Hello I’m wondering if you can help me out. I have a 2002 Dodge Cummins 24V. Cold start issue. I checked fuel pressure going into injection pump and I'm at 16psi. Wide open throttle it drops to 11psi. So all good there right. What the issue is at -10 celcius it won't start but if I plug in and leave over night it starts no problem. My intake heater is working as the intake elbow is really warm. So it's a cold thing. When I tried starting at -10c without being plugged in I cracked fuel lines at injectors and no fuel would come out. But... next day when I plugged in she started right up no issues. Seems like when the eng block is warm it seems to hold prime but when it's co…

I’ve searched and read a whole bunch of threads about swapping an HO(028) pump in place of an SO(027) pump the mixed answeres really leave a guy confused. So so I don’t care about high horsepower capabilities or anything like that I’m just interested in daily drivability with at most a small tune and some 50-75hp injectors but currently bone stock. My SO pump is dead, I have a known working HO pump. What can I expect by swapping the HO in place of the SO pump. Many say it works just fine and many others say it can not be done..

Hi, very specific vacuum pump question, have not been able to find the answer here or any other site / google. I've read a lot about failing vacuum pumps and re-sealing them, but what I need to know is this.. I do not have the vacuum brake booster, only thing my system feeds is cruise and hvac. After my supply line fell off the pump the other day (rotted hose) I hooked it back up. I decided to replace some of the hoses and noticed there's a check valve right before the input to the hard line on the firewall... was not working as expected so replaced. I also grabbed a vacuum gauge and tested. Several sources say the system should hold a …

  4. First time posting, I've used your advice on many previous issues reading different forums and such. Hopefully you can shoot a clear answer for me here cause I'm stuck. 1999 Dodge Cummins, I've had periodic dead pedal for the last 2 years. Would drop to an idle at highway speed and no throttle response. Shut truck off, turn back on, problem went away. Now the truck is stuck at a slightly high idle at 1,100 RPM. No Throttle response at all. I just replaced APPS with Napa replacement. No different. -Vp44 replaced 3 years ago Some other history: -one day no gauges worked and got (No Bus) on odometer. Next day "problem fixed itself" -A mo…

First real post here, been lurking in the back ground but now I have a issue you all might be able to help me with. Ok got a 02 gen 2 nv5600, air dog pump. Start it in the morning to warm up (plugged in over night) and blocked wheels cause my driveway is on a incline and my ebreak is not the strongest. Come out to leave and have to put it in gear and shut off truck then remove blocks. Go to start back up and will not start just cranks but does not fire. Now I've been able to get it to start 2 different ways when this happens, either with ether or with my smarty using it to clear the 4 codes it shows. Those codes are as follows. P0232 P0230 P1475 P1693 …

I have 2001 dodge 2500 cummins and I keep getting this pain in the butt p0238 code. What could be the causes of this. For the other codes I've already replaced the sensors but yet they are still illuminated I'm new to the diesel life so shine some light on this problem thanks!

Looks like there’s 3 plugs on my trans. One I assume is the speed sensor which is near the back. Then there is the big sorta round plug up high pointing down and then there is one on an angle just above the pan. What is that one just above the pan? I’m dealing with my TC not u locking when it should. I unplugged the big round plug and it was still locked and stalled the engine. I unplugged the lower one above the pan and the motor wouldn’t even turn over. There’s 3 wires in that plug, one of them is very twisted up and has a bare spot.

In the middle of installing new injecotors currently. I'm curious what this buildup is on my connector tubes? How do you get it off?

Trying to compare between an edge EZ, a smarty s03, and a quad but I’m not sure about it cause the guy doesn’t know what model it is because it came in a parts truck and he can’t find any switch in the cab. The box itself is sort of an odd shape but I don’t really know much about quad products to figure out what it is but based on the pics of the wiring he sent me I’m guessing it’s an xtz. Old model maybe?? Anyways truck will be a daily driver mostly stock with 50-75hp injectors and typical intake/exhaust mods at most. Just trying to figure out which one would best suit me. Leaning towards smarty but only because of the high idle..

