P1693 with NO companion code
Thanks for chiming in. Its frustrating putting work into your truck, all the time thinking, 'how nice its going to run', but then something like this happens. No big deal really.... just have to keep trying.

P1693 with NO companion code
I can only make a suggestion to put your old ones back in and see what happens. Something is affecting timing perhaps?!. I just don't know, but it was running beautiful before wasn't it? That's the strongest clue we have to go on.

P1693 with NO companion code
Marcus, I hope you find the problems. I'm interested in hearing about it when you have time. Another question........ did you get new copper washers for the only two hours used, but new injectors when you installed them? I'd bet that you did and Dripley be over my house with Armored truck to pay me

P1693 with NO companion code
I'm sorry about tossing you a pile of questions Marcus didn't mean to make it sound so intense there Boss. You know both my trucks have the grid heaters disconnected for several years and it is very weird how one day one of the trucks' decides to throw a grid heater code out of the blue like it did.

P1693 with NO companion code
A couple questions...... Did you make sure all the old copper washers came out with the old injectors? Did you make sure to gently snug up the high pressure lines first before tightening down the injectors for proper alignment? Did you make sure to place a small amount of grease on the washers of the new injectors making sure to not have a copper washer fall off before inserting the injector? Are they brand new from Bosch? If they are rebuilds make sure they are pop tested and flow matched' Last..... any weeping of fuel from the pressure lines or return lines?

Mechanical lift pump
My impression is the Fuel Boss has been out the longest of any mechanical lift pumps and there are not many complaints about them.

Anyone do any Metal Detecting?
I'm learning how to run a Whites MTX e tracker. It's an old one they still make because it such a good unit. Very popular. The reason I bought it is it's still new from 2011 and I got it for $450 with the carry bag, pin pointer and earphones. Anyone familiar with these?

IBMobile and me are trying to get the camping, fishing, and now the latest.... a bit of metal detecting fun up and rolling again. Mix in a little truckin' together with our campers down south. I pray he gets his transmission behaving correctly. Happy Easter Everyone.... It's seems it was a long time for spring to finally show

Transmission hangs in second
I was surprised when mine did this too. After sitting for weeks at a time. It did this only a few times and has gone away. I kind of expect it a wee bit from time to time and usually let it roll backward in neutral for a bit to get things circulating after sitting. I know so little about transmissions though. I hope Dan it's minor and since you haul a fifth wheel its just a simple matter of a sensor or symptoms of more frequent trans services required.

Additional lights and damage to Headlamp Switch
I wonder why the owners manual says that when there's a trailer plug ready to go next to the receiver hitch. I have the camper package and even though it is a camper and not a trailer I still used the trailer plug for the slide in camper. Now.... my headlight switch was getting so hot when the camper was hooked up I thought it might melt the dash. Not knowing anything about using relays back then, I installed a heat sink for the switch using a long piece of copper tubing. So far 13 yrs its been okay and I do have the cab lights. Now that you brought this up.....Honestly, I'm wondering if I'm causing a slow death to my headlight wire harness.

New truck-New transmission
I wish I could help. All I have is a flip phone, but he should be able to get on the internet and just type Mopar1973Man. com and will come up. I hope he gets a good first rate trans shop and not a hasher.

You know when you're old...
I had a 64 Chev Malibu after the 57 Chev. Worked after school at a golf course for $1.50 an hour. my car payment was 36 bucks a month and could fill it up usually for around $4.50 at just above the empty mark. McDonalds was next to the gas station there and a Big Mac was 50 cents. Anybody got a way stop laughing about IBMobiles post? I think I gotta go see the Doc.

Injector install questions
I don't intend to sound rude or stir the pot, but at a price of little over 400 bucks for new injectors and having such a great truck I would not mess with used, I would go get them new from Bosch thru Dap or any VP rebuilder that has the right price for them.

Transmission hangs in second
I am hopeful is all. How much metal in the pan? I just pulled the magnetic plug and drained mine as it's not time for a full trans service yet but want to change out the slightly burnt. I went to 8,000 ft elevation in only about 5 miles hauling 3400 lbs and temps got up to 180 or so. You could see the slight discoloration. The magnet had some metal.... enough to cover the tip of my thumb and forefinger. Staying hopeful ........ I have often wondered how good to stick a few rare earth magnets to the bottom of a factory pand..... if that is any benefit to help keep the filter. Those magnets are very strong.

IBMobile first car was a 1939 DeSoto he peddled down the sidewalk when he was three feet tall. He was already trying to pic up chicks along the sidewalk for a date in that car.

Or when Dripley flies south for the winter.

You know when you're old...
You will know your old when you think you remembered everything because you got your glasses on and then realize you started your truck in your Skivies. You will know your old when you start reading the map upside down because your headed south. You will know your getting close when you bring the bolts to your truck and forget the wrench, but when you went back for the wrench you now left the bolts where the wrench was.

Transmission hangs in second
