  1. Yes we rolled out a whole new roof. Dead tired when done
  2. A side note... redoing IBMobiles EPDM rubber roof was a hard job. Anyone complaining they cost too much for replacement can talk to me Or IBMobile, we will give you a lesson in economics
  3. It was being reported as a rare historical extreme fire condition, but after it started it was not near as bad as they said. Thank you for the prayers it really toned it down a lot. In fact it was down right mild. Prayers do a lot of good and we need more of them these days.
  4. Brokers work on a interest rate yield spread that they don't tell you about. Over the life of the mortgage even if the spread is just a third of a point it adds up to many thousands of dollars which they get the full amount of that spread once the loan closes. Car dealers do the same thing and won't reveal that usually.
  5. In honor of a friend I'm going to have to call them 'bushes'...... I can just see the parts guys here, ''you mean like poison Oak bushes"?
  6. Wil440, why do you have so much rust on your sway bar and end links? Don't mean to hurt your feelings bud, just wondering why! Might be good to run the breather pipe longer down there so oil mist gets on all that whenever your going down the road. Also, here in the states we call them 'bushings'..... funny, I almost thought you were miss spelling and corrected that, but Brits are very colorful the way they talk so I'm leaving it.
  7. Nick, you went directly to a bank and avoided loan brokers like Lending Tree and others? Please tell me if you have a reason as we just contacted a broker, but they talk like they are loan sharks. I don't like that. We are wanting to lower our interest rate, we can almost cut it in half at this time.
  8. Oregon is laced with forest lands, makes for a nice state when you get out of the cities. However, starting this evening we have a large, very unusual wind storm about to happen. They are predicting 80 mph gusts over the Cascade Mtns and 45 to 50 mph in my area of the foothills. Humidity levels will become extremely low with temps bouncing around 90 to 100. These are explosive conditions just like the fires that happened in Paradise and Santa Rosa California. Please give us your prayers..... these are extreme conditions about to occur. Thank you ever so much......
  9. I think some are made with polycarbonate and others are just plain plastic. I'm afraid my old tinted ones will no longer be available soon as I see everything going to the new milk colored white plastic. I hope they are good ones if I have to change. We 3 new ones on IBMobiles fiver. He lives in Sun country.
  10. All my vents have lasted thru the years except the bathroom plastic. I had to change it out. two others are still solid as I tried to make them crack with my hand by putting force on them.
  11. It's that time again for me to reseal the vent hatches for the 3rd time. Had the RV new since Sept. of 03 so not too bad. One thing I've discovered is it is easier to reseal by placing blue masking tape in a square around each vent and spread the self leveling Dicor Sealant with a brush. By doing this you are working it into the voids, around each screw and working it into the surface for better adhesion. This also smooths it out for the next time you want to reseal because with an even surface it's easier to wire brush the surface (by hand is important) exposing a nice clean surface for the new coat. The wire brush will take off anything loose, but you need to be extra careful not to hit the rubber roof. I think double masking before the wire brushing will help. Hope this helps as I think working sealant into the surface is better than laying tape or caulk.
  12. Yes run the regulator up and down a few times as though you were trying to help it seat or break in. I doubt that's the problem, but what can it hurt? It helped me on both rigs with unstable fuel pressures.
  13. Did you find an appraiser yet? A little trick..... have patio furniture out with plenty of fishing poles leaning up, make nice big appraisal
  14. When you installed the lift pump, some of them have a small screen beyond the female threads down inside the inlet side that you have to remove or it can clog. Do you have a pre filter before the lift pump? Important to filter out and separate water out before the lift pump can chop it up/ mix it into the fuel, emulsifying it. Also have someone watch the fuel pressure while turning the regulator up high and low at idle. Both my new Raptors on both my second gens acted up until I did this. Are you powering the lift pump from the factory lift pump connection? It is wrong if you are, it will destroy the ECM. You need the factory ECM connection to trigger a relay only and lets the L/P get it's power from the batteries.
  15. 2 stroke oil is the best. Scoring tests shows it is effective on an injection pump that was designed for the old higher oil, more lubricating fuels. On the fuel pressure you need to always stay above 14 so you get max cooling with the fuel return flow carrying away the heat, at 15 I start to cringe. Mostly keep it above that, but try not going above 19 or 20 at idle
  16. Are you adding lubricity to the fuel to keep the VP44 healthy? Also the fuel pressure needs to stay above 14 even under hard pulls and excessive heat. If it's dropping below it's a slow death to the VP.
  17. Might have to be ready for doing a lot of work, but once done correctly you can end up with a better RV than new. My RV today (still making them) sells for over 49 k and it is just an all fiberglass clamshell truck camper. In 03 I paid only 23k, but the amount of work I had to do on it has been an on going project. With all the improvements I cannot afford to trade in for a new project and that's just about how rv's are right there. Do the best you can to spot everything and even if you just suspect something go check it out. Older ones are better if taken care of, but keep in mind you might be buying a project, which mine has been even though bought new..... just don't buy a total loss of a covered up piece of junk, buy a decent project that's easy to start on and fun to work on.
  18. This too bad as we need a good ECM/ PCM repair company. I always wonder when co.'s head downward if the younger generation has something to do with it?
  19. Stuck brake caliper(s)? Check for heat at each wheel after a short run.
  20. That Guy, very impressive write up and appreciate the education/ information afforded . Currently in Oregon we have never seen home suppliers and lumber yards with so much business. I have seen contractors and their trucks waiting in line to load up all the way around the front of the building blocking any chance to park. It's amazing because we also have never seen plywood products double in price in such short time. We are very lucky we finished building a home last January. The owner must be building a great equity. I also think therefore it will most likely be an inflationary environment rather than the tough times I experienced back in the early 80's. Although I remember the Fed raising the prime rate to 16% with folks rushing to place their money in savings accounts and no one spending. Those were very hard times as a young contractor with a new family and mortgage on our very first place. I hope that doesn't happen again.
  21. Very observant Dieselfuture, is that the house you live in while the wife is in a tirade over your trucks and beer?
  22. Is there any talk of taking a defensive move to bonds due to an oversold market? I am surprised at the gains and think that maybe I should hold for awhile,. Any thoughts? BTW, I thank you for your perspective about my comments above, really appreciate that. I wish I went to your college.
  23. You may need to clean the engine grounds from the batteries. They bolt down low on the engine block and that's where they get dirtier than anywhere else. Go back over all you did.
  24. If the colleges would stop poisoning our youth and instill a good work ethic they wouldn't have time to waist. They would be spending all their time learning to provide a service or running a good business like they are supposed to be doing.
  25. Did you see on Portland news about a bunch of truck owners doing a parade supporting Donald Trump? The cops arrested two guys trying to stop the parade and starting a fight. The police even escorted the Trump parade the whole way. Cool Huh? BTW, the Trump supporters were very polite and well mannered.....did not hurt another person nor damaged anything. I don't vote for people that can't support law and order and can't respect police officers. They risk their neck everyday for us and it's getting worse for them.
