Weird fuel system happenings?
I have a 1/8 needle valve that I got from napa. Moparman knows the part number for it. I would just try running the needle valve and see what you get. Snubbers and isolators ave been known to cause pressure reading problems and it is not very common that a mechanical gauge will have problems unless it was run unprotected from the VP.

A rant about Verizon...
I am sure that most websites do that now. This one doesnt but a lot of others like CF, I notice that the adds all are about things that I have searched recently.

Weird fuel system happenings?
If the buzz increases and decreases with engine RPM then I would think that it is the snubber not working correctly. You might try switching it out for a needle valve. Either the snubber isnt working right or the gauge is starting to die on you. Sorry to say.. The pressure swings do kind of sound like the raptor issues with the adjustable regulator. Very common for pressure swings like that.

Possible lift pump fix teaser
Those fuel lab pumps are internally regulated, correct? No external regulators or anything?

About the Lincoln.....
Might as well upgrade everything and put a turbo on there at the point that this is getting to. Get as much power out of it as possible!!

Dexter EZ-Flex Installed
A lot of people like the idea behind the torsion axles that you just literally mount the axle tube to the frame of the trailer. No messing around with springs or shackles or bushings or anything. The torsions do ride smoother than the traditional tandem leaf style set up. You can find torsion axles on a lot of upper end single car trailers and that type of thing. They like the smoother ride for their toys in the trailer. The downside is whenever that torsion axle does wear out (15-25 years) you replace the whole axle. That can get very spendy. Torsions are also getting very popular with agriculture equipment. The ease of just mounting the tube and going has really caught on in the AG world. Less down time for maintenance. Dexter can make a torsion axle for any and all applications now. You can special order any width, weight rating, and hub configuration. Makes it really nice for custom applications.

Dexter EZ-Flex Installed
I used to sell a lot of those EZ flex kits. Almost everyone who ever bought them were thoroughly impressed with them. Glad that they are working out for you too! Dexter makes lots of very good quality parts.

Fiver Tires
My truck has steel stems in the stock wheels Unless maybe someone replaced the rubber ones with steel at some point? As far as I knew these trucks came with steel.

Possible lift pump fix teaser
All I can say is its a good thing that we are driving down a road instead of being stuck out in the ocean somewhere. At least we can pull over. I want as much successful filtration as the next guy but there is a limit to what makes sense to use and what doesnt. If anyone should be worried about the filtration qualities, I would think that it should be the people with common rails. With all the injector issues they have they need all the filtering they can get!!

2001 6 speed manual
If you do end up topping the tranny off with fluid DO NOT just throw any gear lube in there. The NV5600 requires a 5w-30 Synchromesh full synthetic manual transmission fluid. It is very specific.

20 - 22" 3rd gen wheels.
Could you just find another set of stock rims? Maybe craiglist or other places like that. I am sure there are tons of others taking the stockers off and putting aftermarket rims on. You could probably find another set of stock rims for real cheap.

Fuel pressure dropping/ rough starts
The low fuel pressure I think could maybe have something to do with a incorrectly installed draw straw. The quarter tank issue is very common with draw straws that are cut to short. If I were you I wouldnt let it get anywhere near or below a quarter tank until you figure out some other way to draw fuel from the tank. (Tank sump, liberty module, etc) I agree that the apps is probably bad too. That is another fairly common issue with these trucks. Good luck on your project!!!

CAD Axle violent release.
Well I went ahead and just replaced the molded plastic lines with regular rubber lines. Shifts in and out of 4WD instantly now. Thanks for the replies everyone!!

CAD Axle violent release.
The steel lines are ok, its the molded plastic tubing that got brittle and broke in a couple of spots. Does anyone but the dealer sell those molded plastic lines with the rubber ends?

CAD Axle violent release.
Well, just found a broken vacuum line going to the infamous CAD unit on the truck. Where is a good place to find replacement vacuum lines? Or should I just replace them with regular rubber lines? I would really like to keep the stock style lines if possible.

A rant about Verizon...
Sorry for posting this late, you guys are on a roll. I am not sure of all the details, but this is what I know about the line access charge. I opened my own account last summer with verizon and it was $100 per month just for my phone. I do have a data phone with unlimited talk/text and 2 gigs of data usage per month. I went down to look at putting my wife onto my account as she is still on her parents account. When the guy looked up my account he said that I was paying way to much and admitted that whoever set my account up left out some "details". My phone/data plan costs $60 per month. Then they had a $40 "line access fee" on top. The line access fee basically allows me to add more devices to my current plan for no charge anytime I want. Thats why they say "if you buy one phone, you can add another phone to your plan for only like $5 per month" "any device" just means phone, mobile WIFI hotspots, or anything that will use data . Well, we decided to leave my wife on her parents account. That means I wont be adding any more devices to my plan anytime soon. He took the line access fee off and my bill immediately dropped $40 per month. I am not sure if this is the same on family plans or not because in that case you do have more than one device on the plan. I only have the one phone on the plan so I dont need the line access for other devices. A couple reasons I stick with Verizon: Awesome reception coverage, 98% of my family/friends are on verizon with means talk/text is free with all those people, I really dig the upgrade plans and phone insurance plans, just to name a few. The other thing you can do is only work with private phone companies that work under the Verizon name. I have found that if you work with the actual verizon stores, you will get bent over everytime. I personally like to work with the private companies like the kiosks in malls. They arent just out for the sale. Hope this helps guys.

Servicing Fluids for Spring Time
Well I finally got around to getting these fluids changed out. They were all pretty dark and smelly. I cannot believe the difference in how it shifts with the Amsoil in there!! So much smoother and quieter. Makes me wonder if the previous owner either put the wrong fluid in or maybe it was the original fluid. I did throw an extra quart down the shift tower like some others have. I think my next order of business is going to be the differentials and T-case but they will have to wait a few months. Looks like we will be moving again..

A rant about Verizon...
I got that same type of situation when I got off of my parents account. I opened my own account with verizon and everything just because verizon is the only carrier that I have had service literally EVERYWHERE I have been. I actually got to work with a guy at my local verizon store and he told me all the ins and outs. Each phone is only $40 but they tack on a line access charge to each phone of like $50-60. If you specifically ask to have no "line access charge", your bill will go down drastically. As for carriers, Verizon is the only one that I have been able to get reception with anywhere in the country. Whenever any of my friends and I go anywhere we end up just using my phone for everything because ATT, Sprint, and Tmobile never get reception it seems unless you are in a city or sometimes a well traveled highway. US Cellular and Verizon share towers so they you are able to get reception in about the same places with either of those two carriers.

'Fargo'
I have not seen either the movie or the new show, but I heard that the show is held in Minnesota as well. For those who dont know, Fargo is in fact in ND, and not MN.

I see that you had the trans fluid changed. Did the correct fluid get put back in? If not, could be causing you some issues there too.

Servicing Fluids for Spring Time
Well I hope its not bad already. Had it replaced with the clutch last month!! I am worried that the bearings inside the tranny are wore out. I wont have the money to rebuild the NV5600 for a LONG time!!!

Servicing Fluids for Spring Time
Thanks for clearing it up with some good real info. I decided to use Amsoil's universal synthetic P/S fluid as it is a good replacement for the MS5931, which is what our trucks call for. At the moment, I am a little more concerned for my transmission. Over the last few months or so I have slowly started having some noise issues. To me it sounds like bearings in the transmission but its hard to tell over the mighty cummins. If I am sitting still and let out the clutch pedal, the noise starts. When I push in the clutch pedal, the noise stops. I had the same problem on my old ranger and it turned out to be a shaft bearing inside the case.
