  1. Some guys figured out how to close off the outside air door with an added control, keeping the cold air from coming in but, I found going to A/C mode helps enough for me.
  2. Turning the upper knob to air conditioning mode while lower knob is on high heat helps some because it does not take in outside air in this mode. I been doing that.
  3. No center piece just the two front main ones. you'll like them. Every summer waah them down with a brush lean them up to dry and treat with armorall or any dash board shine and they look great.
  4. Yes I have them in both my 2nd gens. I like them and they fit good. I got grey in one truck, black in the other. Hands down the black looks the best no matter what color inside you got.
  5. Don't feel bad, 3 yrs ago I spent 16k for a 190,000 miles 2001 Larame. I got lucky in that it only needed VP, fuel system upgrades, front wheel bearings ,brakes, calipers, steering box, Heater core and evaporator (by IBMobile), new fluids everywhere, new shocks, new track bar, new set of tires. LOL!. Fortunately all this happened over the 3 yrs so it was affordable as it needed doing. I must have 23/25 thousand in this truck so far, now approaching 250,000 miles on the clock. I did all the work except heater core and steering box. I regret not doing the steering box myself as the job was hacked so bad by Holbrook Specilties in Gladstone I had to redo it. I know they damaged the power steering pump in the process. Never saw such crappy work... example, the pitman arm nut was only a bit over finger tight. with their stupid set rate bullshit. Sorry about the rant everyone redoing and going over their work revealed a whole new world of how far some will go or not go. Guess I should be thankful he's not my dentist.
  6. I somehow can't go cheap with some things... I like to harbor the Best when I can. Mine is a Fluke and is dead chicken nuts on (for Dripley) when testing on an accurate outdoor thermometer..
  7. That can reveal a lot but, keep folks away it's dangerous. If you have an infrared laser thermometer that can help too. Im thinking carrier bearing by just guessing. Sometimes a rubbing brake dust cover.
  8. Take a look at 'Easy Lay' pipe out of Oregon. I knew the inventor, real helpful generous guy. Anyway the aggragate is netted to the outside of the pipe and is artificial aggregate so its so light weight, it's impossible to beat. It's approved and used all the time now. My system is the old 'Infiltrator", noe gravel required with chambers running 400 feet, that have louveres so the soil won't go into the chamber. In oregon a 3 bedroom place needs 400 feet of drainfield but, when an impossible, dire situation came up we ran only 85 feet without problems even years down the road. Was to be a temporary fix, in the written agreement but, the owner never got money. Can't blame her as the old house was one leg away from dozer bait anyway. Amazes me how many people are gone now that desreved much admiration throughout the years.
  9. Having experience with drainfields, That is what we often find. One we lifted out the first 10 foot sections of pipe coming out each of the D boxes and each pipe was full of intwined tree roots in perfect shape of the 4'' pipe. We were having a good time because the county wanted a new system that would have cost around 30 K in todays money.
  10. I cut and bend 1/4 x 1/4 inch hardware screen to go in the inlet side. Seems to have helped.
  11. Here's to hoping you all have a good 2022. I'm a lucky guy to be able to say that as I remember my 1st grade teacher telling us in 58 that most of us will be gone by around 2020. I am happy as long as I can still ride, wrench and go camping. BTW, I feel bad for those families that lost their homes in Colorado and hope they get the insurance to build an even better home anyway.
  12. I noticed during cold weather if I plug in the block heater for extended days/nights that I start getting mice in there making a nest. No wires chewed yet just the sound deadening was torn away on the firewall. Extended parking without the block heater and there is no evidence of rodent activity.
  13. We need electrical tape that has arsenic.
  14. When a bird gets caught in the mower he calls it 'shredded tweet'. 43 for the high tomorrow snow is melting off everywhere except the mountains so getting pretty much back to normal around here.
  15. I watch your launch from space station.
  16. Mopar Man go to Mars every night!
  17. @Mopar1973Man, I am serious, you need a shop built with some heat and a lift. Soon you'll be old and need the ease of a good shop. Do it now while your still young. When I was 55 I was working overtime doing some of the most difficult large remodels. We were doing amazing things. nothin stopped me back then and you could do the same. I just briefly explaned how to build your shop in a PM, please read that? BTW, at 70 I'm still hands on 60-70 thousand dollar job completions rascal head I am having a good time with great clients is why I cannot quit. I am so used to making a big difference for them and so far retireing is paleface pile compared to the fun and even the difficulty involved. You are missing out on the fun if you don't build a shop.
  18. If its still doing the same thing it's not the injectors. Seems to me its more a steady miss than a random miss like a valve but that's shooting in the dark. I am leaning toward an air leak in one of your High pressure and/ or low pressure fuel lines. Also possible bad overflow valve which is easy fix. Check to see when you remove the fuel tank cap right after a run if there is a suction hiss when slowly turning the fuel cap off. If suction then the tank vent is clogged. If blowing out then you have a bad pressure copper ring on an injector or someone left one in there and there is two stacked up in there but, that be something I would do Did you follow protocal when changing injectors and snug up the high pressure cross over lines to the injector first before tightening down the injector? Previous owner could have left an extra washer in there too but, please check the easy things first.
  19. Oh yeah, real quiet Lol! Figuring out how to build you a shop over the existing portion of your dinky garage Or you could cut a big hole in your livingroom floor for a lift and you could go upstairs and still get inside the truck to get the customers lunch he left inside...
  20. Doesn't sound good, has a definate miss. Did you get the Timbo APPS? Also you could use an I R thermometer and check if one cylinder may having excessive or significant higher temps than the other 5. I check mine in the same spot on the exhaust manifold to see.
  21. They're hiding all their teeth that fell out from the Jab. When my parents said, ''it's awfully quiet around here'' it usually meant we were up to no good
  22. It's going to stop or taper down I hope for you Mike. This morning at 10am I'm seeing above freezing and some melting going on. I want you to build a heated shop my friend. You are getting enough work that you could have a small mortgage say, disciplined CC payments if needed, would be a good investment. Running my biz has meant borrowing many times over the years. It's always paid off even in the short term. With a good shop and good storage your really in Business and on your terms too.
  23. I am currently halfway through my firewood. The extreme heat we had sure did season it well in one summer. We reached 116 degrees for the hottest day breaking all time statewide records. Now we've had plenty of rainfall thus far for the season, thank God, breaking our long term dry spell and extreme fire danger drought. Now winter is finally in full swing, currently 8 inches of snow, still snowing at 27 degrees it's cold enough that I'm seeing individual snowflakes falling (very light snowfall) like little reflective pieces of glitter when turning on the light. Looks really cool, like falling stars. I must admit I have never seen this before. Don't know about you guys and I don't want any credit but conditions out west have caused me to pray very hard very sincere this early fall and I can only thank God for the wonderful mercy out west. Sorry to wax religious... until you understand what we been going thru... Keep the faith everyone and I thank you for your prayers, all of you.
  24. Update: It's turning colder now and the snow is coming down in little shiney star flakes. It's really cool to look at that amazing structure put in place by you know who. When you walk to get firewood the snow gliscends as you walk like glitter. Been a long time since we had a winter like this. We now have around 7 inches of snow and is amazing how much more snow we get than the road above just because we are surrounded by lots of trees. People up at the road cut most of theirs with some having cut all of them. I think they make their own climate based on what I'm seeing. . I'm going to have to try getting up on a ladder with a backpack blower and get the snow blown off the RV if I can.
