  1. Ready to use the alarm system for target practice..........if someone knows how to permanently disable the thing I would greatly appreciate it
  2. Be very 'ginger' and skip the eating of GMO chicken.
  3. Thanks Hawkez, I will let you know when I get it apart, weather permitting. I have a garage, but like most It's got a few things in there. Material things are starting to go down the road for simpler living. Cleaned out a bunch yesterday.
  4. That's how I got involved in my own work...... I got tired of the frequent misinformation and seeing what really was done, finally got to me. In 2001 I got serious about investing in tools even though I always had enough to do the usual maintenance, it opened up a whole new education along with a certain glee about not getting hosed any more.
  5. You guys, my door lock switch is bad.Keeps setting off the alarm so Just want to make sure about pulling off the door panel....... Just carefully pull it off the holding clips....... Is that right? I will look around for any screws too.
  6. I had a bad starter that would almost empty the batteries of everything they had in them. While trying to jump start with another truck, it drained both those batteries in almost an instant. as well, but before you jump to all the expensive possibilities .......... Do you have the fass powered by the batteries thru a relay? or is it connected to the factory lift pump power connection? In any case, you need to get the lift pump off the factory lift pump connection because when the lift pump goes bad it can burn up the ECM What condition is all the rest of the electrical? I would also disconnect the grid heaters. Could be drawing down already weak batteries from corroded connections and constant under charged batteries. You can plug in the block heater instead about 3 hrs ahead of time to avoid the grids. Unhook the grids at the drivers battery. you'll see two black wires going into one wire with the ring terminal on the end.
  7. You guys are really trying to help..... I sure hope Tommy49 comes back with some good news .
  8. I have changed water pumps and stat, starter motors, idler pulleys, belts, brake pads and calipers, one block heater element, Lift pumps, draw straws, fuel pressure gauges and changed one VP44. On my old 12 valve I had for almost 22 years I changed all that plus injectors, Turbo, 4 starter motors, 3 brake boosters, 2 master cylinders and rebuilt with my own parts the fuel module and fuel gauge sender. I changed my rear wheel bearings once, but got the bearing seals backwards.
  9. We been below normal by quite a lot here in Oregon for the whole month of February and beginning of March. I work outside mostly cause there's woman inside so outside is more peaceful and serene. Has it been colder than normal for most you guys further east? A warm up is on it's way after at least 6 weeks of unusual cold so I'm hoping it's headed your way too. kzimmer, my boat is 11'-6" and have to blow it up.
  10. Tape a small diameter tubing to a shop vac hose and use that to suck up anything that fell into smaller areas. It won't hurt to vacuum up dirty oil with it...... just get out all you can. I like soft tubing cause it will fit better to areas or galleys that need clearing out.
  11. I sure hope you find it. You put a lot of money in that truck. I would be checking rechecking all connections to the PCM. Especially groundings. Check the one going to the passenger battery negative from the PCM. That gey connector goes loose inside and can't tell when because of being in cased in grey plastic. The PCM ground to the firewall is probably important as well. I wish I could be more helpful.
  12. That'a a lot to take away when you worked yourself to the bone. Their needs are to retire on cruise ships at 50, I guess I'd rather retire on IBMobile's 16 foot fishing boat..... except for the cruise up the inside passage to Alaska...... supposed to be great.
  13. There is a lot of beautiful places up in the Blue Mountains (Ntnl Forest) that aren't crowded. A lot closer to you and MoparMom.
  14. Moody Blues on my speakers. Yep, we could call a Mopar round up some day. Have to be careful though and do it in a public park or national forest because there were some guys stealing tools at some of the meet and greets which happened at on private property.
  15. Welcome to the forum Brent. You are welcome to stop by if you wish. All supplies of bolts are safely locked up by the wife. Some she buried out back. As long as there is full hook ups, coffee and a campfire ring everything will be peaceful and happy as pie around here in Beavercreek.
  16. Oh! yeah you right..... I'm not too bad for 92 Thanks IBMobile will give that a try.
  17. Some of that GRS. Greasy chicken skin
  18. If you don't mind I have another seat belt question....... Does anyone know a way to get oil to the seat belt retraction mechanism and perhaps make it retract better? Mine is often caught against the door after I get in.
  19. If the pulley is good no play in it either way I would suspect (what I've only read about).... that there is an inlet screen somewhere in the system..... cannot remember where its location is, but if clogged it could be starving the pump for fluid as I've also read about a proper way to flush the system to clear that screen inside. IBMobile has an in line filter on his P/S pump system. Hoping Mopar73 Man can chime in on the screen......
  20. Sumps have seen some bad news around here with leaks and it is illegal because of fire potential..... the fire dept needs time to get people out of their vehicles when involved in a wreck, but if there's diesel flowing by gravity that's asking for trouble..... could be a liablity.
  21. Not to mention having to deal with bad horrible management or customers. Some people have to deal with traffic, horrible commutes up to 3 hrs every work day. Long waits in line at coffee shops etc. You got it made Mike as far as I'm concerned as MoparMom is the best. I've had the previledge to have met her. Shes the coolest on the planet. Consider yourself very luck Michael Nelson not having to deal with most of us have to deal with. Keeping faiht is very important.
  22. Way I understand it is a water separating larger micron filter before the lift pump is best since bio and all diesel has all the developing algea and gunk in with the water particles/ portions of the fuel. The larger micron water separating filter before the lift pump will also allow for more stable fuel pressure by not creating excess vacuum that can conflict with the pressure side. You also don't want the lift pump to act as a blender mixing in water and other garbage in the fuel. This allows the secondary factory filter to do a better job, not become overwhelmed and allowing it to filter the smaller junk before getting thru. I use a 30 micron water separating filter before the lift pump and is designed for the suction side together with the factory filter like most others do.
  23. Hey don't get crabby...... we all trying to keep you out of trouble...... especially with women.
  24. At least Oregon still has some pocket areas filled with rednecks. Where as California only has two left........ IBMobile and portlandarea28.
  25. You didn't say how many miles on it!
