  1. Found out a couple hours ago that myself along with all the other 90+ drivers at my terminal have been laid off until further notice.
  2. Nice, we heat solely with firewood. Sometimes an electric heater on the marginal days. We have a well and septic system so no bills for gas/propane, water or sewer. Just want to find a way to soften the electric bill some.
  3. I have a homemade spare tire thing that holds it upright against the bed rail but I didn't like the way it looked like that. Plus it can get in the way also.
  4. Most stores have ramped up deliveries on the panic items so they can restock. Alit of places have put limits on certain items as well to stop people from hoarding so badly. Hats off to the supply chains. Stockers, truck drivers and anyone else associated with the process. They have busted their butts trying to stay on top of things.
  5. Has anyone ever had one of these apart? I may look mine later today, the PO had the spare laying in the bed, the end of the winch cable with the tire cradle is zip tied to the hitch frame. I assume it was seized up or something but the more I use the truck the more the spare in the bed gets in the way. I've looked at new winches and they're a bit pricey for what they are so just wondered if anyone has dissected one.
  6. That looks like a fancy set up Mike. Will that run say an electric range or water heater?
  7. Ok, back on track. A piece of good news, I heard on the radio yesterday that Amazon will be hiring 4600 people in Ohio because of the recent surge in online ordering. The jobs may be temporary, not sure but it will help some of the displaced workers through all of this. I'm sure some of the jobs will turn into permanent since they are building a large Amazon distribution center just south of the Toledo area. Some of those jobs may transfer into the new facility when it's up and running.
  8. One would probably look good out in the front yard.
  9. Oh, did you get bleach to?
  10. Here in Toledo Ohio the Jeep plant closed, I haul Jeeps and various other Dodge vehicles for a living so I'm not sure how much longer I will be working. I could possibly get laid off again til this is over. On a good note, it's just me and the wife here at home, we have plenty of supplies for ourselves for at least two weeks.
  11. These were the shelves my brother encountered at a Walmart yester morning when they first opened. They are no long 24hrs. 6am - 11pm now.
  12. Omg! Lol I will try redoing it but coating with paint and or clear coat when finished. At some point I will be replacing some sheet metal also. Rockers, floor from bottom of the firewall to the front seat mount and the center section of the bed between the wheel wells. I think the goose neck hitch contributed to that rusting.
  13. It'll get worse. I don't claim to be a "prepper" but the local bass pro says their ammo shipments have been frozen. Most local stores like Wal Mart or Meijer are out as well. Toilet paper is hard to find along with anything to disinfect. Restaurants are now closed to dine in customers, drive through or carry out only. My sister in law is a waitress, she is now off work until further notice with no income.
  14. Not to my knowledge. I believe there is more to this and we the public are not being told. OR, it's a big political game being it is an election year. I'm not sure which of these it is yet but the plan will unfold before us either way.
  15. Just have to worry about others looting your place and taking you food stores.
  16. Whatever works lol. I won't leave it that long but i do want to test it. Right, I definitely will make sure it's holding pressure at WOT. I won't be towing anything heavy anytime soon though, have to test again under those conditions.
  17. I think I'll do that just for piece of mind Eventually I will upgrade to 3/8" line, better fittings and relocate the pump to the frame for a pusher set up. Should maybe get a bit more pressure, also more volume and more stable that way. Not doing any huge hp mods, possibly larger injectors (+40 to +75's at most) not planning on a tuner just yet.
  18. Which hold true with other illness such as the flu. Elderly and weak immune systems have the issues. I don't view this any more serious than a flu outbreak at this point. People are just crazy
  19. Being that the pressure before the VP is only 20psi or less could I extend my test gauge hose with a Barb fitting and get an accurate reading? I could let it hang out from under the good just for testing around the block. Remove it when done.
  20. Funds will loosen up before long. Just came off a layoff at work not long ago and now we are saving for a vacation in mid April. Once that's behind me I'll be able to get some things done. Just have to be a little conservative, the reasoning behind getting a diesel truck was the reliability. If the wife sees me point a couple thousand into right of the rip she will flip. Lol She knows I will maintain and modify things as time goes on just not all at once. With the above linked kit will I also need a draw straw? Or will the factory pick up do fine?
  21. I have some surface rust in different areas of my 2001 3500. I have tried to address some of it once and failed, the rust came back in a month or so. I used a wire wheel to remove any loose light rust, had pretty clean metal when finished, sprayed 2 coats of "rust converter" to stop any that wasn't removed. Then sprayed 2 coats of primer over that. The rust came back. I am not a body man but did this happen because I did not apply paint to seal the repair? I thought the primer would do that but I guess I was wrong. One day I would like to repaint the truck but for now I just want to do some touch up and fix any thing I can to keep her looking decent. Thanks for any input.
  22. It's sad to say but most people are sheep, they see one person do something so they have to do it. Then it keeps on snowballing into a cluster **** like we have now. It's disturbing. Luckily there are still a few good folks out there, the wife saw a post on Facebook directed towards the elderly offering toilet paper to them for free from an individual that was willing to hand out from his own supply. Also, our schools in Ohio are now shut down for 3 weeks, low income families that receive free lunches for their kids were worried. The local McDonald's owner offered up free lunches to people that can't afford it. It's nice to see there is still some good people out there.
  23. The kit I linked has the T included along with the 3/8" lines, fittings, pump bracket and harness extension. I believe that is the Vulcan kit in the link at DAP
  24. Lol, I've done stuff like that to. Just waxing a hot rod adds 50hp and makes it more aerodynamic. Less wind drag because of the wax I guess. Would it be safe or stupid to maybe get a mechanical fuel pressure gauge until I get the funds for a 3 gauge pod setup? Probably end up with glow shift. I know they aren't the best out there but economically that's probably where I'll get the trio. Would this kit work to re-plumb the fuel system in 3/8" line and move the pump down to the frame in front of the tank? https://www.dieselautopower.com/vulcan-pusher-pump-system-for-1998-5-2002-dodge-cummins-3-8
  25. Since I fixed it she seems to sound a little different. Maybe it's in my head but seems better
