The Quad is installed!
Kzimmer, I might take you up on that, not that far. I love the Ernfold to Moose Jaw stretch. Didn't get no tune time, wind was blowing to hard. When first looking for a start point on canbus, do you set the first one & then all of them accordingly every time you move the first setting? How do I know what my last setting is going to be on the eqilizer to set the stretch from the first setting? What I did was go from 88% to 128%, then I changed to 70% to 150%. & left all the other settings the same. The first setting ran not to bad, the second setting turn it in to a coal train. Looks like I'm going to learn the hard way.

I like the Chevy box. Is it better, well if I said yes, I would be caught in Japan for speeding from being slapped so hard! For installation, it is a direct bolt on & both hose fittings are a direct match also. There is a little mod to do to the pitman arm. If you have both parts, a keen eye will tell you what to do just by looking at it. There are 2 different types of boxes. 1 has 3 blanks & 1 has 4 blanks on the sector shaft. 3 is the one you use. For the steering shaft, all I had to do was swap out the ends that go onto the box. It's just like a u joint, press cross out, swap ends & press back together. On the rear end, I used drop shackles, so no looking for blocks or u bolts.

Yes the results are over the top. The control arm bushings sure do keep the axle centered, & not even a hint of wonder. The bushings are poly, & the steering box is Chevy (Silverado 2005 Hd 4x4 with diesel). It's a little choppy on the rear end, but it sure feels nice & tight to the road.

The Quad is installed!
I have asked about how much timing advance there is, but no one can hear me @BD. They claim up to 100hp increase & yes it flows. I have been beating this pump for over 10 years now, & not 1 problem. If & when it goes, there will be another in it's place just like it. I have been running 3 weeks with no tuner & all I can say is that anybody normal would say thats more than enough power, but I am not normal. The thing that has made the most difference is the Hamilton cam (188-220). It is something you can feel & hear. With the Quad on 2, I am not going to have rear tires for very long. I can't imagine what it's going to do when properly tuned. I'm just not having fun trying to figure out the Excel part to make & read charts. Once I get that done, everything else is straight forward. Kzimmer, I might just have to come over to the Queen city to get some tuning lessons!

Top hat valve seal and valve train
It is an excellent idea for sure. Just don't need $450.00 springs to install a &1.00 seal.

The Quad is installed!
I am worried about timing from running this HR pump. I will learn as I go along.

Project finished.
Not 1 picture of this project. Removed the 2 1/2" front lift, installed a set of 3" drop shackles in the rear. Replaced shocks, steering box, pump, upper & lower control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, track bar bushings, end links, bottom steering shaft bushing, plus installed the 4th gen steering components & brush painted every thing with black tremclad rust paint. Ball joints were new about 20,000 km's ago. Now I know I will be able to keep this thing out of the ditch with the Quad installed, well maybe.

Top hat valve seal and valve train
I was going to do the valve seals this weekend, but the stock & Hamilton springs do not fit over the bottom lip on the SS45933 (4 litre Ford v-6) (VC-292) The springs are .073 , seals are .079. Anybody need some Ford seals?

The Quad is installed!
Now comes the questions. Is this a log? I have excel, but can't figure out how to set it up for charts. All I have is a bunch of rows with mega information. Do you have to set up the Quad every time you start the truck? So far I can't believe what this thing can read for information. EGT'S have never been this low before just zipping around town. I have a lot to learn, first I need a tune to start with & learn how to log, read them, & make the correct changes. This tune is just something to see if all works. I'm sure 1 of you kind gentlemen can point me in the right direction to get a tune started. I will need numbers & headings though, until I learn your guys magic touch on the correct procedure. iQuad-2019-04-19-08.51.13.csv

Qaudzilla woes
Or a TS MVP. I like my stack, but there is pretty well 0 for tuning. The TS is more friendly than the Smarty in my opinion, also a lot less to fool with. Nothing wrong with Smarty. Like to try a Quad some day.

Qaudzilla woes
Is the Quad like an off-on switch once it hits the wire tap? The TS-MVP you can feel, nothing serious, but it's still there. I liked the Smarty S03 for being smooth, but no wire tap. I suppose they all have their own little quirks. Can't remember how the Edge products worked. Like everyone is telling you, don't give up. It's way to easy to say I can't. A man built it, so a man can conquer it. We are all created equally.

