  1. Thanks Pepsi71ocean, you should have at least 5 feet of line between the T or the needle valve to the electronic sensor or it won't last at all. That's what Mopar73Mike taught me. I think he's right.
  2. Don't forget the 2 cycle oil in the tank and being religious about fuel pressure staying above 14. If that means a new gauge, remember the electronic sensor needs 5 feet of line between it and the needle valve.
  3. I think M73M is even the leader and none of us want to make lite of any one's effort with writing a post or having truck troubles. We all want to see half a mil miles for all. It all good as long as Dripley gets stirred in the pot
  4. Yep, good Job Dieselfuture You get Hi Jack of the year award and an M73M certification patch for you jacket. Still waiting for IBMobile final design.
  5. Yeah Dieselfuture, the moment I first heard about all the computers and electronics associated with a diesel truck I was very disappointed. You know that stuff is troublesome. That is why I can't understand why self driving vehicles That stuff goes out sudden, without warning and your out of luck at 70mph. I'm afraid that also means the Gov't. won't allow anyone to work on their own vehicles in the future. Now I have really Hi Jacked this thread It mopars fault.... he allows this stuff even leaves bolt bin out in the open.lol
  6. I thought they always looked okay sitting in the bed standing straight up and bolted to the inside of the bed side. Logical place is not the drivers side like the old days, but the passenger side being its a bit safer standing on that side.
  7. Are you using two stroke in the fuel to bring the score value within range of Bosch specs?
  8. If the exhaust is in the way by only a 1/2 inch, can't you dent the pipe a little bit? I try to keep the winch lubed but still have a short piece of chain hanging on frame either side of the tire. I hook them together across the spare using a small chain binder for the day that winch goes bad and won't be lost.. Might be somewhat of an idea anyway if it allows you to move the spare an inch or so.
  9. So you guys sayin' that you get that from a little iron with everything else non ferrous in the circuit. What about the battery post nuts those are iron. No hurry, but can you explain induction. Thank you I.A.
  10. I'd like to know too.... why the heat is centered on that nut and not spread over the length of wire. If your starting an electrical engineering (Electronics 101) I'm all ears.
  11. I figure if they have the time for you they have the time to do a better job and take pride in their work. I just don't like bean countin' money is everything attitudes. That gets me out of there and going somewhere else.
  12. I would rather purchase a rebuilt VP from the rebuilders and know which Bosch approved rebuilder did the work. Often a cheaper price distracts me away from such adverts and would rather talk with the people that are the hands on rebuilders and run the test stand for the VP44's. I like it when they take the time to show you around and a little bit about how it's done too.
  13. You guys go on ahead.... I'll be rollin up just about the time you get diner ready . Dripley bring some extra bolts as there is a shortage out here in the west. Especially around Mopars place.
  14. What a lot of work your going thru to find the issue. Before dropping the oil pan, isn't there any other possibilities for something simple?. Anything can be easily overlooked. Yesterday I was messing with the two alternator leads, the black two pin connector on the Nippon Denso. After disconnecting I noticed a lot of black dirt on the face of the connector which can cause, sometimes called, 'Earth leak' across the pins. Cleaned up the face and blew air inside around the two pins, inspected where the factory put hard bend on the two wires at the connector, (looked like the insulation may have deteriorated, couldn't tell for sure, so I taped them anyway separately at that bend and placed lots of dialectic grease on the face and around connector. Plugged back in, started the truck and seemed to be running surprisingly better.... smooth as glass really. I know I'm shootin from the hip w/o any practice here but I'm hoping it something simple.
  15. Yes, but the VP44 is the easiest injection pump to change out. Esp. compared to changing the VE type. VP44 may even make up the shorter lifetime difference by having better tuning and mileage in real dollars and sense. You also get a truck that has more horses, is quieter in the cab, more comfortable and generally a lot more convenient.
  16. You'd be surprised..... you might be in for a big change in your life soon.
  17. Better get out there Mike and start splitting by hand. It would be good for you, but don't over do it. Also I think I heard a friend of IBMobiles said she'd be interested in dating you if you shave off the hippy badge. I think IBMobile may have a picture of her.......
  18. It called hide and seek LOL..... BTW, what was it they found in M73M's bladder....
  19. I have traveled the blues in Oregon. Some two lane roads can get a little skinny at times, but I think if you go slow around turns so you have time to stop incase you run into someone spun out. It's probably safer going that way than being with a bunch of other traffic that thinks they are experienced race car drivers. I always worry about the guy coming from the other way if he loses control and goes in my lane. That is a tough one. On one occasion I left for a long trip home when the news was saying a big bad storm is coming. tI went perfect being that their was almost no one on the mountain rd I was on. For 200 miles I went 45 mph almost the whole way and really enjoyed it.
  20. Is that something they send you all the time for your travels?
  21. I ran twice a year for 4 years down to nevada on two stroke with the 0216 code. Mine started about the same mileage as yours.... around 60,000 never going into limp mode, but started having hard starts about 400 miles from home. I made it back and even drove to Idaho for M73M's shop near Riggins to change it out. He does real good work and is out in a nice part of the country.
  22. In my young days we used to ride in the back of pick up trucks going down the freeway. On a cold morning you always wanted to sit in the middle, not on the sides because you could feel the warmth coming from the trans and engine warming the truck bed. The sides were always cold. Where M73M mounts his pump/ filters is the best possible location for warmth. It closer to the exhaust which may help but, is also above a skid plate
  23. Two stroke oil will help with jelling issues, but most important.... will help lub the timing piston inside the VP44. American diesel does not meet Bosch specs for fuel lubricity, but with 2 cycle oil added to the fuel, in your case I would do a double dose, it brings the fuel back to pre Obama fuel.with proper lubricity. This may cause the 0216 code to go away, unlikely and may mean you have mechanical wear inside the vp44. I drove 4 yrs with the 0216 code not going away by using 2 stroke oil. It could have left me stranded without warning at anytime as most 0216 codes will cause the truck to shut down till the injection pump is changed BTW,. Driply, what do we have to do to earn a free meal coupons for CFA ? LOL
  24. So...... what happens when you fly over the radar?
