Michael, I'm kind of surprised you didn't suspect this sooner. Especially with you being the 'puter guy and knowing how critical is it for 'puters to have a "reliable and consistent" flow of electrons within a certain range of volts and amps etc.!! It's amazing sonetimes that these 'puter controlled trucks run at all sometimes due to the variable nature of voltage, amps and ohms!!!!!!!

My '04.5 is almost 8.5 years old now. I've never done a complete drain/flush of the cooling system. What I have done is to drain out as much as will come out............usually 4 gallons..........and replenish the system with 2 gallons of Zerex in the gold bottle and 2 gallons of distilled water.I do this every 2 years............and I use a "brand new" bucket to catch the old stuff in to see if'n there's anything in the coolant I need to see. So far, so good on Mighty Whitey!!!

If the OEM LP seized up or burnt up, the CP3 won't be able to pull fuel thru it. You could dis connect the electric to the LP and if she still can turn the CP3 should be able to pull fuel. Remember my thread several years ago about my driving to KY with 0psi LP pressure...........my wiring harness was shot, but my Walbro would turn and the CP3 still functioned fine.85,000 on an '04 is about normal for many OEM LP's. Sounds like yours died.The ticking you hear are the injectors firing.

APPS=Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Yes; your '06 does have one. It'll either be under the drivers side battery tray, or in the cab connected to the "go pedal". Only the early 3rd gens had them mounted on the engine under the bell shaped housing.

Right now......I'm waiting for a day with no sun and a high in the '50's to puncture the roof. Don' wanna mess on the roof in the heat, or in the attic to make the connections!!!!Thanks for the kind words!!

I've not heard of a 3rd gen with "green coolant" yet!!! I searched long and hard for the aproprieate coolant when I first bought my "04.5. Zerex in the gold bottle was the only one from the first change and until the last. It sure ain't green..........like the GM coolants.........and it ain't cheep either!!! The Zerex in the gold bottle is HOAT rated.........which is a necessity for 3rd gens!!!!

Sounds to me like something in the column. I'm not the wiring guy M1973M is. Hopefully he'll figure it out.........or give you good areas to look.

171,5xx miles on Mighty Whitey with the OEM water pump!! Don't know if'n it matters, but I do change out coolant every 2 years or about 50,000 miles.

To the OP, you've got a 3rd gen, correct????? If so, do you know which APPS you have?????They can be mounted on the engine in front of the intake horn under the bell shaped housing, they can be under the drivers side battery tray (like mine), or they can be on the floor inside the cab connected to the go pedal.You'd better find out before you order, as they are not all the same in a different location.

About the only real advantage I see with synthetic oil is in the "cold starting" area..................under 15*F.

My Bud told me the other day that he read/heard that WD40 sprayed on a rag and wiped onto the tires is much, much better than ArmorAll, Tire Wet, etc. He said it "put back into the tire" what the ozone/fading takes out. Never done, but I'm gonna try it!!!

It is a small stove Mike. The room it's in only goes 15x17sqft!! A bigger stove would forced me out of the stove room!! It's an Englander 13NC. It has a 1.8 cubic ft. firebox. I've done the research, and this was the "best bang for the buck"!!!!

Yeah, and this stove sits essentially in front of the mantle of the old POS zero clearance fireplace that was there prior!!! Hoping to cut my winter heating gas bills by at least 1/2 this winter. Got about 6 cords of wood cut, split and stacked now....................1.5-2 cords of which are seasoned enough to burn now!!

Finally got the last piece of stove pipe done about 30 minutes ago. Still have the old hole in the roof from the fireplace to do and make a new hole in the roof for this new stove. Won't be too long now!!!!Here's a couple pix...........

Maybe I am, but I wanna put it where I wanna put it. Not for my sake..........well maybe a little..........but for safety sake first and then for ease of wood removal second!! Scrounged about 1/2 cord of cherry from a neighbor only 2 doors down yesterday!! Free and close is good!!
