I've got to say Thank You to a member sending my his damaged ECM for study purpose. I know you'll come forward to acknowledge this. I figured for the sake of knowledge of the ECM why not document as much as I can for other to learn. I can say without a doubt the circuit board is mylar and securely glued to the aluminum case. It's a single sided solder setup but it double sided tracers. '01 2500 Buddy bought the truck from our company. He thought it had a leaky pan gasket. It threw down a good puddle last night in the shop. It's coming from the vicinity of the oil line on the vacuum pump where it goes into the block. I replaced the seal in the pump 2 years ago and it doesn't seem to be leaking from there. I didn't have time to put a wrench on it so I'm hoping it's just a loose fitting- but it doesn't look it's coming from the fitting or the hose. You can see a nice clean strip down the block underneath it. Anyone else run into a leak in this area? He just had the head gasket done but it was leaking before …

I'll be working alone with full tank on this new to me truck I just bought. It has an in tank pump that I need change to frame mounted Raptor 150, also changing to 1/2'' draw and fuel lines. I want to tilt the bed to get at everything. Is it best to raise the driver side or raise the front like a dump bed? If I raise the front it looks like it might hit the cab before it goes high enough so should I tilt bed sideways instead? Thanks in advance.

Excuse my haphazard post if this has already by discussed, but I felt that it would be something us guys with older trucks would care about. That being the introduction of CK-4 oil replacing CJ-4. Apparently its an issue for Ford whereby they claim accelerated wear in their engines with this new oil. Anyone have any experience or knowledge of what this new CK-4 classification is all about.....or why it was introduced? I dont care other than I dont want my "older" engine to wear out for sake of environmentalism.

So I installed a tc lockup switch last night, and I'm not sure where I went wrong. I followed the tst website link but it doesn't seem to work. My truck junction box looks a little different than the one in his schematic but I'm pretty sure I did it right. Here is what the truck is doing. First, with overdrive off, I'll get the truck to second gear, and flip the switch on, and nothing different happens. It'll shift up to next gear as I increase speed. Then I can come to a full stop and the truck doesn't want to stall or anything. Or I can be cruising at 35, and punch it and he truck will downshift. The only thing that seems to be different is if switch is off, …

My truck is due for emissions so I removed my edge comp. When I started the truck the CEL came on and I have a P0237 code. It will not clear. I plugged the factory MAP sensor plug into the sensor and no change. I drove it around and it it runs and drives fine, no smoke. After driving it a bit the CEL went out but the code is still there (both pending and confirmed). I pulled up the "Intake Manifold Absolute Pressure" pid on my scan tool and that value seems accurate and responds to driving. I am going to go out and see if I can determine the voltage...maybe pull the MAP sensor. Any other ideas?

I started a 6hr drive last friday and 30 min into the drive my transfer case started popping into neutral ( 3or4 times). I was pulling a empty 18ft trailer. I swapped the trailer with a friend that was headed the same way, drove my truck back to the house and it did the same thing twice. So I had to hold the transfer case knob the rest of the way home. Any Ideas on were to start? (Right now I have a bungee cord hold light tension on the shifter)

Ok so my slight miss at idle when fully warm is finally getting on my nerves. From my research it is most likely the injectors. I figure after 270K they need to be at least pulled and cleaned, and while doing this I may as well upgrade a bit. I am thinking of putting in RV275s. I do have a few questions that I could use some wisdom on as I have not played with injectors before. 1. Do I need to upgrade my fuel delivery system? Now don't throw stones at me but I still have the stock setup with the original injection pump. I have replaced my LP 3 times over the years and monitor my fuel pressure post filter with a mechanical gauge in the cab. Pressure is always…

https://youtu.be/HOrBN5rbowk I've done quite a bit of diggin the last few days on here. And have came across several good places to start. But being mobile and searching through everything on a mobile device. Organization has been an issue. In the video above, it showing the trip and OD. But once you start driving. You get the no bus, message. And on the scanner I'm getting J1850 or CanBus not found. I've had a series of codes, though. Mainly being P0336 & the never disappearing 1693. Cam/Crank Sensor replaced, this week. It's an Encore Block, so it mounts below the ip. As well as an intermittent series of 1687,93,94,98. But only here and there since thi…

