  1. I like this story about a what great place to be and the surgery and recovery and all, but what about the part where they had a beautiful night nurse doing laps with you so you would get up and exercise?
  2. Don't forget to remove all those girlfriends rings tossed in the glove box there's at least 30 grand in there
  3. I found the problem this morning while looking for my house on a detailed map for my house. There was a box asking me to click if I wanted to see my location. When I clicked it it told me my location had to be corrected in my privacy settings. So I did that and it worked. So glad to be back with all you guys. I was sick with the shingles too, was terrible dam disease, carrying a huge load in my gut made it feel like I was dying and laxitives weren't helping. Needed Dorkweeds' plumbing services. Went to the doc three times and found the shingles moved into my intestines. Taught me life is dog gone short and you should not miss out if you can. Anyway being that I was bedridden for so long it finally got to where I felt sicker in bed. Gradually went back to work and felt better little by little each day. Just goes to show how much we need activity to stay healthy. Sorry to get off topic here.
  4. That a good idea DieselFuture, That picture is enough to make me want to move. W-T has no time to post but reads the forum occasionally. I think it best to rebuild a much lesser expensive garage, make the house livable and sell...... Perhaps with the insurance settlement there would be enough to find a nice home on the water like that somewhere. Moving to lakefront property would be cooler in summers and Paradise California was seeing drought and excessive fire danger and heat in summers. Almost forgot... He said the fire was moving so fast, at the rate of 3 football fields every 30 seconds. More like an explosion with no time to get out of the way.
  5. Just figured out that I had a location problem on my computer so I'm so glad to be back. Have a lot to catch up on from all my buds around here.... like coffee wired blood shot eye balls from catching up. Mike this is great news that your home and feeling better. I'm So glad. I can't help feeling you are family after the way you've helped me and so many other members of this family. I want you to know IBMobile can only do indian dance around fires.
  6. Hard to find anything to contradict what your saying Nick. It's right on as we say in our generation .....
  7. Nick, the reason I'm against all this automation, robots and automatic checkers etc. is the need for people to find a way to keep fit work hard and be proud of what they accomplish. Before you know it Michael will be able to rent a robot to cut split and stack his firewood. Me rent a robot to help grade a job or help me frame a house. If this keeps up what will average hard working folks do ? How many lives will it cost before all computer glitches are worked out? I do like the fact that an officer will be able to stop a vehicle at anyone time, but what about when a person suddenly forgets thinking it's switched on as usual and it's not because a computer glitch caused the driver to switch it off for manual override?
  8. Why is it that two 6 volt deep cycle in series are better than two 12 volt deep cycles wired in parallel? I know you can add up the amp hour ratings on series wired batteries, but stays the same on the paralleled units.
  9. Mopar1973Man, Where you live there is no traffic and folks have enough smarts not to stop in the middle of the road when seeing flying embers. You have to take hermit classes to live where you live.
  10. Couple that with prohibitive building permit fees and having to meet requirements that each one becomes another fee, you have a system that is very efficient oppression and self perpetuation. Katoom, if you live in the woods with a lot of trees around consider building an underground fire proof shelter for safety. You wouldn't want to be stuck in a traffic jam in an evac situation.
  11. I can only hope that thing hangs on and doesn't fly off and hurt someone. It's sad to see really, that I'm noticing more and more the numbers of precarious loads being hauled down the road now a days
  12. Update; just got a text from one of W-T's associates at his place of work. It said that he is okay and staying with friends. I guess that means he lost his home I'm sorry to say. I hope he got out with his truck and it's okay as well.
  13. Like to see one of these cars handle ice and snow as well as I can. Can it regain control as well as a truely experienced driver? It may have to go 2 miles an hour, then what? What about the snow falling itself, would it stop? What about those who escaped Paradise California fire driving thru flames? Leave you sitting there getting caught in it? IMHO technology is going too far. Dripley, Now if you could have a rig that could cook up some fried chicken while driving and serve on a plate when you stop ....... Now w'ere talkin' advancement
  14. W-T lives in Paradise, Calif. I hope he is okay as I've tried texting him several times. He wrote the article called 'W-T Grounding Mods' which everyone likes. He had just retired this fall. Keep prayers going for him and all the others there. Almost 40 yrs ago we used to make a yearly trip up thru there in which that area seemed alive, vibrant and fresh back then. Now it is very shocking to see how many trees are dying from lack of rain. Even long established Oak trees. some whole areas along the I-5 look like they are dying.
  15. Yes, like Dripley says you should only use your grid heaters only when needed. IBMobile is designing a switch so you can control them and help save the alternator diodes. Mounted in the cab it will be set up so it won't throw error codes. For now most of us have them disconnected at the drivers side battery until absolutely necessary.
  16. A good launch right down town with all the chicks (no not chickens Dripley) stop to take a look. That moment when it presses you into your seat and the front lifts, hang on for dear life, while the sound of your machine has priority above everything else. There's nothing like it.
  17. Thanks to Ofela for bringing this up. Pray for W-T that he is okay that his home is still there as over half of his town of Paradise Calif. is burnt to the ground. It really sad.
  18. That brick chimney helps keep the pipe warmer and creosote from condensing on the pipe walls.
  19. I vote for the 1st gen. Keep it garaged and someday it be worth big money.
  20. I usually prime / preheat my tall pipe with some papers and cardboard letting it roar pretty good before building in the kindling and wood. Let it burn wide open until stove is full hot is good. Sometimes I forget to turn it down though I used to have creosote build up like a paste in the ceiling support box even though I had the correct connection the way the pipe bells are supposed to point upward. It was right at the single wall to double walled insulated pipe transition Would condense right there and weep its way outside the pipe. After the band removal, no more problem.
  21. Nice job you did, but I like the woodstove it looks nice. Taller chimneys like mine with two story pipe runs will have more problems than shorter ones. After having years of slow draft problems, I finally went up the roof with a pair of shears and cut the metal band off that running around The uprights holding the 'helmet' or cap. This almost doubled my draft and don't need to clean it so often. What a difference this made
  22. So for safety sake.... installing a bolt down fuse mount and run the charge wire thru the correct size fuse? Right? This way running the B+ to the passenger battery is still possible and is important because your giving the batteries a chance to filter out ac ripple before running thru PDC and everything else connected. Is that right?
  23. No worries Mike... you owe us all a round of beer
  24. Look on Craigslist for 2nd gen trucks being parted out. I have seen quite a few in there before. You will get lucky. Some of my real nice finds meant waiting and searching for over a year. I also learned to be wary of people tending to be not honest.
  25. I haven't done that part either, After reading W-Ts' article I thought it was to help the driver side battery absorb it's share of the ac ripple.
