  1. A little humor never killed anyone, but I still try.
  2. If you listen to Diesel future one day yer truck be missing, no not at idle, nor at high rpms.... it will just be plain ole gone. Gee! I wonder where What I think about is how all this shutting down of everything is so good for the Gov't employees because I wonder if they still get their regular pay or partial pay? It's also an example of what the environmentalists want.... slowing the burning of fossil fuels.... let the earth recuperate to it's normal temperatures. Bad part is everyone loses their place to live by not working together a failing economic system. There seems to be an underlying factor to the way the world is going today.... can't put my finger on it... all I know is that it makes me want to have stronger faith in God.
  3. Better be careful though might have a big Pow Wow with every truck there having 0216 code
  4. Fellow Dodge owners you know that Mike Nelson says any fuel pressure lower than 14 psi causes slow death to the vp? Remember that the overflow valve does not open until it sees pressures at 14 and above. Mike also taught us that at idle we need to see 19 psi to allow for WOT draw down as this keeps the overflow open when the VP is most likely to start overheating. Especially when going up grades and hauling heavy, that VP needs to see maximum flow of return fuel to remove the heat. So important. Add to this the poor design of the sediment screen at the bottom of the in tank lift pump, where you cannot get too and you got dirt and sediment that can slow down flow rates. A common solution is to go with the big line kit and a fass or AirDog lift pump on the frame, removing screens and in tank lift pump and replace with the 1/2'' draw straw. This comes in a kit from Vulcan performance. This kit will include the proper wire harness so the lift pump cannot damage the ECM when it starts to go out and causes excessive power draw on the ECM. The wire harness allows the ECM to control the lift pump, but with power being taken from the batteries and has further diode protection for the ECM. I have seen lots of sediment on my intank screen and lift pump at the bottom of the tank. It was 2/3rds blocked and was glad to get that out and now have an accessible filter that is now outside the tank at it should. These trucks need flow or you choke them to death, that's the correct philosophy, good flow and not having anything to do with the factory's skinney little set up. Sorry about the rant.
  5. Last bad recession one family was buying land and real estate having me do lots of work. Material prices were low and sub were hurting for work. They kept me going for 5 years solid. They knew what they were doing. Very smart people.
  6. Good time for metal detecting after it rains and the sand is wet I want to say welcome to all who have joined up. Maybe we have big Pow Wow someday at Michaels place. We can split enough firewood to stack up a privacy fence.
  7. I meant noise from the bears. Highway noise was nothing as its down the hill and very little traffic. I never could figure out how that rock puts out electricity though, when you plug into it.
  8. If I was the CEO I'd keep the job going. This situation we are in ain't permanent and there is no better time than to make progress right now with low traffic availability of subs and workers..... It's primo time to get the hell going on it. Pisses me off these gutless people that can't take a little ripple in the economy. Now is the time to go.
  9. When they don't come out and say one way or the other if everyone is getting paid that's bad. When they come right out with it and say a solid yes everyone will get their pay, that's good. I hope you guys get what you deserve. Constn work is so hard and highly skilled.
  10. Yep I went there to visit Michael Nelson, but this nice lady comes out and Man! What a host she was....... talk about interesting conversation...... a real education.
  11. She went to be with her friends in Heaven. Passed away from complications with her kidneys, no longer able to benefit from the dialysis treatment. She was a sweet lady and had the priviledge of spending a week with her. She was very faithful to our Lord and a very cool real lady.
  12. God is just reminding you guys over there to be good and do good to one another.
  13. Thank you dripley and the key has a small arrow stamped on top. That arrow has to be pointing the correct way, but I cannot remember if toward the VP or the gearcase. Some guys use a drop of white out paint on the key so they can see if it's lined up with the gear. That's looking from the front while installing.
  14. He's just a little shook up is all
  15. Yeap it's a good spot. IBMmobile has been there too. ..... feel more secure near the grizz than the city frizz so I stayed a week and slept really good the whole time except when there was a noise
  16. Always apply the paste to the male fitting so it does not get pushed into the area of flow. Use light coating. I like the thread tape better and always keep it away from the tip on the male fitting. Only apply it to the upper portion of the threads.. When applying the thread tape you place the fitting in your left hand and with your right you run the tape over the fitting, not under. This will insure proper application or correct direction on the threads.
  17. Those are low numbers on fuel pressure for the mechanical pump. I think the problem is in the canister inside the tank. Clogged screens, which need to be removed, or sucking thru an old electric pump down in there. Don't forget to drill some holes in the bottom of the basket. You know even if you showed no problems the fuel basket needs to be addressed. It's just built wrong from the factory.
  18. A mild recession is good in many ways as long as families don't lose their homes. The economy was a bit too overblown in my opinion and it is good to slow it down a bit and take a break. I do mean slow it down just a bit not shut down.
  19. I cannot give a reference or a link to the information, but another tidbit of good news.....I don't know how science went about finding this, but the Coronavirus has a very weak outer shell and dissolves easily in soap and water. They are still recommending sanitizers like a third of a cup of bleach to a gallon of water to spray surfaces. Washing with soap is fine if scrubbing for an ample length of time. Another article is saying it took 2 full months from the time infection started before China saw a significant drop in the bell curve or frequency of new infections. I'm hoping we do better here in the states since we didn't try ignoring nor covering it up. Our air quality is also better than China.
  20. That's encouraging news. America is not designed to be shut down for a long time. I worry about the door opening to a deep recession.
  21. So looking at this chart you can surmise that coronavirus reaches up in the area in death rate compared to other intense flu or sickness of the past. Only a bit lower in death rates, but much higher than common flu. Am I seeing that right?
  22. Dripley says he wants to see a picture of the loaner car.
  23. What strains of flu in history have had higher rates per capita? Makes me wonder after what Nick points out.
  24. I think you are very right about that. Only the death rate per capita is reliable numbers.
  25. Genos Garage sells filters for that. Kind of expensive tho. Dripley's was all clogged with feathers, if I remember
