  1. This is why a handmade cover needs to be made so thermal paste can be Injected into the cavity and a peltier cooler or big CPU heatsink attached to it regulated with a thermal switch that will cutout on its own well after shutdown, anyone have a cover they want to spare? I'll build something to this idea
  2. I've been spending all year prepping the rig for this winter. Bring it!
  3. Des anyone have a smarty tuner that i could borrow to correct my speedo with the new tires i have on it? I can pay for all shipping to and from. Or is there an inexpensive tuner that can calibrate the ecu for tire size?
  4. damn beat me to it.... im a bit slow, but hey they like that too!
  5. i see im not the only one wth two tone, nice rig there sir!
  6. new goodyear duratrac 315/75-16 tires. new fogs painted hood (rustoleum rattlecan) post yers up!
  7. yeah diesel auto power, they get batches of new genuine bosch injectors in but they fly off the shelves. looks like they upped the price but still good deal.http://www.dieselautopower.com/product_p/rv275-oem-bosch.htm
  8. i use everwear brand from advance auto, cheap and last a good amount. rotor wear is minimal and no gouging
  9. i have a tuner its listed in my mods below, there is a setting for tire circumfrence but not sure if it acts as a speedo healer..?
  10. ill be getting the duratracs in the 315/75/16 size here shortly been researching for weeks while funds become available. nice thing with the 315's they are 3ply sidewall, load E (i think) and good for offroading! ive heard negative things from folks running a lesser load duratrack on heavy rigs but it just makes sense. c load tires arent meant for our rigs
  11. welcome! remember solder and heatshrink are your permanent wiring friends!
  12. a leaky injector is bad to the effect that it can/will create a hotspot on the piston and if neglected can/will burn a hole in said piston. i had a couple leaky injectors on mine, couldnt "feel" them but sure could hear em! i would spend the $260 from diesel auto performance and get the genuine new bosch rv275's! take about an hour to swap em out and yer good to go
  13. thanks for this post, i forgot rock auto had headlamps, im in need of both full assemblies!
  14. ive always stuck with SPICER's with NO grease nips, i do pop them open and add a dab more grease to them.the joints with grease nips are "weaker" but do fine on DD street rigs. I wheel mine so i have the heavy duty ones.
  15. flat surface 6th gear 55mph... i think around 2ish
  16. Welcome brother! we are family here.
  17. interesting, thanks for the input on the stats on yours. Glad its not just me. Now i do see these numbers when he has been sitting in the cold of winter on startup. btw there are no noises pointing to rod knock etc etc this is a good thing! anyone else chime in with their cold start pressure readings?
  18. Evening everyone!I had a weird observation yesterday that was out of the norm. here it goes.normally on my engine when i startup cold with ambient temps around 75F it will idle around ~28psi max. (for testing only) when revved cold at same ambient temp it will hit maybe ~65psi max.last night sitting in the garage at work i started it up and it was around 75ambient and idle psi was 40-42, revved to test it peaked at 80+!driving home i kept an eye on it and once fully warmed up it went to normal, 25 stabel at idle and 59-62 revved to test. appx 2000rpm.tonight i changed the filter from cheapo to the usual purolator pure one with the grippy crap on it to see if there was something that came apart in the chepo filter. no change.so i am deducing that the sensor is on its way out.there are no other abnormal sounds/ticks/bangs etc etc that i have heard when cold or hot during all this. fingers crossed its just a sensor failing. Ill take the $80 hit over a teardown to find a blockage!thoughts?
  19. its no sweat, the moogs are lifetime warranty and replacement so when they wear out or fail ill get new ones free.
  20. well 3 hours of labor from tire off to tire on and they are good to go. i placed the lower bj so that the grease nip faces rear and since i heated the yoke up a bit it pressed in fairly easy. the top one was a pain cause it didnt want to go in straight so a couple of adjustment taps from the BFH and it pressed in.next friday ill tackle the passenger side.test drive is better but the tire is still out of round/balance but new tires in nov will fix that.
  21. So i get to tackle the balljoints, i am getting some dry ice and gonna do them saturday. gonna rent a press from advance, i got the $75 moog uppers and lowers all with grease nips!wish me luck :banghead:
  22. i used the original hose going to the puke bottle and trimmed to fit for length and connected. no issues
