  1. Does it blink for sure with the headlights off? Just a double check.
  2. Best get with AH64I. He is kind of the filter guy around here. He will be able to point you in the right direction for a good filter source.
  3. You might give Edge a call sometime about it. They usually have pretty awesome customer service and should be able to point you in the right direction. Make sure you have the model/serial number off of your unit in hand when you call.
  4. Looking like the VP might be shot. I would get with Mike or someone a bit more knowledgeable then me to be sure though. Before you pull the trigger on a new VP I would get your lift pump situation figured out first though. Just a thought, I wonder if these codes could be set by running it out of fuel?? I am not sure about it. You might clear them and see if they come back after running it for a bit.
  5. Definitely be checking them trouble codes. On a side note, do you happen to know what your fuel pressure getting to the VP looks like? That might help decide what kind of shape the VP is in. The airdogs are known as of late to fail pretty rapidly. If we knew the idle and also WOT fuel pressure getting to the VP, that would help a lot. Because it will idle, but have problems with anything above idle, I kind of like to think that it is a fuel delivery issue for sure.
  6. Is there a certain way I can check them mounts? Just get under there with a big pry bar and move things around maybe? Also, how much play should either the motor mounts or transmission mounts be allowed to have? Not much I would assume...
  7. Hello all. Sorry I havent been on much lately. Just been so busy with work and moving again. Anyway, I noticed the other day that my old cummins is extra rattly, especially during shut down. It almost has an extra thump-thump to it. I cant tell if it is just something loose under the hood or internal engine. I am very much hoping for an easy fix. I have a couple videos I took of it. You can definitly hear the extra rattle as the engine shuts down and a little bit of the thump while its idling. Video 1 This video has a loud thump at the very end but that was just my phone hitting the dash as the mighty engine slows down. Video 2 Hope the videos help describe what I am hearing. Any ideas?
  8. Glove box light? Thats the only thing over there that I could think of needed power.
  9. No harm done. I would be plugging it in and maybe even adding grill covers just to get that baby warmed up ASAP. The worst thing to do is drive on a cold diesel just to shut it down again day in and day out IMHO.
  10. I didnt realize the Central Timer Module was involved. Hopefully that isnt the problem. Is everything else in the cab working as it should? Just the wiper problem?
  11. Best break out the wiring diagram. Sounds like something is shorted out someplace. Might try swapping relays out just to eliminate it as an issue.
  12. I would really like one of the 5600 as well. I am looking to pull mine apart in the next year or so. Needs bearings real bad and the synchros are leaving a lot to be desired!! Might be to big a project for one guy to take on in his driveway though...
  13. So when can I drop my truck off???
  14. Well I guess I wasn't so lucky. My vent issues came back!! Is there such a thing as a color coded vacuum diagram? Would this type of issue be caused by the mode switch itself?
  15. Sounds like you have a bug in the system that is killing your ECM's. Maybe the alternator is causing to much AC voltage?
  16. I think I got lucky. I took some time and went through the vacuum system. Replaced some brittle tubinh and connectors. Everything works as it should again!!
  17. Ok thanks. I will check into that. I should've added, the recirculate vent works as it should. Opens and closes fine. Maybe another vacuum line is bad? I haven't heard a vacuum leak anywhere but at least it's a good place to start looking.
  18. So I almost made it to 250k miles without a single problem with the stock air and heat system. Anyway, we went on a drive today and about half way through the day, the vent system stopped working. The blower motor was still blowing hard but it wasn't really coming out of any vents that hard. I was using the regular A/C at the time. I messed with the mode knob a bit. The floor vents work good but the dash and defrost vents barely have any air flow when on those settings. Am I looking at a mode door problem here? How hard is it to get at? The HVAC system is one area I haven't ever worked with before. Thanks as always!!
  19. I replaced my speakers all the way around last year. I was debating just running my own wiring to all four speakers but I ended up just attaching those amplifiers to the back of my new speakers. I got nice pioneer 3-ways from best buy and got creative with about 4 zip ties on each speaker to hold that amp in place. Works good!
  20. Somewhere on CF there was a guy that converted his 2nd gen dash over to fit a double din radio. He just cut the bezel out a bit to fit the face. Actually looked pretty good.
  21. .......... Sorry, just had to. In all seriousness though, cant wait to see it!!
  22. Just a quick thought here. I would be a little wary of an add that states the VP is "new". As far as I was aware, there are no new pumps just rebuilt ones. Unless they meant a newly rebuilt pump?
  23. Seems like that tranny temp dummy light is like the low oil pressure light. Once the light comes on, the damage is probably already been done IMHO.
  24. He had this truck running with all the new computers and stuff? I am just wondering if the PCM or ECM isnt flashed correctly for the truck. Is everything else plugged in under the hood? No loose wires or plugs? The VP codes make me think something isnt plugged in.
  25. My original pump started shuttering while cruising at about 200k, got it replaced then. The PO had put on a FASS in 2004 and that seemed to hold it together until the 200k. Got a rebuilt VP from DAP.
