  4. if you use a CO2 yes, powder stuff will ruin a bunch of internals and is not advisable.
  5. a weeping injection line wont hurt, just makes a mess. and i understand the money thing... took a year to do everything i had to on my rig...
  6. well at my place pitch black spots on a new driveway suck... lol

  8. ill just replace both cables and drums/shoes as they need it from leaky seals i replaced this summer. ill soak te old cables and keep as spares. tnx for the idea mike!
  9. if ambient temp is X the block will equalize to that temp. now lets say the temp suddenly dropped 50 more it would take X amount of time for the block to drop to ambient. wind would accelerate the drop in block temp to equalize to ambient. windchill affects everything, animate or inanimate.
  10. walk uphill everywhere you go... nice island though!
  11. brake drag is how i found my passenger rear drum was stuck from frozen water in the e-brake line.. what a PITA that was to free up...id be driving down the road doing 40mph at 10psi... ??????? WOW!!! something is not right..lol:lol:
  12. does it crank over and no start? or does it not even engage the starter?
  13. if it aint dripping, spewing out the vent or pouring out the turbo on either side, next bet are the rings OR valve guides. Have you done the smoke color test yet?no matter what it is sounding like it is burning the oil it loses. not sure if taking the exhaust manifold off and inspecting the valves from the exhaust ports to see if they are weeping would be the next step before taking the head off or the entire engine out...
  14. they may "appear" fine but in fact they to get worn from thermal re-molding along with compression and lose their ability to press against the walls of the tube and housing. the 2 that were leaking on mine looked fine but i replaced all 6 and had zero issues. dont go cheap on these and replace them all, if one or two are weeping the rest will follow in time. and remember put them in dry.
  15. nice! i did neighbors sparkplugs on a ford suv, had to remove the intake plenum to get to the rear 3 plugs. took about 1.5 hours but saved her and her hubby a couple hundred in labor.they pay me with steak and taters. im happy with that!
  16. did mine when i replaced fuel system about 20,000 ago, never had a prob but thats what the WIF idiot light is for.
  17. lights dimming could be the grid heaters cycling. check the battery connections as well, ensure no corrosion. also not sure if its the same as the airdog but there is a steel ball held with a spring that can get stuck open or something like that..?i also see a big drop in pressure when i get on the skinny, was at 19 idle and drop to ~11ish and this weekend it was idling at 19 but dipping down to 8 for some reason so i cleaned terminals and adjusted it to idle around 21, now it dips to 13 at most.
  18. not hard at all, bout 45 minutes takin yer time.
  19. difference is shipping to canada, same part just export tarrif.
  20. my connections started weeping just by taking the lines off a couple times for maintenance on things. i used the green scotch pads (no metal) on the crossover tubes and the line ends and put new orings on the crossover tubes (dry) and weeping went away. the threads dont seal the holes, they create pressure on the seating faces of the connections. the orings are what does the sealing of the return fuel out of the injector and if there is weeping, its one of 3 things, bad oring or not properly torqued or damaged seating faces on the injector line or crossover tube.
  21. just a thought, have you checked how clean the voltage coming out of the alternator is? (cold vs hot) also did you check the grounds?the common thing here is, it starts acting up when it gets to temp, seems to be the trigger?
  22. yup, best way to see the exhaust color is look through it with the sun shining towards you, that much oil could be a constant weep burning clean through the exhaust side of turbo.
  23. is there more oil in vapor form or droplet form? could do a p-trap style and put the bottle on the bottom of the trap (if this is what you were saying)?
  24. 2 hours away from me.
  25. ill invent something lol ill get back to ya :D hahahaha
