Drier than a popcorn fart...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1gsCMs6eF0 http://www.khq.com/story/29478269/cape-horn-fire-burning-near-bayview Well, guess I had to have my fun. The eery thing about this is, I was on that very mountain last night to watch the fireworks in the bay. I'm currently about 12 miles away as the crow flies. Don't think I'll have much to worry about. The area is being evacuated so I'm seeing an influx as people take shelter near me. Washington is going up in smoke with all their fires, guess we had to contribute with some smoke, too...

Tired...
You should try and recommend to the chief about getting a grant for a thermal imaging camera. They have been extremely useful in finding hot spots. ...if you guys don't already have one. Hope you guys still aren't stuck with steel tanks for your scba's!

brake and abs light, Speedo too
Today I use the truck to go to work and the abs light and brake light stay on. No biggie, it's happened before and went away. Everything still functioned and had braking power. Then, when I'm driving, I lose my Speedo intermittently. After work, lights were still on, but Speedo wouldn't work until after 20mph. What is it, my Speedo sensor, or an and sensor? I've read a little, and sounds like there is something on the transmission and diff. Any ideas?

The Uninvited Bees
Hmm, I like the setup, but I'm concerned the cone isn't actually going to keep them from getting back to their hive. This is more like a detour they'd have to take. Its been a couple weeks now. What is the progress? buy now they should have been trapped out. If it doesn't appear to be working I think you need to remove the end of the cone from the receiving box and ensure the hole of the cone is small. Like 3/8ths inch small. Think like a fruit fly trap.

battery tenders
Does this do dual batteries?

battery tenders
This is for the truck. Moving out to a place little further from town and work and won't be driving the truck as much anymore since I'll be carpooling. I had to use the truck one day because it had been almost a couple weeks since driving it. First time I ever had trouble starting the truck. That's when it got me thinking. I have a charger, but I wouldn't be able to use it on a timer etc, as I have to select settings on it first before it charges.

He351ve stand alone Arduino controller code for 2nd Gen Cummins
My two cents would be to create a delay instead. If not is there a way for it to sense the brake being applied. Just thinking how it could interfere with your exhaust brake function. This is a 10 page conversation, so forgive me if I missed something, lol.

HE351ve install / retrofit 2nd Gen Cummins
Oh exciting! Can you make a YouTube video? Id like to see it in action. If I don't have a controller, couldn't I utilize the turbo by fixing it full open until I did? At least I could run it until then... You know. Btw, where's the pictures?

battery tenders
Which one should I get and do they make dual tenders or do I even need one? I'm a fan of schumacker.

Roof Mount Gun Rack
Like Mike, I have stuff under the seat too. This is what I'm going with: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/classic-accessories-seat-back-gun-rack-black?a=1595882 I'm just as patriotic as the next guy, but people in General get too sensitive about seeing guns in the rear window.

Nose down, that might be a little difficult, lol. How much of an incline do I need.

poor air conditioning
Yea, definitely. Some of the cans only have refrigerant in them, although. I barely used half a can of a small one that had a mix of everything. I did small increments of adding until the compressor started working continuously again. Then went in and felt the air on the cab and it was ice cold.

Any more thoughts on the initial startup?

ugh, what now...
Man, pull a 14k pound trailer and it'll help remind you of what you need to do. Recently, I have not been as diligent on my maintenance as I should have been. Dunno if this is something by happenstance or a related issue. This only occurs after the truck sits for a while. The truck cranks just fine, but right at initial idle, I get a stutter then after a couple seconds goes away. I'm thinking I may be suffering from a leaky banjo tee? At the least getting air in the fuel lines somewhere. Thoughts? Just seems ironic this happens after pulling my trailer. I was keeping an eye on egts and never saw it go more than 1200 momentarily. I did at one point for some reason see my coolant reach 240. Although I have not checked for white puff of smoke not smell for a sweet smell or check oil or coolant. Shouldn't be a blown head gasket, should it?

how hot is too hot for trans temp
That's good to know. I checked the fluid and it doesn't smell burnt. But I've always seemed to have trouble understanding what burnt fluid smelt like. It always smells terrible from the get go to me lol. My compressor side intake boot must not have been on properly for some time now. Back up to making 35 pro boost and definitely have a big difference in driving now. Before the boot was fixed I was only hitting 25 pro at best. Talk about being a dummy. Can't believe I didn't see it sooner.

how hot is too hot for trans temp
When backing in, it was hovering around 220. It still seems to shift good and strong. I'll check the fluid and see if it's discolored or burnt smelling. I can't say I haven't exceeded 230 before pulling a utility trailer up in the mountains going up in 1st gear. Still on the same fluid so I guess I was okay. I cannot believe dodge would set the temp so high knowing that's too much heat already. They should have it set at like 200 or something. Before you get in the danger zone...

how hot is too hot for trans temp
I have an isspro installed per instructions. I believe the sensor is installed on the line coming out of the transmission going to the cooler. Sounds like I'll need to be dumping the fluid soon.

how hot is too hot for trans temp
Had to pull the 5th wheel today. Been a couple years since I've done it. Blew my intake boot twice, too. Had to back it into a tight spot and take things slow. Had it in 4low even. Can't remember, how hot is too hot for the trans temp.?

poor air conditioning
Thanks for the info fellas. The wife was helpful in reminding me what was going on. When I did the ac service work back those years, the mechanic said I had a small leak in the compressor. The money required to replace the compressor was significantly more than just adding an occasional can of 134a. Went to the local auto store and picked up a can and another can with oil and stop leak. Used the stop leak can first and put in maybe half a can. This was little fart can. So all in all, it did not take much to get my as back. I've got more on hand if needed. But given I Went 4 years since the last time, we'll see.

poor air conditioning
A few years ago I went through the ac system and redid everything. Strong cold air for years. This year, I barely get anything. Is there slightly but barely. Compressor is cycling on and off but not a lot of cold air. Could it need a recharge or is something else going on? How many years should I get between servicing an ac system?

Stay away from doctors?
My perception about doctors have changed in recent years. Find doctors who like treating people, not all about the money. I agree, get paid, but don't need to cut a fat hog everytime. Find specialist and private practice. Avoid the hospitals. Most importantly, if you want to avoid them, enlighten yourself about being healthy and preventative things. Can't always avoid the inevitable like injuries and genetics or other stuff. In that case, hope to have good insurance... Our medical system is bloated and corrupt, even more so with govt. Intervention..
