  1. Sometimes I bump the starter and while watching the gauge go up as soon as it hits 9 p.s.i. I hit the starter. My truck also starts very quickly all the time though. Have you tried a hot start with the fuel cap off? Have you removed the screens on the fuel module? They tend to hold hot return fuel near the fuel pick up tube or draw straw esp. if they are clogged or varnished.
  2. If there's bad cookin, I learned a long time ago to save our marriage. I can't say anything so I hold it under the plate while scraping off the 'empty' plate, over the garbage, like I'm all done, I let the thing fall in there. No problem.
  3. I seen IBMobile leveling his rv with it under that tire right there.
  4. She sounds like a pretty solid cook lol.
  5. At any rate a Chicken Fried State and no way will it ever 'fly'. Dam thing was so hot, I thought it may have something to do with the quakes in California.... $280 bucks in new batteries, Alternator fine too, now the trans needs servicing
  6. No I scorched that sucker to a crisp. I coulda heated the whole house with that thing. Yet the bearings still turn nicely
  7. JAG1 commented on Mopar1973Man's Cummins article in Cab Interior
That's a good article.... Thanks MoparMan it's terrific.
  8. I know what you mean.... got home Sunday Nite smelled like wires getting hot.... pop hood and alternator is hot enough to cook chicken... Mopar man say unhook alt with internal short and go to work till you can replace it , just charge batts each nite till you get one. Put charger on next nite and volt meter says, sheesh! over 15 volts..... overcharge condition, What the . now thoroughly confused... dang shop charger is at highest amps... yet batteries show 15.8 volts on the volt meter...... so why is charger pumping highest amps . I bug moparman already plenty good so I call IBMobile ...only he says check your volt meter battery cause that can do that. Change volt meters and Sure enough actual battery volts are down to 11.89 with the charger throwing everything it has at them. Stomach growling...... go eat diner with batteries separated, come back and one battery is down to 10. 89 volts. Other battery almost up resting for half hour. Go get new batteries thinking problem solved so hook up alt for on the way home. Alternator now smoking bad.... Change alternator to a good Bosch I had on the shelf. All is good now. I never had an alternator fail that way and I think it has something to do with the ten year old batteries, one being shorted. It just doesn't pay to run around with old batteries and interrupt Moparman and IBMobile. They were both correct in what they said. Thank you to both.
  9. Nick is usually right in what he says so I tend to agree. You need a new set that is pop tested and flow matched. I would have something a little easier on the running gear and engine and go RV 275's. But that's just me.
  10. That turbo doesn't seem to have any bad reviews after looking it up on Google, but does not say whether they have had issues.
  11. Sure is a good mod when it helps save the diodes in the alternator by affording a controlled use only when needed.. IBMobile drove all the way to northern Oregon to put that in for me. The guy is incredible....
  12. Are they called tire chains because of slavery to a payment plan on their new tires?
  13. Congrats on the truck... I'm thinking you probably got a good deal . However, I would not be interested in keeping an off brand turbo on my Cummins. They can disintegrate and do a lot of damage.
  14. I be right over I think IBMobile has a picture of what happened when he got the wrong end up
  15. Schwabie has gotten too big for their britches. Couldn't believe how much they tried marking up a second gen wheel bearing..... yes just the part was marked up almost 100%. I said no you don't and they got to an almost normal bill amount but not quite.
  16. He was keeping an eye on you cause I told him about your rocket launcher
  17. My neighbor out by the my road was lighting off the big city type fireworks last night. They give you jail time and big fine in Oregon. I watched for awhile, very loud, I made sure no sparks were coming down on the trees and that's all the fuss I made about it. I think most everywhere folks today are buying the illegal fireworks and that's because people want the effect, and the legal stuff is like a match fizz by comparison.
  18. So does that mean worn injectors are harder to detect on a VP truck since the ECM can compensate?
  19. You never know, Cummins owners live long time
  20. Ever since starting this discussion I haven't seen it. Before I was seeing it too often near my back door, close enough to see with the lights on. According to the Prius owners club.... all you need do is hang it near a Cummins exhaust pipe, run truck for 30 seconds and all smell will be gone.
  21. When I leave my place at around 450 feet, to go visit my mother and camp with IBMobile, two days later up at 7500 feet, there is no change in how she runs or starts. I wonder.... can high miles injectors also be affected from high elevation? I'm thinking you need to get new injectors. My old 92 had around 450k miles on the originals.... I should never have done that because when one finally gave up may have damaged the engine. No warning, she stopped dead on my driveway after a bunch of white smoke. All I know is I could never get it to run after, even with new injectors it was always a little harder to start and had an unmistakable miss.
  22. He'll start making his own parts and sell them on the internet in order to keep us all going. He make sure we go at least till 2050.
  23. That ain't no firecracker, make sure your arm's in good shape..... The dang thing's a bomb
  24. Have you checked out W-T's Grounding Mods? Especially looking at the PCM factory ground to the passenger battery? Might be something there. Also test for excessive AC voltage noise from the alternator capable of confusing the PCM. You may also benefit from doing the complete W-T Grounding modes. I'm very interested in how this comes out.... thank you for sharing and please keep us up to date.
  25. Nice one! Sorta like the Oregon California border, you see no clouds after getting out of Oregon.
