  1. -3* here at the moment 20-30mph wind. Yet yesterday I was in the barn working at 42*. Gotta love consistent weather. I really wish I would have purchased an insert for the fireplace right now. lol
  2. I am not entirely sure if its allowed but I am going to agree with both parties and present why!! My last truck was an 06 Mega cab at around 120k miles when sold. I was running stock tires/wheels and regularly checked my front end for play. I was on a trip with some family where I hit a rough road to bridge junction and like to have **** my pants because the death wobble was so violent. To give an idea, it shook my truck so hard, when we went to leave our destination my truck wouldn't start because it shook the battery cables off the drivers side battery. (and they weren't loose) I knew what it was from a previous Cherokee relationship but had not experienced it in my truck ever. Fast forward I replaced the track bar bushings and shortly there after placed a leveling kit along with 325's on it. I could tell a noticeable difference in the steering feedback but did not have any DW issues after replacing the bushings. Having checked bushings on a regular basis it was easy to determine that these are large and heavy trucks and the ability to check these bushings isn't always as easy as we think. Fast forward some more to my current truck. My 99 has a fully rebuilt front end under it along with a PSC brace and 35's. My 99 has such better steering than my 06 ever had and I can tell there is no slack anywhere in it. I intend to put a leveling kit on my truck in the spring as I am tired of the raked look. The reason I am on both sides of the fence is simple. Common sense says things that weigh more or stick out further place additional stress be it a large or small amount matters in the sense of TIME. Larger stresses result in a shorter time before issues arise and like wise the opposite for smaller stresses. However, the aforementioned portion of a weak factory design IS an issue. Maybe it met all the standards that it needed to meet, but that does not make it sufficient for all aspects. I am confident my truck would not drive as well as it does without the PSC Brace on it. I commend Mopar for having two trucks that have done so well but it's a catch 22 for some folks. My truck would be miserable to drive with 4.10's and stock tires. I avoid 70 mph like the plague now because of the tach gauge screaming at me, even with the higher gear ratio provided by the 35's. I can't fathom a 245-265 tire under my truck. If I can find a 37" tire that doesn't break the scale or the bank I will go up again. Otherwise I may do a front and rear swap. I have confidence in my front end as it is either way. I have addressed the factory faults and kept the stressors down as best possible.
  3. Thats a good looking wheel ya got there, can't wait to see the final result. It's not right that I am excited to see your truck with new wheels and tires. I learned something new about the balancers also.
  4. This is just great. Its good to see great minds coming together to produce a worthwhile products for folks to use. I will be ordering mine soon.
  5. I currently am running the BFG's and I know they are a good tire, but I absolutely hate the tread pattern. I too have to figure out what I am going to swap to when the time comes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. You will have to let me know what you think about the terra grappa. I had them on my last truck and to be honest I hated them. They were very loud very the not that aggressive pattern and I had a horrible time in the snow and rain with them, and they were brand new. They were slightly wider at a 325/70/17 and that's the only attribute I could find to the poor performance. In defense they did wear well. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Well I would have to say that I am thoroughly disappointed in the effort put forth by the man marked police but I am curious as how so many speak poorly of him but do not make mention of the fact that the fellow with the camera also stood by and "filmed" the drowning of a person as opposed to helping. Moral obligations to help someone go far beyond being sworn to serve and protect, but sadly enough, not everyone has that ingrained into their moral composition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I too have had kidney stones and they are most definitely not pleasant. I had always heard they were considered the male equivalent of giving birth. Funny part bout that is I had a female doctor and when I asked her about the pain comparison she said "would you ever volunteer to have kidney stones?" Of course I politely said no way, to which she replied, " women volunteer to have a second child all the time" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. You can do a lot of good by putting a steering box brace on it. There are numerous different brands out there. I have a PSC and it has been great. I know BD makes one also. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  10. Send her our support. Prayers are going out now.
  11. I also run a drag comp. I love my box and if your very worried about tapping the pump just go simple and do a stealth cover, it's super easy and does not require cutting into and tapping any wires. It's also easier to test for a good connection as it's easier to get to. I think Mike is running the most reliable setup for towing. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  12. I don't think you are familiar with the hand pumps I am referring to. It's only about 6 inches in length and 1/2 inch in diameter. Just meant to make minute pressure adjustments. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  13. Seems to me this could also be made easily by converting one of the very small hand pumps for a bicycle tire. I have one at the house that matches the size specs almost perfect. It would just have to be modified for the ember holding and removal of the actual air hose to seal the end. Just a quick thought anyway. I will look into it. 14. I always use 1st just because my clutch is a little grabby in 2nd. I can easily do it but have to deal with shutter and I don't like that. I literally let 1st out with no fuel and shift to 2nd. Just my .02 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  15. I like that. Looks clean. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  16. I have to share this funny story so bare with me. This occurred prior to Mike posting his vids on here and without me seeing the vid in question prior either. I was speaking with a friend the other day who is looking to purchase a cummins soon. He has always wanted one with a brake on it and we were discussing the ins and outs of the brakes when he says he watched a video of a fella hauling firewood down a steep grade and how well the brake performed and thought it sounded pretty damn good too. He said he couldn't tell where the truck was from but the guy had a different accent so he knew the driver was not from our area at all. I said do you remember what color the truck was... maroon maybe. He said in a questionable voice "I think it was a maroon and silver/gray truck.....WHY?) I laughed and told him it sounded just like a video Mike would make and the truck matched the description of Mikes beast. So while on the phone with him I looked up videos of cummins exhaust brakes and who do I find first thing? Mike of course. Prolly more funny to me than you all reading it, but I just thought it was odd that I some how knew it was Mike before I ever seen the video. With that said, he asked what brake you run? I said pac, but would try to clarify. So this long short story is to tell you that I have to ask what is actually is because it is not in your signature. oh and thanks for the good vids.
  17. I intend to put two of the lights like the big wreckers use on mine, but I have to many other things going on to worry bout those now, Not to mention they are made of gold I believe. My back up lights only function when they feel like it so I could use some worthwhile light back there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  18. As always I have to recommend the assassin pump. I have been running mine for awhile now and have had zero pump issues, only replacing a belt (3minutes) due to improper deflection. I did a write up on mine that's on here somewhere. I also know there are a couple other guys running the assassin and the fuel boss. Both nearly the same. Plain and simple logic for me, fewer parts to have fail and I gain pressure when I put the skinny pedal down. I am Not knocking the electrical pumps as I have not ever owned one, but I I am a huge fan of my mechanical pumps. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  19. I am curious too about those taillight backups. They appear very bright. I definitely need to add some lights to the back of mine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  20. I recall him stating it was just for pictures, and hopefully that is the ONLY reason. While pictures are still not great publicity if they are personal then oh well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  21. I have a very small amount of knowledge on smoke switches, so I won't be of any help, but I am curious as to what kind of gain you are looking for? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  22. The blocks are indeed stock and really the only reason another truck would look lower than yours might be its a 2wd or its sitting on smaller tires. I personally think it would look just fine on 33's. As previously stated, 35's are not generally an actual 35" and the difference in 35's and 33's will be about 1"
  23. That's really weird. I have been running my assassin for quite a while now and still maintain 14-15 at idle and 19-20 at throttle and 20-22 at wot. No issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  24. I understand. I run 35's with no spacers (4:10 gears) , 33's will look good and be lighter on the wallet too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  25. Each rig is a little different, I could use 3" to actually level mine, but it would sag a little when hooked to a trailer I suppose. Most use the 2" just for the best look loaded and unloaded. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
