services and cannot pay, but, now with O care, want everyone to pay again. My local emergency services told me that 70% of the walk ins don't have a way to pay . I do pay for my own services without insurance and it saves me lots of money. Biggest point I wish to make is the services I have paid for in the most recent occasions were terrible at best. Prescribing the wrong meds and sending me through an expensive machine that was completely unessessary. When I learned what happened in the end I was angry. Doctor did not have the time nor want to make the time to do the correct thing during our appointment. Even when you have insurance your co-pay can add up to what costs you your home. Think I'll rather die at home and have insurance that my kids will get my log cabin and not the gougers.
  20. Wild and Free, thank you for the link.... a ton of interesting articles.
  21. I think this O-care will be running out of money in a short while. Probably due to mishandled funds, spiked retirements, full pensions to punish those who may have mishandled the program in any way. There is seemingly no end to our money going out everywhere in other programs so why would this be any different? Except because it's for healthcare, not taxes, they will have greater freedom to legislate more funding when the time arrives. I swear.... ever notice your drive to work on a government holiday? How much the amount of traffic is reduced? It's like there's one little guy going to work for every 14 gov't. workers taking the day off with pay Someone's got to go to work and pay for all that :bolt:Problem is... between you and me, We're never going to be able to keep up. It's going to fail financially. Quoting a well known pastor... You cannot expect the U.S. to stand on a firm foundation when they legislate God out of schools, the court system, and gov't. - - - Updated - - -
  22. I agree 100% with this. On mine, in order to clear the fuel lines with the steel plates I cut horse stall matt rubber to fit in between. But I don't know if the bolts would still be long enough for that.