Does anyone know how to flush out the heater exchange? I have pulled out all the tranny lines so I could replace them with the cooler, but cant find out any info on how to flush the heater exchange. I know it has a check valve, but thats it. LOL Thanks again fro the help!! /

  12. I have not started nor driven my truck for about 6 months. She started right up but the exhaust brake in not working. I have suspicions that our dumbassed cat which has been crawling up into the engine compartment may have something to do with it. I think I have some ideas on where to start troubleshooting but it never hurts to get as much information and advice as possible before hand. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions on solving this problem. Thank!

Just had my transmission upgraded at Dynamic Transmission, LLC and wanted to give John a shout out. I was really impressed with his knowledge and expertise. Check out my youtube video on the work.

Last night on the way home I start detecting a vibration occurring when the driveline went slack. Kind of knew at that point the rear driveshaft was going to be the trouble maker. I found a way to change the rear most u-joint in under 1 hour without pulling the driveshaft. I grabbed the Harbor Freight Ball Joint Press and began to press the old joint out. Finish the job and rolled it out of the shop in under 1 hour.

When I left work today, truck worked fine. I came to a stop after exiting the interstate and when I went to go the truck seemed real sluggish. Everything felt fine once I was rolling, but moving from a dead stop the truck would smoke and slowly start rolling. Once I got closer to home I realized I had no first gear, even if I put the selector in low, it still starts in 2nd. The transmission was rebuilt by a reputable shop back in August, has maybe 10k miles and supposed to be good for 650hp. I'm not rough on my truck and haven't even towed with it yet. It does have a 3 year 100k mile warranty so I'm not worried about getting it fixed. I am curious if there is anyth…

I know there is a lot of different opinions on the internet on purchasing a billet input shaft, but I have not seen a lot posted here. What do you guys think of purchasing a billet input shaft? I am rebuilding my 47RE with a triple disc converter and a towing shift kit and were wondering if I should get a billet input for it. I am purchasing a billet flex plate also for it. My sole purpose for this 3500 4x4 is towing a 16' trailer with aluminum ladders and aluminum screen enclosures on it for mu Construction Company, which really isn't a lot for the 3500 towing capabilities. I just don't know if the shaft is needed? No I don't hot rod the truck, because its one of my com…

  18. Background: Serviced my truck the other day and did oil change, oil filter, took off the BHAF and hit with air compressor. Went for a drive and noticed a whining sound once the boost started to build (never heard this before). Went back to the house immediately and pulled the BHAF/intake elbow and found rubber behind turbo silencer ring (see picture). I am not 100% sure where it came from. My helpful two year old could have put something in there while it was sitting on the ground, or it could have been a rubber tip that came off the air compressor attachment. Just not sure. Anyway, I ended up taking off all boots before and after intercooler to blow out/chec…

Recently I purchased a mopar1973man High idle kit for my truck. I must say I'm pretty pleased with the design and all! Id like to say thank you to @Mopar1973Man and @Me78569 for their time and investment to produce the switches. I do have a couple questions... 1. Apparently there is a delay from when you switch to high idle till the time it actually starts to high idle? 2. When switching from Off position to MPG position my truck engine skipped a beat and did a pretty good miss. Is this normal? Heres a few side notes. The only good place I could find to route the harness thru the firewall was thru the hole that the hood latch cable goes thru. But the switch would not f…

I am looking for a flex plate for my 2001 5.9 diesel 4x4 with a 47RE transmission. I really dont see the need for a billet one and are having a hard time finding a non billet one. The only one I can track down is the one on MTS website. The F2-5.9 for $195. What do yall think of this thing? Do you know of any other non billet ones? 3 Times Thicker than OEM SFI Rated Flexplate Designed to handle extreme duty applications Designed to take the punishment of high horepower engines 4mm thick centerplate Ring gears are precision robotic welded with cold welding process