Big change in my life...
Glad to see your feeling a whole bunch better. Your time has been well served, but your not done just yet. As for the cannabis, the good Lord put everything on this earth for a reason. My last go with Crohn's was ugly. 6 weeks & I lost 17 lbs. & now 6 months later & I have gained 20 back. If not for the cannabis, things could of got a lot worse, that was the only thing that kept me eating. I literally hate getting the crap kicked out of me. Take care, as you have a lot left to accomplish according to the Big Guy in the sky!

Electrical Article - Grid Heater Bypass
This is how I have done mine about 10 years ago. I just took the 4 factory wires from the solenoids & wrapped them up & sealed them in a plastic bag. I refuse to run a hot wire through the fire wall, especially with all the signal wires from the gauges. For the switch I use a momentary toggle in the back of my cubby hole. I start by holding it on for a count of 10, release & start engine, then just cycle it like the ECM would do until it smooths out. This will set codes but not set the CEL, besides if you know what the codes are, who cares, you know it's not going to cause any problems.

Mopar hd steering box on a 2nd gen?
It's done by tapping your box & running lines to a ram hooked to your steering linkage. It's called the west Texas mod.

3rd or 4th Gen upgraded steering linkage? SAFETY RECALL (page two))
Is everyone aware of this. By the look of mopar440cu picture, that looks like taboo. I borrowed this from another forum. Moog Safety Recall Information (1).pdf

Best tuner for 24v
Smarty is ok, but hands down the Quad. This is the place & these are the people that live for Quad. Very knowledgeable. & Hello, welcome to the forum! Fill in truck signature, it really helps to diagnose problems.

Fuel Article - Choosing a Tuner for a VP44 Cummins
You sure have a weird way of doing math. Where are the Quads dyno results? Mark laughed when he was told about adding timing box to the TST. (Really, you guys are never happy) Seeing it just doesn't make sense to you, why don't you contact Mark at TST before cat calling on his product. Better to know the facts first. I see by your readings that you really don't like the TST or Smarty.

Fuel Article - Choosing a Tuner for a VP44 Cummins
I would think that is nowhere near that number. Maybe 175 - 200 hp max ???? Then lets use the Smarty S03 for the canbus fueling with no timing added.

Fuel Article - Choosing a Tuner for a VP44 Cummins
That's what the Ts MVP does I recently picked up & installed.

Fuel Article - Choosing a Tuner for a VP44 Cummins
TST, With Mark being a Cummins engineer for 33 years, I'm sure he knows what's up. He is honest about the hp loss due to the HO pump, haven't seen that from the others who claim. He is a very interesting person to talk to & pointed me in the right direction on how to help eliminate the shudder from the TST PMCE. Since this mod & recently picking up a Ts MVP, (smarty s03 for sale) the shudder is not even a thought anymore & the truck has never felt this strong. EVER!

Smarty/TST stack still relevant?
I still have my Smarty & the TST COMP. Was going to trade for a quad, but just couldn't do it. This stack is to much fun to get rid of. Cruise control does not work on mine either. No big deal to me. Currently running SW7,TM3,Timing4 & Duration 1. if I TRY ANY OTHER DURATION ,THERE IS NO BLUE SKY LEFT. To me the Duration should be the smoke SWT. Not the TM that was mentioned earlier in this thread. My set up is pretty well the same as Tyler's was.

Boost leak question
Like it says above, tunnel ram leaking. This is at the #1 cylinder at the front under the injector. The tunnel ram was replaced at no charge. Crazy Carl & company are very standup people. Came with all gaskets & bolts.

Boost leak question
I must say, boost leaks are sneaky little devils. Here is 1 on a CR. The tunnel ram is on it's way to see Crazy Carl.

Boost leak question
Aren't boost leaks a hoot ! When I had my Demon boost leak, I finally sprayed in were the tubes meet the tank, & there was my answere. Intercooler needed replacement. It also took care of my jumpy gauge syndrome.

53 BLOCK Problem yes or no
Yes this is my block & no abner99, your not being mean. Scat happens. My biggest complaint was the mess it makes. The 53k is a typo, I meant to make it #53. As stated above 102961 miles is when it cracked. Not really looking for a replacement as the rebuild would outweigh the cost of a gallon of anti freeze.
