  1. If someone knows something about generators with winter coming, my biggest problem is not having water when the power is out. My well circuit is 220 volt double 30 amp breakers with a 3/4 horse pump 550 feet away from the house. I want to get two Honda Gens to take care of that and some other lighter loads. Can anyone inform me of decent size gens to buy to help me with this. I like have two gens side by side as they are lighter and maybe quieter. This idea was first given to me by W-T but with what was going on at the time, I unfortunately, didn't pay enough attention to what he was telling me so any help would be great. T.I.A.
  2. If they want to stop fossil fuel use then they will have to give us jobs to work at home otherwise pay our bills and mortgages for us. There's no way to solve the problem. Bringing green growth back into abundance will help since plants take in the CO2 and make oxygen. With all the excess CO2 around does that mean we are shortening the supply of oxygen?
  3. I can't help you there but, I know the key has an arrow pointing which way it sits on the shaft. Either pointing toward the pump or to the front, I cannot remember but, very important for that key to be the right way. Someone will have to chime in but, I know you need the key at the top to help see how it's lined up and not knock it out of the slot when pushing the pump back in. When I did mine I took some whiteout from the wifes office and put a small dot on the key to help see how it's lined up with mirror and lite. Some keys are looser than others when they come back from the rebuilder. So some guys use a drop of crazy glue to help if it's lose. Anyway double check which way the key is pointing, either toward the front or toward the pump is important. Even the rebuilder can get it wrong. Did the pump come from an approved Bosch rebuilder?
  4. An electrician ordered a brand new Duramax for himself but, it took so long to get it from the factory the dealer offered 9 grand to him if he would back out of the deal because the price had gone up so drastically. It was a nice truck but, 87 grand yikes! He went on to say that he needs to get my job done and ready for drywall since he's taking the truck for a two week trip back to Tennessee to ready a home for his family to move into back there. I said let me know when you get stuck in Texas I'll come save you with my Cummins. We were both laughing about it with his other co worker while they were finishing up my job. Three weeks goes by and he shows up on the job with pictures of his new half circle driveway in front of the place he is selling here in Oregon. I didn't want to say it but, dang that driveway was shaped so perfect like the capital letter 'C'. I couldn't resist, '' hey, it's 'C' for Cummins! We were all laughing about that one too. Laughter and camping with family and friends, the two best things in life...
  5. Ah, now I see.... Mopar man when he calls or I call him we jokingly call each other names. It's pretty funny so I was hoping to get a rise is all. Not lately, I think he has lots going on making life a bit less light hearted. I think he needs to go to dieselfutures beer cave for a long visit.
  6. Not me, I only wish to spread a few smiles. I guess came across the wrong way... sorry about that.
  7. Thanks Doubletrouble. I am learning to accept the things in this world foretold 2,000 years ago, written down, given to us so we would know how real He is. He foretold these times before population explosion or waste and pollution where ever a thought.... Hence, I have come to relax because as we progress further into these times it allows our faith to progress ever stronger as you see it with your eyes and heart. Sorry to wax religious you guys..... it's the only way I can explain all the crazy things happening these last couple years.
  8. There is much more to blame than just a virus, which BTW are everywhere and our immune system has been very finely built to deal with them but, what I'm saying is there are many factors why we see this happening because our food, our water, our air have all been compromised in some way. in turn our immune systems have been comprimised. They are seeing the same with bee populations not able to fight off disease as well. Bird populations are diminishing in a lot of areas too. Another thing to consider is that our elderly population has never been as large as it is on the planet today and they are most vulnerable. Combine that with what the Gov't pays each hospital for taking care of a covid patient that passes and you can see the numbers. Additionally the only test known to find out whether you have it or not is not reliable. The PCR test will show positive in many cases of simple cold or flu because it cannot differentiate between different virus with a specific novel RNA. In fact the Corona Virus itself has not been isolated to show a specific novel virus. Keep in mind that it's long been known that a vaccine or booster shot causes the immune system to concentrate only on a specific type of virus thus showing a trade off in which your immune system becomes weak against many other types of disease.
  9. I run a quart of 2 stroke per tankful. 2 quarts if I suspect the injection pump is going. You'll notice it running better with it in there.
  10. We need Dans double layered Camo hip waiters sold in the store. They stretch easy too for getting up the ladder.
  11. A good shop won't know any more than you and Mopar1973 Man. I cannot trust diesel shops any longer. Seen some nightmares. Only one had ever passed my short quiz of questions. Have you been running 2 stroke already? I would also check filters for water in the bottom. There was one time that I got a dead pedal for about 3 seconds. I went to a shop that could read the acceleration graph on a SNAP ON reader while running and found a very small dead spot in the factory APPS. I carried a Timbo behind the seat and had him change it. No more problems since. That was about 10 yrs ago.
