  1. My situation is a bit different with an all fiberglass camper, there are no seams except where the aluminum framed vents are screwed to the roof. A total of 4 vents, the factory used a coating called Hengs and is wrong since it turns into a hard almost glass like product that you need an air chisel to get off. trying to remove any of it shoots bullet like pieces everywhere. I call the stuff BS too because the different thermal characteristics between aluminum and fiberglass caused it to crack at the seam and is common knowledge that you need a flexible coating in a case like that. So IBMobile, this may help..... with my experience with other caulking and sealants on my job I took a pair of scissors and shortened the brush to help spread thicker caulking to use like a coating. Masking with blue tape around each frame to coat a nice discreet line, I proceeded to paint a nice thick rubberized coating around each vent. It spread nice and leaves brush lines but never peals. It stays rubber like over the 8 yrs its been up there. I can see that it does wear down from the sun and rain over time but does otherwise hold well. If I had a tear in a rubber membrane I would coat it, then push fiberglass mating or mesh into that first coat and then recoat over the mesh. I would first do a test with some scrap piece of rv rubber roof and try different caulk to see which is impossible to remove. I would go so far as to boil it, heat it with a heat gun and soak it in water to see which will not come loose. I usually don't go for products that show heavy advertising to overcome a word of mouth problem in their sales. I go for the industrial proven products.
  2. Yes and there a cooler full of Pacifica my latest discovery since GMO chicken at the grocers. Leety what do you use those containers for? Are people living in those? The solar panels help to also shield the heat in the heat of the day.
  3. Dripley puts a slanted frame work on his jobs, not for solar panels, it's for a chicken launcher. Just me being goofy again.
  4. It almost like libs want to create more restrictions to able to impose fines rather than save lives. It's all about the money and self preservation not real criminal control as it should be. To raise our children correctly, they will already be caring enough about quality and how they treat others. Valuable giving people deserve the best in life. Profit gained by cheating or concealing something is damaging to the fabric of society and so is slow punishment to those who commit crimes.
  5. The thought keeps running over and over.... getting to the heart of the immigration issue by helping those countries in trouble. Develop standards of living, oust the evil governments and spread free world capitalism. Gun control can only weaken the good folks of America and is revealed by other evil greedy governments that have taken over around the world in places like Guatemala. They caused mass migration to our free world. The spread of a free world economy like America and and others can only strengthen and increase the number of our allies and raise standards of living in that otherwise poor country. We want to maintain a free world that allows folks to increase living standards and have a fair gov't represented by its people. Real gun control is bringing back the Ten Commandments and planting a good conscience early on in our children. Think of the good folks raised right and all the valuable products they produce. They are making America strong.
  6. Well..... I thought it was funny as I had this image seeing your truck leaving a cloud of smoke and light behind.
  7. So o all your friends and neighbors call it the 'Chick Chalet' ?
  8. It would help a lot Mike.......... if you stopped driving faster than the speed of light
  9. Amazing Mike, did the happen to you in the picture?
  10. Look like she was chasing you with the hedge trimmers. Either that or she was doing a custom fitting for your tail feathers. You have interesting paneling in your home dripley, a recessed panel style is that because she hates going over speed bumps when you drive? This is what it looks like camping near Bridgeport which is same area shown earlier in this thread. Any of you members are more than welcome to join in for our week of fun 2 times a year.
  11. I will have to have you take the pictures.... I have too much arthritis in my neck to aim that high.
  12. I hear the Toyota truck owners aren't too happy with the quality either. The trend of everyone wanting cheaper isn't necessarily the main culprit. It's the manufacturers trying to keep costs down and profits up against taxation and regulation. Even farmers are forced to grow fast growing quick response GMO crops. I just took a bite of the most beautiful looking plum I ever saw. It tastes like water and fell apart in the sink. It's garbage. Last week same thing with cherries we bought.... garbage. I think there are a lot of aspects today removing the quality of life in general.
  13. Always interesting. We have a good time getting away just sleep, eat, fish, hike and metal detecting. After a week we all feel pretty good in the mountains doing what we want. Thats IBMobile in the rear and Glen in front. I figured out how to carry the metal detector on the mountain bike and has a prospecting mode.
  14. Thanks Katoom, that's what I wanted was an affirmation of the way I thought it might be and explains why Trump said they have an unfair advantage over us
  15. Hey Dripley, you make it out west someday, you got three places to park your 5th wheel... my place, MoparMan, and IBMobile. But, I think IBMobile has Volvo parts everywhere. He showed me a picture one time.
  16. I found going over speed bumps fast shakes the crabbiness loose sometimes. You know it too bad MoparMan ain't married..... his experience would be golden in our sitiation.
  17. Yes, I thought the route would be better than the stop and go thru town. Very long grade going into town as well so I went around on the back roads. But there was stop and go from a school bus I think IBMobile cleaned his ears out from the steam.
  18. In the long run it might be just the thing to help balance trade. Of course I could be wrong, but I look at the market too.... it needs its wings clipped once in while to not fly so high that it flops from unsubstantiated prices.
  19. We, the United States is putting a tax on goods coming in from China? Or are we putting a tax on goods going to China?
  20. I think Chic-Fil-A keeps Dripley on the job since he can see everything from up there. Wish I was that tall..... Do you have to jack up your truck so you can get in?
  21. Yeah, but think how smart it is to use on a date...... if they were willing to climb in you knew they were willing
  22. I have two second gens so a lot of bullet proofing gets done to both trucks. I just want to say that the G 100 ground was hidden on both mine. Hiding under a small bit of wire harness way down low in front of the drivers battery on the fender, but underneath a bit of that harness that it makes it like nothing is there, but is. I'm into reliability and bullet proofing more so than anything else. Enjoy having a truck that everyone wonders how a museum piece can run for so long. I'm out to prove the best in reliability without buying a new truck. Just like my wife..... the older she gets the more I'm hooked on her.
  23. And you do not want to find out what it's like having a front bearing go at highway speeds neither. Very hazardous shocking feeling. My truck threw itself into the fast lane without warning. I was glad no one was beside me.
  24. Where do you guys have 80 mile an hour speed limits? I've never done that except for a moment in High school.
