  1. So rich in history wil440, this places is just crying for a you to become a metal detectorist BTW, your truck and 5th wheel look real nice to look at.
  2. That photo was takin' before I got the milkshake belly. IBMobile please don't show recent photos.... please
  3. Yes this place is solid gold. Nick, Speaking of places....... W-T is happy you got out of Colorado! He said that place was going downhill in a bad way.
  4. I like splitting it by hand. Keeps me in shape, but here lately feels like gravity is getting heavier. Can't wait for the virus to be gone and fall to get here. Maybe the heat will kill it, but not according to the texas numbers where it's hot weather much of the time. I know they were hoping it would dwindle by now. It's weird that it keeps going and getting worse.
  5. split stacked firewood for one hour in the shade. Temperature went up 7 degrees in one hour and that also is in the shade. I hope it kills this Virus..... been going on too long.
  6. Batteries must be disconnected when using an OHM meter or you can damage the meter. Just in case you did not know. I hope you find it and keep us posted.
  7. Possibly over a hundred degrees here today and tomorrow. I think I will skip out of work for Monday.
  8. Had my batteries tested, but the battery shop was like a used car lot so I didn't trust them.... I should have listened even tho the truck started fine, not turning over slowly and I figured what can it hurt? Well I could have not only saved an alternator, but could have lost the computer, maybe even the truck it got so smokin' hot. W-T says the 3-4 mV difference is huge when compared to the charge rate. I'm in this big pot of hot water, W-T is pouring in cold water, but moparman keeps adding more wood. I think it's funny, but the serious side to all this is that W-T's original , very excellent and well written thread was lost on this subject. It had excellent questions from members and really good answers from W-T. It was a great discussion, got a tremendous response. Now we have this ghost of a thread by comparison called 'W-T ground Mods'. Another one is called, 'W-T Ground Mods Simplified'. It's not a nice thing to have your thread lost and then the information bounced around like it is . W-T put a hell of amount of time in that, deserves a lot of credit for helping everyone, but the information gets cut up and all I can do is place a small band aid here and there for him. Mopar Man is the only person across the country, after all the numerous silly attempts at solving the transmission hunting and other problems, that said, ''disconnect the alternator to see if the problem goes away'' MoparMan was the only one and the first one talking about A/C noise in the system. At that point W-T began to investigate the wire harness and found a major mistake done by the factory and helped save many of us from utter frustration. W-T's contribution of significantly lowering A/C ripple and MoparMans ability to open that door, setting the direction, has been fantastic for all of us. I feel the water getting a little warmer then cooler. IBMobile get me a ladder!
  9. I can't wait to get there. I hope the schools open so we can enjoy that place w/o the crowds. I really don't care to worry about the Virus, I wear a mask for others sake. On the job we have about 7 different people there not wearing masks because Oregon's infection rate is low. Think about the mask.... people take them off touching the moisture then touch everything else till they get to wash their hands. Even if the mask is dry the virus lives up to 3 days, they touch it again by putting it on to go in the store and push/ pull the store door handle each time. I think this thing won't go away till it runs it's course like other virus in history. My doc says smoking kills virus, but I'm not taking that up again.
  10. Very good question.... There has to be a way to prevent Thermal Run away ( I can't claim credit for that terminology), but proper strapping between the batteries makes the marriage so they both become one battery and the temp sensor will tell the Computer to lower the output. This is my understanding and is needed as a final completion to the W-T wire Harness corrections.
  11. IBMobile how is it up there at our favorite camp spot? Is it less crowded because of the C 19?
  12. Is there any way to automatically limit the charge rate in a situation where an old battery has a sudden shorted cell ? You know... kinda like me when you ask me to split firewood with no milkshake.
  13. There needs to be a way to limit the alternator charge rate so it does not get smokin' hot. What about these poor guys that spent a lot of money for an expensive alternator? I might be beginning to understand this........... if one battery has a shorted cell both the alternator and the drivers battery are trying to feed this one 'bottomless pit' battery, so to speak.... now causing a never ending high charge demand from a constantly draining bank of batteries. The PCM says give it all she's got so now the poor little alternator is overworked for the duration of drive time. In my case was a 65 mile run. This has nothing to do with the battery temperature sensor, is that right? There needs to be a way to save a good performing alternator under these circumstances when you have a shorted cell. The poor thing is already on the small side for our trucks.
  14. Mopar1973Man, You need to call W-T as I'm off the hook on this. He been wanting to hear from you anyway. He's good man and will get this controversy settled smooth as glass.
  15. I did after my truck sat for too long and not starting it often enough. That particular truck goes on long trips so I changed the idler pulley wheel and bearing along with the water pump, thermostat and coolant, the 'whistle' kind of a squeal went away. Running long distance on remote highways and byways I need to keep it trouble free. The worse thing is not starting it up once a week.
  16. Slow death to the injection pump running the stock fuel system and lines. You need the 1/2'' big line kit from Vulcan Performance. It has all the right stuff, but you need to go to our article data base and look up the fuel system required modifications to keep your truck for the long haul. Other guys will chime in too on this as I worked too hard today and need to stop and rest.
  17. That's incredible. Get a big water sep filter on there if you can. I like mine with the clear bottom and drain. I have only seen a tiny bit of water in there. Without a filter before the lift pump the water gets emulsified by the lift pump and passes on to the injection system (bad deal).
  18. You made some good points Thank you. So the virus is perhaps the worse one to come along in a century or so. Not something we should take for granted.
  19. Take your time, do it right, you'll want to keep it forever. It's a great truck with no smog and no 5,000 bucks just for injectors.
  20. Now it's Sunday Dave in case you didn't know ..... I meant around dripley to stop those itchy feathers up yer nose
  21. Thank you Mopar1973Man.
  22. Welcome to the truck club. Pretty good bunch here. I find it very interesting reading about the progress with your truck. I really enjoy my two second gens and never would sell them. I hope you take to yours the same way as most of us here.
  23. Only time you need a mask is when your near dripley.
  24. Did you see the latest news? The corona virus mutated to a new strain that only attacks protestors and extreme leftist politicians. My contribution to fake news
