  1. You guys are funny and the coffee I made is great this morning. Can't beat that. Hey I'm not as strong as I used to be and was using a rubber mallet on a box end to help get caliper bolts out, but dam, missed twice and ended up hitting my fingers twice. Is there a good cordless/ airless impact wrench out there? I like the more expensive stuff if it's worth the bucks. Please help before I go out and lose all my feathers in a temper again. Thanks
  2. do chickens shed when it's that hot?
  3. IBMobile did a great job on my A/C system. So good to have someone do it all as I was going thru a lawsuit, had me pretty messed up and could only do the usual things . Anyhow I won the case and now getting rest. All I can say is I'll never try helping another marginal sort, letting them on my land in an RV was a big mistake. His lawyer was an evil dude. Thursday was 88, got in the truck at days end and was wonderful..... Thank you IBMobile My hats off to you too.
  4. My alarm would go off unexpectedly. So looking into what might be..... I pulled the driver door panel and found that if I held the door lock cylinder toward the front, pushing on it just a little, that the problem went away. So using some zip ties I was able to pull the cylinder forward just enough to stop the issue. It hasn't done it since.
  5. Yep my alternator got so hot you could see the smoke coming off it. As soon as I changed the bad batteries I replaced the fried alternator and everything was O.K. Thing about this, is I had the batteries load tested only weeks before when they warned me about one battery having a bad cell, going dead. I didn't listen, so it cost me an alternator. I was lucky..... I could have lost the PCM too. Don't mess with old batteries on these trucks it isn't worth it. It could have cost me a tow truck as well. Thing is, you'll be driving along smelling the smoke, but you won't see it so you think it's from somewhere else, so you keep going not knowing your frying things up real good.
  6. What I think about is, are there other brands this manufacturer made them for, as I'm beginning to see some evidence of manufacturing similarities among different brands. Don't know, but a good idea to check the 4 that I got from Napa.
  7. I bought one of those brand new for $5750 just like that in 1979. It was metallic forest green with 4wd, three on the tree and a 250 6 cylinder. I loved that truck.
  8. Flip 'em down when yer in the wilderness.... as I noticed Moose balls hangin' on the rear when I was there and thought I'd warn you about how dangerous that is now with the mirrors too.
  9. It was pretty cool visiting there Michael. And that Dog Gone Dan.... how does he do that stuff always finding what the hell's wrong when everyone else is pulling their hair out. Michael and Mike are lucky to have hair to pull on let alone having Dan around. The guy's a genius, no doubt. I had a very good time in spite of the rain.
  10. I'm glad your getting rid of them.... you don't need that trouble they're BS.
  11. I was with Chevron for 46 years. Once they shut me down because I was one state away from home. Said card was stolen. After waiting on the phone so dang long and finally getting a person with such a thick accent I could not understand her except, that the card is stolen, I used my back up funds to get home. No big deal Chevron got cut up and tossed, even when they sent two new cards for my wife and I.
  12. I really enjoyed talking with Dripley. I hope we get to meet over the campfire someday. I can tell it be fun. So fun to meet up with Mopar Man and have IBMobile at the same time poking me back for all the fun on the forum It was a blast. It was good to meet Eileen too. I can tell she is a good person to keep Mike in line IBMobile got a new roof on his rv and I got a whole new A/C system and heater core in my work truck. Feels like a new truck. Win win situation
  13. Dripley you were supposed to buy her a 57 Chevy!
  14. Nope, no return lines on either Raptor 150's I got a couple years ago
  15. A new alternator is what's needed with A/C volts that high. Many times just changing out the Diode bridge will correct that, and the heavy duty diode bridge is available thru our forum store. Since you don't need grid heaters where you live, I would just go for a new stock size alternator if you can get brand a new unit, not rebuilt. The level of A/C noise you are seeing, especially after doing the W-T modifications, is the highest I have ever seen. It may be doing damage to the more sensitive electronics. You say after it is warmed that it stutters and shuts down...... have you tried to see if you can get it to go away by pouring cool water over the PCB on top of the injection pump? Sometimes that is a clue of what's going on. Otherwise I hope it is just a matter of air getting in the fuel lines somewhere. I often wonder about a clogged tank vent (very rare but heard of) that creates vacuum in the fuel tank and suddenly causes air to be sucked in the fuel supply while running. I'm not sure if the fuel pressure gauge would be able to show split second drop in pressure when / if this happens. Slim chance, but try running with the fuel cap loose for a difference. I like your ambition getting your truck back in shape. It is very great to hear about your relentless effort.
  16. Why do they have to push people so hard Dripley. What's the big deal opening one or two weeks later? They make plenty of money already.
  17. Dripley I'm sorry about all this that happened to you. I tend to look only at the bright side. Like for instance...... now perhaps you will pick out a more convenient RV that will help travels out west to see us and get to see the mountains of the west in your retirement. Just tell moparman you have sprained wrist when you get to his place.
  18. I would try a fine mist spray of disinfectant down the intake with the blower on. Straight alcohol would be my preference, except for the blower motor brushes sparking and flame up the alcohol.
  19. got it ordered. Thank you Dan.
  20. so all's it is, is that attachment part connecting the actuator motor to the blend door. Looks a 'D' shape on one end and a slotted end on the other. Is that right Dripley? My bud from Feather Farms USA.
  21. BTW, everyone I forgot to order the part called the 'heater treater'. I've never seen this part that replaces dodge plastic part that often breaks on the blend door. Anyway might not be difficult to make one..... it is something needs mentioning here to replace when the dash is apart though.
  22. Thanks a lot Dripley
  23. IBMobile is driving 907 miles to my place to do the heater core and evaporator, including all new O rings and recharging the A/C system. He owns a mobile mechanic service. Man what service..... he might even bring me a hamburger and a milkshake when he gets here. Well.... the truth is we meet up at camp twice a year and he needs a new roof on his 5th wheel and I'm in charge of getting that accomplished. Gonna get interesting around here. At least if I get a lose screw over it I do have a metal detector to find it again.
  24. I think so. I'm not too worried it runs nicely.... knock on wood
  25. I have somewhere around 25,000 on my new VP as well.
