Maybe gross 7k. 

 

I don't think that is the log I was looking for. It may have to wait till I pull again. 

 

I have noticed since we updated my box that idle timing had went from 13 to 11 when truck is warmed up. 

 

I will I'll try to get a log for 60mph again so I can have something to compare it to. 

 

I still haven't seen cruise timing come in.

That log looks like lvl1 truthfully.  Thats the only way I can explain how you go WOT and canbus fueling doesn't increase at all. 

 

 

 

Helpful hint for getting your custom tune setup: ( learn this today actually lol) 

 

If you stop increasing canbus % when Wiretap comes on, Pump Low Boost Scale PSI:, for a psi before and after then the smoke related to wiretap coming in is greatly reduced.  I spent alittle time with my race tune today, starting % of 92, and I have only haze even as wiretap applies.  My race tune might actually turn into my dialy tune and my daily tune might actually turn into my emissions tune.

@Mopar1973Man@Me78569 What would you suggest for towing tune starting points, maybe 4-5k gtwr and 10-12k gtwr. I think Mikes tune for performance slightly modified will almost work perfect as I've been using it for DD but haven't really pulled a trailer yet. My set up is very similar to Mikes too, minor difference is I have 60hp vs 50hp injectors 5 vs 6 speed and slightly bigger tires, most of the time I drive like an old fart too. I'll keep playing with stuff, just want to go right direction.

Can you post up your before and after tune with the timing changes that allowed you to run more fuel without more smoke?  I am working on dialing in my race tune, but timing adjustments don't seem to be changing how much fuel I can throw at it without flooding the turbo.

Alright, after a 500+ mile roundtrip to Missoula, MT, me in the pass seat tuning in real time and my Dad driving the truck like a 57 year old truck driver that he is (this is a good thing), I think I am closing in on a tune that works very well for my truck, both for MPG and moving quickly when needed. Notice my signature.

Wondering if anyone here can point me in a good direction for tuning my truck. Both a race and daily. I currently have the default tuning and I am experiencing a surge starting around 2,300rpm. Fuel related upgrades are 6x.016 injectors along with larger inj. Supply tubes, so vp, and fass 150. 

The surge is tuning related, only happens when on levels 1+. On stock it doesn't do it. Fuel pressure is perfect too. 

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

As for me I've got to write a towing tune fairly quick. I'll be hauling my RV down south to Parma, ID for a second home. 

 

On Tuesday I'll be heading home to install my injectors on Wednesday which will be 7x0.008 +75HP injectors. So my economy and performance tunes are most likely change being Jacob @dieselautopower mentioned that they will flow like +90HP with the pintle mods I've got coming. This will be my biggest injector yet.

The highway tune is smokier in city driving, but is completely clean on PL 2 on the highway.

See the PDF's for my tunes, I am running 5* cruise timing on the highway tune to get the fuel to burn.

I need to get serious and get to the track with a go pro and boost gauge in view, I think there are a few scales that need tweaking, but from what I can see, under 0 load conditions IE Neutral, X amount of fuel + Timing = Y Rpm,  so regardless of injector size, the ECM will pull fuel message to keep the rpm where desired. With that logic, it makes sense that in highway conditions, Injector size A will flow Xy amount of fuel to maintain RPM, and Injector size B will also flow Xy amount of fuel to maintain RPM, the only difference will be in the fuel message from the ECM.

 

Basically, what I did on the highway tune was think that injector size A or B will flow Xy fuel for Y RPM, so I compensated the atomization time to burn with 5* of timing. Seems to work pretty well and I was able to log 23.8 MPG with that tune in spring conditions. With larger injectors I would probably run the cruise timing even higher, but after testing from 0-6*, 5* seemed to run best at 100% Canbus fuel.

Work through this article.  The more you understand the happier you will be

 

Read it over, watch the video, then follow the tuning guide at hte bottom.  Most importantly you need to find your starting pointl.

@TFaoro was but he is up here at 7000' altitude and a SO pump.  No one has run it with a monster pump yet, that I know of, so you will need to figure out how much wiretap you can use.  

The key part is figuring out where you starting point is.  I would guess ~%75 but that's only a guess that I would use based on my driving style.

Keep in mind that how you want the truck to drive will greatly alter the tune.