  12. It has to be blamed on the 'new variant'. That gets them off the hook. Imagine having to be reliant on a booster every 3 to 4 months... your immune system would be totally damaged.
  13. run some 2 stroke oil in the tank. American fuel has too low lubricity rating for the injection pump. I'd run it a bit rich at this point such as two quarts per tankful. Plus good fuel flow and pressure ( some will argue this point), I believe higher fuel pressures (19-21 at idle) helps 'float' the timing piston in the cylinder causing less wear. Right here @IBMobile has to put on hip waiters and get on a ladder from tall tales from Jag1 but, I still believe good fuel pressure is important. I found a good name brand 'Garrett' metal detector identicle in color and shape selling for half price. A reviewer wrote in and warned everyone to beware as it was a cheap Chinese knock off.
  14. Don't go with another factory APPS as they aren't built well and cost around 500 bucks. The Timbo Apps is far less expensive and more reliable. They are sold here in the store.
  15. Remember the shop vac hose in reverse to blow in the fuel tank building a small amount of pressure pushing fuel all the way? I had a couple very stubborn primes, difficult restarts, that I got to start this way...
  16. Okay! NOAA is seeing indications of a strong EL NINO this winter that Quite possibly could make up for all the rainfall shortages out west. This is good news except for potential mudslides. Excessively dry southern California may see lots of rain and some good size storms. They say it's been 4 years since they have seen conditions developing like it is. This good news. Get firewood in Go up check on the roof and flashings Clean gutters Spray concrete sealer on masonry chimneys Do not park near any leaning retaining walls...
  17. my 02 had a problem with that at 4 yrs old. I put small O rings on each screw head around the shank and the problem was gone. Still no problem.
  18. Where is Dripley? was he affected by the hurricane? Hope he's okay. I have a small DVD player that I watch occasionally. I can charge it and it lasts about one movie. I had to get earphones to hear it well. I have a pair of group 31's with a Xantrax charger that do well enough for me. I generally run a Honda for 4 hrs ea. day. It's not gotten any complaints.
  19. As soon as it reaches about 5 o'clock you can feel it cooling down very fast here in NW Oregon. In fact so much more so than the usual early September, more like October really. It's very nice. I wonder if this is an indication of a strong winter, of which we have not had for a very long time. I think I had better get more wood in. @Silverwolf2691, we have never seen conditions so dry like they are. Oregon known for it's large forests, the trees all look stressed except where I irrigated for almost 6 weeks solid going down my road and around the yard. Oregon used to have vibrant green, look so alive but, now it's different and we have never seen this before. I would gladly take all the rain you can spare... thank you. Thinking of a tarp in the truck bed, fill it up with water and drop the gate over some other trees.
  20. I'm glad you didn't get ''e''- gipped then. That's good.
  21. I like to look at that kind of thing too. In Nevada we have the darkest place, further from any lights anywhere in the lower 48. They say that the milky way looks so close it's like you can touch it. When I go see IBMobile at camp I avoid most all interstates. Makes for nice travels. I was at a fuel station and got to talking a long time with the attendants. I said I was sorry for taking their time but, one says, ''Oh that's no problem we got nothing else to do''! no other customers came in the whole time. Hey where's Dripley you guys? hadn't heard from him in a while.
  22. Yes this and with many other problems I think we are seeing a very rough road ahead. What we see today tells me we are seeing the beginning of times to come.
  23. Yes the Colorado feeds L.A. and where IBMobile lives. It's a very important water source for many people. We better be careful what we wish for as all of us out west have seen so little rain, everyone saying a drought this bad happens only every 1,000 years. Something like this could come back in a very big way and make up for lost time. One year many years ago people were having to tie their row boats to the entry railing in Portland. Of course not many I know goes there anymore with the trash, drugs and shootings. You wouldn't believe how beautiful that city used to be.
  24. These guys are correct because you do have to make sure the wheels are the same distance from the fender sides, thereby centering the front differential. If not centered with a stock length track bar then you may have a 2 inch lift kit in the front throwing the center off. This explains the wheel not at 12 noon. When I got a 2 in leveling kit I had to get the adjustable track bar to recenter the wheels. That made the wheel go off so I had to make several attempts at adjusting the adjusting sleeve up near the pitman arm (not the one that adjusts the tie rod ends). Don't mess with that. Anyhow it no big deal adjusting the wheel back to 12 o' clock, just keep driving a few times and readjusting till you get it right. It will not throw off the alignment. One last note.. I got rid of the level kit spacers above the springs. Didn't like the way it steered weird with big sag when loaded up.