Starting a new thread so we don't clutter up other threads with this talk and we can have it in one dedicated thread. So @jlbayes you're the second person now I've seen post in the last couple days saying that the lower stall speed was terrible. Seems weird that builders like @Dynamic are using the slightly lower stalls, but the end user isn't happy. Is it just a preference on your end or is it actually performing bad? @Dynamic you said that the slightly lower stall speed was good up to around a 62mm sized turbo right? @jlbayes what size charger and stall speed where you running?! Tagging for sa purposes: @CSM @Silverdodge @Me78569 @JAG1

I'm having some issues with my 02. Lately I've had no low boost fueling. It's a 02 built auto with a edge comp and 50hp injectors. The fuel pressure is good and the only codes I'm getting are 0622 and 1765. You can feel the edge changing power levels, and there is little to no smoke at wot or wot from a stop. Also about a month ago everytime I drop it in gear it will stall unless I let it warm up for 10+ minutes. Any help would be much appreciate. Thank you.

No, I don't have a write up for this but I will post the PDF document for the service manual. http://www.myholsetturbo.com/manuals/HX30_32_35_38_40_GW.pdf I'll admit it's fairly easy to do. You will need a very good pair of snap ring pliers. Everything else is a standard tools wrench and such. I did run into a snag and created a bind in the shaft. Make sure to put your thrust washer back in. Once I grab the manual and seen the exploded view of the turbo I knew right away what I missed. Sure enough dug into the ashtray I put all the old parts into and there it was. Slipped it on the shaft and it spins good. The 2 end are 12 points the turbine is 19mm 12 p…

Started up today to hook up my trailer for the next morning. It was chilly so I left it idle about 5 min. to give the batteries a charge because I knew I would only be moving a short distance. Got under my trailer and got a hiccup. While dropping the trailer on it did it twice again. Pulling up my hill to turn around it did it once under load and was fine after that. I'm hoping it was a fluke and I'll find out tomorrow if it continues, but I'm just wondering what to look for. I'm leaning towards something electrical but would like to hear from others. Truck ran fine the day before.

Hi there, I am fairly new to the diesel world and was looking for some help. I have a 1999 3500 dually 4x4, manual, 5" exhaust, bhaf, Edge Juice with Attitude CTS, Southbend Clutch, and a airdog. I tow a 10,000 pound fifth wheel with the truck, and it performs ok but It will never break 22 pounds of boost. It has all new turbo hoses and clamps and a boost elbow and has been boost leak checked. It runs right up to 22 pounds and stops. I have great fuel pressure, but it feels like the truck is stopping the boost from going any higher. I have also set all of the settings on the edge so that it would max out boost at 37 pounds. What am i missing? I had plans to upgrad…

Finally someone found the DOT laws on gravity fed tanks. Thanks to Pcarlson15 over on CF. http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/98-5-02-non-powertrain/2210985-cutting-up-bed.html#post25696489 GRAVITY FEEDING IS ILLEGAL Here are some laws (regulations) which pertain to gravity feed fuel tanks, and why they are illegal. 1. 49 CFR CH.III (393.65) 6d; Gravity or syphon feeding is prohibited. 2. 49 CFR CH.III (393.67) 7.4.5.; Fuel withdrawal fittings. The fittings through which fuel is withdrawn from a tank must be located above the normal level of fuel in the tank when the tank is full. In other words, the fuel must come from the top of the tank and n…

Well every project I take on appears to give me headaches...I'm beyond stressed . I cannot get any of my injectors to budge (I've tried 1,2,3,4). I can rotate them in their slots but they will not lift up. All my strength and they will not move up a millimeter. I also cannot get my number five fuel line to disconnect from the crossover tube. I'll add pictures later but some of the nuts on the fuel lines are corroded which I suspect the issue to be with that (weird because it was California truck for 17 years). The corrosion spread to the threads on some of the fuel tubes but I'm replacing them anyway. My only other option would be to just button every…
