Dead pedal I think
I'm glad it was a simple fix... I dropped a bolt down an intake somewhere close to that area. Something about the gravitational pull.

New truck
Evan, that looks like its further involved than most want to ever do and easy to mess up..... so how did you learn how to do that? I'm impressed.

Left arm is happy again.
Years ago I had my first gen bench seat done with full thick, tanned, soft cowhide. Had them use leather lace in a Daniel Boone style stitch. It had a nice feel and you could see the ranch brands on the hide. None of 'em were chicken ranches.... dang, did it again.... sorry Dripley.

Hey you guys I got to get rid of a skunk.....
Thanks 'IB', I knew you would be the only one I could count on for advice. Pretty soon expired skunk smell featured around my place......Speaking of which..... how come all the expired members? Are they heading for the undertaker?

Mechanical lift pump
The diaphragm style lift pumps for the 12 valve riding on a cam lobe have reliability problems too. There is a new style attachment point where the diaphragm linkage rod attached to the arm riding on the cam is built cheaper and does not stay attached. I discovered this when comparing the original 1992 lift pump, still operational with 250,000 miles on it was built so much better. Even going to Cummins parts I wasn't able to get the original style lift pump. The newer cheaply built ones kept failing and required a fuel pressure gauge be installed. I loved that old truck for almost 22 yrs.

Hey you guys I got to get rid of a skunk.....
But my wife says if I shoot it, it will stink bad. Is that true?

New truck
I like my Mag Hytech trans pan with temperature gauge. It holds extra 4 qts. and has a drain and cooling fins. I like the ability to change trans fluid if it got hot in between service intervals. I Like that drain plug. I like my mystery switches to both trucks that IBMobile set up for me. I don't like when I'm tired and forget to switch it off. It can be hard on the trans for sure if you forget to let off the throttle when going into fourth gear

New truck
Nice Truck, I like it. Do you plan any towing or anything? Hey Evan, why don't you send in a token membership? It's a good site!

Left arm is happy again.
I have seen prices over $200 for a good used wood grain bezel. Maybe that is not so bad though when you consider that they may not be making the wood grain any longer.

Lift pump relay, alternate trigger
Also it is important to complete what is called The W-T Grounding Mods in the articles section at the top of the forum. This will help save further damage to expensive electronics. Many have done it and all reported excellent results.

Private Property A Concept Lost On Most Americans
Part of the issue has a bit of history with it. When the two railway companies were competing in the 1800s to be the first to cross east to west. The Government offered huge tracts of land to the first one that built a railway across our country as a prize. The lands were split into a checkerboard pattern so they wouldn't own any one area the size of an entire state. So now you have a situation where they can block access to a checkerboard area that is a national forest square surrounded by private squares. You guys probably knew this already

HELP
That is weird unless it was over torqued. Is the rebuilder a reputable Cummins builder? I can't see a guy in a hurry just using an impact on something like that. Weird!

Left arm is happy again.
If you see one for a good deal just get it and I will send you the money for shipping too. I think things out your way cost less as we are seeing prices going crazy out west.

Left arm is happy again.
I had to pop out the window/door switch to fix it and now won't stay down. A drop of silicone might do it and let it come out later when needed. I also need a new wood grain bezel for mine, but you seen the prices on those? sheesh. I tried putting a glue down leather top on it but the leather curled in the sun. Love it if they made a stainless stick down top for it like the rockers have.

Private Property A Concept Lost On Most Americans
We will see how this all plays out. It means also that we have to be smarter than most how to gain legal access to National Forest areas. From what I have seen in recent years, many don't care about how they treat the land. They are ruining it for us good guys that leave little impact. We who don't throw wads of toilet paper and other garbage. We who respect the woods and smoke inside our vehicle if can't help smokin'. I can't blame them really when you hear stories about some stupid act that started a forest fire. There two sides to this. I was surprised to see indications or an omen of the way the world is headed when I spotted a dirty diaper tossed along side a trail head in one of the most pristine provincial parks in B.C. canada. It was on one the icefield parkway trailheads. Also starting to see wads of unburied toilet paper in areas w/o toilet facilities. If you were raised correctly you know how to be a good guy. I blame for what is happening in our world today. Generally speaking though, the greater numbers of disrespectful types, the greater numbers of restrictions we will be seeing affecting everyone.

Uneducated second gen owner in need of help
Nice bit of information Mike. Is it possible to get a nice set of 16 inch wheels with the correct offset? All my aftermarket wheels, a total of two sets stored away, allow the tires to stick out and don't like it. More importantly, they need to have the right weight rating for hauling a 3000 lb slide in camper.

Uneducated second gen owner in need of help
I have an entirely different opinion when it comes to my trucks. All I want is reliability. I don't need all the power and noise since I'm not a kid any longer. I have places to go and things to see..... I love to travel, camp, metal detect historical places, travel high into the mtns and get relief from summer heat and meet with friends. To me it's plenty good just to have a nice clean straight truck with all the needed mods for the long haul. It is not my intention to slight the younger generation about their ideas..... I just don't want the complications and added troubleshooting with a larger degree of modifications.

Uneducated second gen owner in need of help
There is quite a bit of things that need attention first that are in the article section. All mostly for reliability and the long haul. I love having two of these trucks that run so sweet by my hand and this site's help including some member in doing that. I'm very proud to have my two first gen trucks and so proud of the fact that they are old and yet run so nice. One needed a new vibration damper. After putting it on the weekend my plumber and neighbor were surprised how smooth my truck ran. It was the first comment they made when riding with me. I'm building a new home and had to have the bank inspector ride with me up to the job as the road was new and had rained a lot. She was a nice lady and she even noticed how nice it ran. Now that's a real lady that can tell that to me. I wanted to marry her after she said that, but I already have an angel at home.

2000 3500 no power,sucks fuel like it's free
The site isn't going to shut down and MoparMan has gone way overboard working for the equivalent of 10 cents an hour for years and years helping everyone. He is genuine and even lets big chickens join up and big idgits like me too. So we all who want to take part will make sure it stays so we can continue to take part. There's nothing like owning a non common rail truck that will keep going with a little help from a site for a few bucks a month. Bud..... that's just the way it is and I'm happy about all the fantastic help I wood have a tough time expressing how much it has helped.
