Nationwide Weather
It finally cooled off from some hot days here in Oregon. So glad to be able to get more done. I'm noticing days are getting shorter and prevailing winds/ clouds coming in from the northwest, not south and east. We haven't seen much rain since March... only 5.8 inches which is highly unusual for Oregon. Lots of times I see a 5 gallon bucket filled up in a weeks time in April. I am ready for fall. Need to get my wood in as we have had some unusual weather extremes in the last 18 mos. Never know what's coming these days, it seems.

Noticed Deteriorated Rubber Vac Line While Installing Injectors What Is It For?
When/ if either of my two trucks trans go bad it will go to Dynamic. I will have to figure out a way to get the truck up there as I don't want to R&R myself. It is so good to be able to build a truck better than new and not spend 80/90 grand. Thanks to this website and it's members it's been a wealth of information. @Deiselfuture uses clear tubing to maintain his transparency.

Nationwide Weather
It was a battle to sleep. Finally by 3 am I could move back into the bedroom away from the noisy A/C and sleep much better. It gettin weird around here with our weather. It's unbelievable the things we been going thru and Oregon used to be a very pleasant place, clean air, very nice weather. Now it just mind boggling thing to see the changes like dying trees and excessive heat. That's Dripley overseeing the new Chic-Fil-A going in. No one is allowed to sit higher than him at lunch.

Nationwide Weather
Thanks Dan. Heat was amazing last night because it usually cools down significantly after sunset but, not last night. It was still 80 degrees at 11 pm. We've had little or no rain for a long time and last spring, usually quite wet months, we only saw around 3 or4 inches for the three months. Something has flip flopped in the weather dynamics. I hope it rains soon. We need prayers from everyone with the very strange weather and epic events seen in the last year. It's really scary the things I'm seeing in the last year.

Killer dowl pin questions
Don't go ceramic clutch, shop says they a POS. Had a guy haul an rv for me with a ceramic clutch, what a pain, it just wouldn't slip, kept stalling the Cummins. MoparMan uses a ratchet strap to raise and lower the trans but, a trans jack would work. My floor jack would work too as I've made several adaptive pieces using wood to fit on the lifting plate. I have my wife operate the jack while I'm under there works real good for me. They still haven't caught three legged Dripley, cops after him... always gets away.... was seen doing 130 in the mergency lane other day.

My first explosive tire failure!
@Mopar1973Man with that truck each time you go into town you haul up another load of stackable blocks from Mutual Materials for your new wall. There are some nice looking walls/ styles engineered for varying heights for holding back the bank. Tell them height of the bank your holding and they can help.

Killer dowl pin questions
Also heat/cooling cycles make it walk out. Actually I am surprised your 2002 had one since I read somewhere the 02's rarely have one. BY THE WAY, How many you guys ever seen one floating loose ready to come out? I know a few of you have. Some guys say if you have 250,000 miles on your engine and you haven't had it come out that the likely hood of it ever coming out is nil. I say it best not to take a chance. If you have high miles it's good to go ahead with a new crank seal when doing it. That and retorquing the gear case bolts on block side of the gear case too.

My first explosive tire failure!
Don't be parkin' my future truck next to that wall if you please.

My first explosive tire failure!
What's the matter Mike? Don't you like watching the Piershide Meteor shower while driving with a load in the rear?

My first explosive tire failure!
I heard they can get lug nuts off in 2 seconds!

My first explosive tire failure!
Glad you are okay and nothing drastic happened. Nice to get a new set of meats that get you back to stock and beat the 3 legged chicken off the line.

My son the wrapper
Don't forget to set the bearings for 14 miles west of Bridgeport.

My son the wrapper

My son the wrapper
Thank you Dripley that's pretty incredible and pretty as well. I had no idea they can do that About 5-7 years if I remember correctly what Dave said on the phone. If you get a bad section you can just redo it if you buy extra and store it

47RE TRANS SERVICE WHAT FILTER STYLE TO USE W ATS DEEP PAN
I have two 2nd gens, one with the MagHightec pan and the other with the Georend Deep Pan. Out of the two, the Georend, in my opinion, is the better of the two.

Summer time heat
I read there is about a 2 MPG increase so the calculations on my desk said it was a good deal and paid for itself in about 1.5 years. Then add easy bearing rebuilds with standard bearings, no more hubs. There are many times I could use low range on hard pavement without the 4 wd. Working in a well to do neighborhood one month, other contractors working different homes up and down the same street. Many of their trucks had the 37's, some would snicker at my stock size going by. I could see that LOL but, one of them stopped me one day and said, ''Are you a woman, Why do you have such small tires on your truck?". I said because it's easier to work from a truck that's not jacked up, plus I am a contrarian, buck the trend, and go easy on my running gear without putting added leverage against the transmission and other parts. He says, Oh, okay and I drive onto my destination.

Do Not Order anything from ELC Hardware.......Scammers
What they want to do is cancel the account and send me another card but, since I'm running a business I wish not to wait another 2 weeks or more for a new card. So they are sending me a dispute form to resolve it. They also made it so that vendor (if you want to be nice enough to call them that) cannot place any more charges on the account. That was rotten to get me excited about grilling some nice things to eat for everyone coming to our camp this weekend. Paid for expedited shipping and it's not the money, it's the underhanded inhuman thieving dealing that really get my goat. If they were next door I would figure a way to legally hurt them.

Do Not Order anything from ELC Hardware.......Scammers
Yes I got sucked into their better price on a Bar-B-Que skillet. They are a scam company. After not getting my confirmation in my email I looked up their physical address which brought me to an Ace Hardware in Florida. When I called they explained I'm about the 36th caller to ask about an order and that ECM Hardware as they are called, is using their address. They turned them in to the Gov't but, they doubt anything will be done. Lesson to be learned, shared.......Never order anything from anyone unless you check all reviews and actually talk with them on the phone. Please be careful the world is getting crazier more lawless and little no one to keep things in check.

Oil drip on Driver's side (problem?)
Welcome to the forum. The best way to tell is use degreaser and pressure wash down the engine when it's cooled off. Just run short blasts over the electrical connections.... don't try to fill them up with water IOW. I let mine sit for a few hours in hot sun to let everything dry before driving.

Defective Head Gasket
I sit and wonder if there is a better head gasket direct from Cummins. I am worried it will happen again. I wouldn't buy anything unless I know who made it. There's enough work everyday without this happening. I am sorry Mike because you need some down hill not uphill. I think Dieselfuture's brew makes up hills look like down hills

Strategies for saving/ increasing net worth
IYW (ticker symbol) is a fund that has a little more than doubled my investment in a years time. It keeps climbing, but it might be worth investing in a similar fund that has the resources to do research to be able to jump in on new technology at a great time.

Thinking about getting a 3rd gen.
Worth noting that seeing some of the truck owners, people with older trucks that are kept so nice and built so beautifully that I find myself taking a closer look while the new ones get ignored. Not on purpose mind you, just there's something about a well kept older rig that's very impressive.

Thinking about getting a 3rd gen.
Just spending a fifth of what a new trucks costs would build a far more reliable upgraded 2nd gen. Easier to work on and you also know the truck well. Put the savings into a Lithium mining company for electric cars batteries
